It was about one year ago that I heard about an e cigarette called V2 Cigs. I have to give them credit, they reached out to me very persistently and wanted me to try their V2 Cigs e cigarette batteries, cartridges, and full line of accessories.
Back then I was happy with Green Smoke and not looking to try another e cigarette, but I was urged to do a V2 Cigs review by a reader of this site, and I am so grateful that I did.
When I first tried V2 Cigs I knew it was a winner and had to get more information. I had seen V2 Cigs advertisements picking up lately, and their products were appearing on other e cig review blogs across the web, so I was happy to be among the first to try the V2 Standard Kit. There are so many things that separates this brand from the pack – so please continue to read the V2 Cigs review and see why I feel it’ the best electronic cigarette, PERIOD.
I’ve since been able to obtain my readers an exclusive discount code to give out to all of you who want to try V2 Cigs!
Here it is: “AndyG” Use that at checkout to save 10% off all V2 Cigs purchases!

Back to the nitty gritty of my V2 Cigs review….(I’m sure you’ll like it was much as I did.)
The kit is sold for $74.95, which is about middle of the pack for e cigarettes. If you invest in the starter kit, here is what you get:
- Choice of white or black battery
- Charger with combo cord and USB charger
- Wall adapter & Users Manual
- Choice of two flavored cartridges & strengths
I’m not a regular smoker of the flavored e cigarettes, so I chose Congress Tobacco and Menthol, my two smoking flavors of choice. If you smoked regularly, like I did, these are the most similar to real cigarettes. The flavors are good once in a while, but they are more of a novelty (in any brand, not just V2 Cigs) and I choose to buy e cigarettes that give me something close to the real thing. However, if you are a “flavor person” here is the list of the other available flavors: Cowboy Tobacco, Vanilla, Coffee, and Cherry.
When you order, you get to pick one flavor minimum and a strength combination. You can choose two if you’d like.
So what was my experience like with V2 Cigs Electronic Cigarettes? I’d say it was a five star experience, and it’s worthy of a spot among the top 10 brands of vapor smoking devices. My prediction is that it will be among the best e cigarettes of 2011 and beyond if they keep this pace up.
If you are unsure about splurging $74.95, there is an Economy Kit offered at $59.95, that comes with all you read about above but only one battery. If you are a social smoker and don’t Jones for a cigarette, this is an easy way to ensure you can enjoy “vaping” at a cheaper price.
Update: If you all want to see my personal V2 Cigs Video Review, Click Here. (I am new at this and it’s all off the cuff, I don’t rehearse – what you see is what you get. But, I do have a few great quotes like “The Peppermint tastes like Christmas.”)
Lastly, V2 offers an option for travelers. It’s basically the first kit I talked about, but with more cartridges and a neat, hard travel case that keeps the kit intact as you travel.

Thanks for reading the V2 Cigs review, and special thanks for V2 Cigs for offering my blog readers the “AndyG” 10% off discount code.

Which would you chooose between the greensmoke and v2? I’ve heard a lot of great things about the V2 but your blog is the most indepth I’ve seen so far so I figured I should try to get your opinion on it. What are the pros and cons of both? How is one better then the other? Thanks so much!!
Alex,
V2 gives a little more vapor in my recent experiences. What do you normally smoke? (Or what brand are you trying to simulate?) I like V2 a TON, but i started with Green and am just sort of stuck to them for that reason, as it’s comfortable to me. My brother smokes V2′s only….
(ANDYG is the current discount code for V2 btw…..)
I too purchased the V2 brand, the ultimate kit. I bought it for my boyfriend who smoked like a chimney. It was constant, he would wake up hacking and coughing and gross, not to mention the smell in the car. Since we live in an area where smoking in public has been banned, the car is the last place he had to smoke. This meant a lot of time for me alone in bars and restaurants and him out in the car smoking, not exactly my idea of a good time. Now that he has made the switch with relative ease, only a few regular cigs, we can enjoy more time together. He can sit and puff away without the smell or the hacking cough from the tar. Totally worth it!
V2 customer service was also very friendly and helpful. They helped me choose what would work best for my boyfriend based on his smoking habits and cigarette flavor preference. Shipping was also simple, everything arrived as specified. The only slight hiccup was getting him to try something new.
Glad it worked out. V2 is quickly becoming a top brand! Let me know if I can help you in any way….
I bought the ultimate kit as well for my boyfriend and myself since we are trying to quit smoking. We love V2 the customer service is great as soon as I told them about a mistake made the quickly corrected it. They are really nice to us and we love all the flavors…. well almost all I don’t care to much for the Congress ones. The vapor you get from the V2 cigarette is amazing I have tried other ones that my friends had and the vapor you got was ok but nothing compared to the V2. All in all we love our electronic cigarettes and only have regular cigarettes when we are waiting for our filters to come in.
I ordered a kit. The kit did not arrive. Contacted customer service and was told that they were out of the flavor I wanted and they would arrive this week. I called again after they arrived. They are now saying it was the batteries. 20 minute break in the conversation. “Stephanie” got called into a meeting. I am now dealing with Brian, who is nice but confused. This id one of the worst online experiences I have had in ages. The product would have to drive me to the moon and back to be worth the frustration.
Wow, when did this happen? I know V2 Cigs has someone who patrols my comments section, perhaps they can chime in and sort out the situation.
I ordered the V2 ultimate kiy on 11/3, had some issues with backordered piece, finially just had them send the Menthol lights and send me the Cig that plugs into the computer when it comes in. The tatse is just like my Marlboro Menthol Lights, I was a heavy smoker, at least 2 packs a day, since I got the V2 yesterday at noon, I have only had 2 regular cigs.
I will say the online support chat is not my favorite, but product is great
Matt,
Thanks for your comment. I tend to give V2 a break since they are rather new still and going through growing pains. They are here in South Florida so I have actually reached out to them to see if I can find out more information. They’re always helpful with me on the phone so I’ll do all I can for consumers to ensure success, safety, and satisfaction. I echo your comments about the product, it’s a very good device.
Attention Everyone:
V2 Cigs has been in the process of relocating to a larger shipping facility all week, and we have received massive inventory shipments this week of cartomizers in all flavors and strengths, as well as our new stainless steel batteries!! For customers who are back-ordered on shipments and cartridges, our shipping department is working overtime to ensure that packages are shipped out to fulfill these orders accordingly. We apologize to those whose ordered were delayed… we have been experiencing “growing pains” as a company, and our sales have been greater than we could have predicted. We are working tirelessly to ensure that back-orders become a thing of the past, but it has taken some time to get caught up on inventory and get the orders out. It’s getting better every day, and we will be developing a new inventory module to integrate with our website that will alert customers of our available stock at all times…
Thank you all for your continued support of V2. It is your referrals and word-of-mouth prasie of the V2 products that has allowed our company to grow so rapidly!
Just wanted to keep you all in the loop!
hi andy i also have had a problem with my delivery of the ultimate package i ordered o 11/16…i agree that talking to them online is a problem ..i had to wait 5-10 minutes between some of our chats..after several chats i was then told about the warehouse relocation and the back order of the cowboy cartridges i wanted. i would like v2cig to know that there oporaters should just tell it like it is in the 1st place and stop sounding so confused until you press them several times…i am still looking forward to my shipment (it is now 11/25)..they sound overwhelmed but if they just said that i would have a lot more patience..they gave me a $6 credit for shipping…(thanks) but talking on the phone can be tough also as i had to wait 5-10 min.for someone to pick up..all said the move is most likely responsable for all my issues and i hope to have a better experince in the future..thaks john
Noted, John. I guess Green Smoke is truly the only company without fulfillment issues right now. From all the comments I’m reading, that seems to be the case. Nothing against the product quality of the other e cigarette brands, but if they can’t fulfill, it’s pissing off customers.
Need to know promptly the answer to my question.
After doing some homework about ecig. in general, I have found that Oregon, where i reside, is the only state that has completely out-lawed the buying and selling of ecigs. Does this mean that any company i tried to order from could NOT send them to me in Oregon ? Of course, can always have them sent to a friend in another state and they can rewrap and mail to me. Just wondered IF that is the way i’m going to have to go about ordering ?
Thank you very much, for a prompt answer.
Sincerely, paula f. hauso
Paula, your prompt answer follows: call the companies directly and ask this to them. I am not up on the legalities and wouldn’t want to give you incorrect advice on a public forum.
I was told by a representative on Tuesday that my order would ship by this Friday, the 26th. But after hearing all of the problems other customers are having, I’m not very confident this will happen. After reading some other backorder issues posted by people on the web that happened over the summer, I’m just wondering…what’s going on with this company. Can they be trusted to deliver on their product or what? Mark
Mark, they can absolutely be trusted. I would remove them from this site and put out a warning if that was the case. (See my Prado electronic cigarette entry). V2 posts here in the comment section frequently about the inventory situation.
MY two cents – it’s worth the wait for the quality product. They will be fine, just some initial fulfillment issues from a very young company.
THE SHIPPING IS HORRIBLY SLOW from v2cigs. It took 12 days for me to receive my order when I payed $6 for 2-3 day usps priority mail. It took over a week (8 days) for them to even ship it. I AM TERRIBLY DISSATISFIED WITH V2 CIGS SHIPPING AND HANDLING SERVICE.
I recently ordered a V2 notebook cig early tues morning 11/23 just after midnight. It was for a birthday on mon 11/29. The company claimed at 12:32am on tues 11/30 that the product had shipped. The post office did not receive and process the shi[pment until after 6pm on wed 12/1. I did not receive the product until today, 12/4. On the bright side, I like the product and the vanilla is pretty good. Good vapor production.
Johnny,
If you, or anyone else out there, has a specific “ship by” date in mind, it’s best you plan on asking the company about this in advance. Fulfillment remains an issue in the industry and while quality is always superb on the e cig brands I review, sometimes it’s best to know about shipping delays.
HELLO..I TOO HAVE ORDERED THE ULTIMATE KIT AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I THOUGHT IT WAS A PRETTY GOOD DEAL WITH ALL YOU GET..WELL I DID THE ORDER ON 11/23 AFTER SEVERAL CALLS AND E-MAILS WAS TOLD MY ORDER WAS ONLY PARTIALLY SHIPPED WELL LETS SAY I WAS NOT HAPPY.BEING I WAS TOLD WHEN I DID THE ORDER I WOULD RECEIVE IT IN 2-3 DAYS WELL I RECEIVED MY PARTIALLY SHIPPED ORDER ON 12/3.WHO KNOWS WHEN I WILL GET MY BACKORDERED ITEMS THE AUTO ADAPTER AND PORTABLE CHARGING CASE.THEY DID GIVE ME A 14.99 CREDIT WITCH I THOUGHT I BETTER USE SO I ORDERED THE 20 PACK OF THE MENTHOL MED AND FULL FLAVOR BECAUSE THE LIGHTS WERE JUST NOT STRONG ENOUGH FOR ME.I DID THE ORDER ON 12/6 FOR HALF MED AND HALF FULL FLAVOR MENTHOL.AND THOUGHT ALL WAS WELL…I WAS WRONG ..GOT A CALL AT SUPPER TIME LAST NIGHT FROM SOMEONE I COULD HARDLY UNDERSTAND DID NOT KNOW WHO IT WAS TILL I LOOKED AT CALLER ID AND SEEN IT WAS FRO V2..WELL NOT TO MY SURPRISE THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY MENTHOL MED OR FULL AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NOT HAVE ANY TILL JAN.2011.WELL LETS JUST SAY(I AM TRYING TO QUIT SMOKING HERE)SO I AM NOT IN THE BEST OF MOODS.AND WES NOT THE HAPPIEST CAMPER.WELL ENDED UP GOING WITH THE PEPPERMINT MED AND FULL, HOPE I CAN GET MY ORDER BEFORE 2011..SINCE I LIVE IN NORTH FL AND THEY ARE IN SOUTH FL…SORRY BUT V2 ON MY SCALE RIGHT NOW YOU ARE A ZERO…MAYBE ITS THE NIC WITHDRAW TALKING .HOPE THEY GET THERE SH-T TOGETHER SOON…..
THANKS RICHARD IN NORTH FL
Richard,
first of all, thanks for stopping by. You are in good hands with V2. I know the manager well, we’ve traded numerous emails and phone calls. Yes, they are having growing pains – nothing wrong with that, they are always upfront with me about that and I know they are working their behinds off.
For the record, I am not a flavor smoker, but the Peppermint is AWESOME. I really enjoy it. If I can personally do anything for you, let me know, I will do my best. You are not getting scammed, this is a “real” brand and operation. I was invited to their facility and will take them up on it soon.
In the meantime, again, let me know if I can help in any way – andy @ bestecigarettesreview.com
i purchased the V2 Cigs Economy Pack, great deal, enjoyed it the whole day,
next day i tryed to smoke again (and this is the day after purchase), the battery blinked, and then died on me. charger wasn’t working so i contacted customer service and there sending me a new battery and a new charger. my questiion is, do you think this will happen again, also how long do these batteries tend to last ?
The V2′s have worked great in my experience. Never had that happen – so odds are, you won’t either. I tend to charge in between puffs on my computer, so I unfortunately don’t have a general time frame to give you as far as battery life.
As I was searching for an e-cig, it was a toss up between V2 & Green Smoke. On Nov 29th, after reading that V2 finally got their inventory squared away, I ordered the ultimate starter kit and paid for 2-day express delivery. After 4-days, my order status remained as “Awaiting Fulfullment” so I tried the on-line chat with customer service. The rep was apparently chatting with several customers since it took 3 to 4 minutes for each response. I never got an answer so I decided to call. This was much quicker and the rep told me that they were out of some of the cartridges. I then tried to change my order to whatever they had in stock but he convinced me that their shipment was coming in over the weekend and to check the status Monday. Nothing changed so I called back on the 6th and changed my order to cartridges they had in stock. Now, on the 10th, the order status still hasn’t changed so I called back only to find that my order hasn’t shipped because they are out of the white batteries – they only have black. I substituted again for the black and he told me it would ship tomorrow. We’ll see. V2 apparently has difficulty keeping potential customers informed of WHY orders are “Awaiting Fulfillment.” I only recommend ordering from V2 if you are willing to wait more than 12-days for your “express shipment” or if you are willing to call them daily for an update. I have no idea on the quality of the product yet, or what it will be like if I need to re-order cartridges. I’ll leave another comment when there’s more to evaluate.
Thanks Rob. Since v2 cigs is local here in South Florida, I was supposed to meet the management this week and see the facility. The management was apparently in China and got back late so they had to delay our meeting, which was last night. I am positive I’ll hear from them today so hopefully they get in touch and I can get further information. As said before its all due to their rapid growth – the product simply ROCKS I’ve got no problem with that.
I have your email address in your profile – I can email you details if you wish once I hear from them?
I have a real problem with flavors.I tried the blu cig received a variety of flavors after awhile they really got to me,and the tobacco taste nothing like tobacco. Nothing against Blu but I want a tobacco not candy in my cigarette. I am a steady Marlboro Light smoker. Would you say V2 is probably close to tobacco and what would you recomend I smoke. Thanks
I would say that the Safe Cig gives you the most “real” experience. My opinion, but others agree.
Andy, I just received my V2 e-cigarette today after reading your review on your site and deciding that I would give them a try. I had a Smoking Everywhere a couple of years ago, and they were horrible…The liquid would leak out on my lips and burn and leave a bad taste…The V2 works just like they say. It is by far the best e-cig I have ever tried. The cowboy and congress are AWESOME…and to my surprise, the peppermint is very good too. I was a 2 pack a day smoker and I smoked only my V2 today! My wife was very happy with this and could not believe I just stopped smoking real cigarettes. Thank you for your honest reviews and the 10% discount code. I have one question. I did not receive a 15% off future order card. Will you 10% code work more than once?
Thanks again,
John Needs
Kansas City
Hi John,
Your V2 10% code will work any time. (AndyG) I think the 15% off future order was if you referred a friend. I will clarify.
On another note, glad you agree with me – the Peppermint is out of this world! I can’t explain it, other than to use a pun-loaded statement like “it’s refreshing” because it truly is.
If I can help you with anything John, I’m always here. Happy Holidays!
I find it unsettling that you continue to tout the merits of V2 while essentially ignoring the very serious and very real shipping and fulfillment issues they have. Six weeks is far too long to be left hanging with partial orders and no end date in sight. I have read here several times trying to gain insight and get advice, but all I see is blind devotion and a level of subjectivity that does not lend itself to reviewing products honestly. No doubt the owners are nice guys, but how does that help dangling customers? How about a little more objective take that addresses the very troubling problems at V2?
Sandra, I’m sorry you feel that way about my comments about V2. Perhaps it’s best I clarify my remarks.
For starters, nobody has been “ripped off” by V2. Sure, some orders have taken a while to get shipped, but even V2 has been upfront about that. You are on the cusp of an innovation like nothing I’ve seen in my lifetime, and with the growth, how do you fault a company that is filling orders and changing lives, albeit a few weeks late?
What do you want me to do? Say they are “jerks” or make untrue claims about their products? My honest OPINION (which everyone is entitled to) is that they make a fantastic product and have been a little hectic with overwhelming demand. Would you like me to email them and see if they will post here and clarify any issues? They have done that in the past and they know my voice looms large.
If I can personally help you Sandra, email me. I’m here for YOU, the consumer.
Happy Holidays,
AG
Sandra, still waiting for your reply…
Happy New Year.
ANDY
I smoke Newport Light 100′s and am down to 2 choices – Safe Cig and V2…. Been smoking for over 30 years and want a real cigarette tobacco menthol feel….
Well if you are a menthol smoker, I’d say V2 or Safe Cig.
Hi Andy,
Just ordered the V2 ultimate kit and got the 6mg cartridges. I’m a pack a day of marlboro lights and wondered if I should have ordered a higher strength. I want to totally get off real cigs and don’t want to have any withdrawals. Just ordered yesterday and can probably still change it at this point. I sure hope there shipping time has improved! What are your thoughts? Thanks!
Evans,
Try the 6 mg, you should be okay with that. You can always get cartridges on the cheap if you don’t feel it’s enough strength. The 24′s are quite high for me, I like a 12 or 16 personally and smoked Marlboro Lights just like you.
I can’t say enough good things about V2cigs!
Absolutely the best product in terms of quality, and their customer support is first-rate, especially Miguel and Brian.
Yes, some minor glitches, but they bend over backwards to accomodate customers and keep us satisfied.
The vapor is superlative to all the other brands I’ve tried, and it’s great not to have to use those cheap atomizers that other brands sell.
I am going to be a longtime, devoted customer of this company and wish them all good luck!
MR
Thanks for stopping by M Rhodes. I’m a big fan of V2 myself. Growing on me big time!
Andy, I’ve been reading the reviews and it sounds like the V2 is the one I want to try, however I’m in the middle of a move and am afraid that my order won’t arrive before then. My last day at this address is Jan 20th. Should I wait? Also, I smoke Ultra Lite 120′s…I hate menthol! What strength should I get? Thanks
Jackie,
Wait to be safe in regards to your move. Never know and it would suck tracking down a package. Get the 6 mg, as it will simulate an ultra light.
Hi Andy,
I’m getting ready to order the V2 cigarette. I have a few questions. I’m about a 1/2 pack a day or marlboro lights smoker through the week and a pack a day on weekends. I also chew tobacco but thats a different issue. I was wondering what flavor and strength of V2 you would recommend?
for Marlboro lights, I’d go with Cowboy 6 mg. that should simulate what you smoked with the Marlboro Lights.
I wish there was a chewing tobacco substitute, I used to chew myself and miss it. I just can’t risk ruining my gums.
hi andy, do you know if v2s products are still on backorder.i bought the v2s travel
kit on 1/5/2011 and it says fullfillment awaiting.just really excited to recieve there
product.
Big news, I got to visit V2 last week as they are here in the South Florida area. Great guys, solid operation. Toured the facility and met the people. Will post an update later. They told me they were getting products in stock today (Monday) and are knocking out a long list of people who were waiting on product.
In response to Jackie: I smoked 120′s light and was delighted to find that V2 has an extra long version, which is even longer than the 120. The advantage is that the battery lasts longer, and I think it’s rather attractive, as well…
I just ordered the V2 starter package last Friday evening…. did the chat thing with a rep about realistic delivery timelines based on what I have seen here I figured that would be a nice thing to know so I wouldn’t be misguided in my expectations… and guess what…. I wasn’t told about any issues, or expected delays and was told my order would ship Mon/Tues – most likely Tuesday, so I was okay with that thinking they must be caught up. The rep the gracious and very helpful (5 stars)– it was a great ordering experience – - and it even included some humor and banter, which is rare in this day and age.
Sigh, I checked today… and it is still awaiting fulfillment. I was told at the time of order the PCC was on backorder, and I asked not to hold the order for that, and send the kit without it (which is what I was told was standard procedure for partial orders where some items are not available).
I sent a chat late yesterday for status when the order was still in “awaiting fulfillment” to which I rolled my eyes (here we go, right?). I was told we will get your order out ASAP… to which I typed, “by your definition, what does ASAP mean – a day, two days, several days, weeks”… based on some peoples definition ASAP could mean anything. I had a delayed response that ending up being that it could be days “possible end of this week or more”. I am in a service industry myself… and have a strong customer service belief that being clearly informed and if there is uncertainty then it is best to be conservative is the best way to keep customers happy.
Like many I was excited as I was hoping to make the switch sooner rather than later (and have about 5 friends lining up to get on board into e-cigs – but they want to see my take on this first). I would suggest someone at the V2 end would make sure the reps are in the know are share the real info and be conservative with timelines upfront so that disappointment and fullfillment concerns aren’t something that taints the overall initial buying experience and expectations (and I my friends are now wondering about the company as well). Hopefully, the PCC (supposed to be there today — we will see) will come in before the order actually ships, then that would be the silver lining here. Or who knows, I may get the PCC before the starter kit…LOL!
Now it makes me ponder the long-term: With the fulfillment situations that have been discussed, how many different cartidges I will need to try within the first day or so, and get my next order in ASAP (by the true definition) so V2 can get on that next refill order to prevent me running out in the meantime due to another potential delayed fulfillment issue situation. Maybe I should ask them to send the batteries fully-charged so I can get started right out the box and save me a couple of hours delay!
I tried Prado and left a comment on that blog, thanks to hours of reading the consumer comments on several brands of e-cigs I have decide to try V2, I just ordered them today, I hope it doesn’t take to long to get them, I have to smoke regular cigs until them, I am a 35 year smoker. I will post my comments once I have tried them for about a week, but with all the comments already posted I don’t think that mine will be much different
Hey Andy, I’ve been reading your reviews for a few hours now, and can I just say—*thank you* for having a website like this; it’s really taking the guesswork out of researching e-cigs. I’m fairly sure I’m going to go with the V2, since it seems to split the difference between price (BluCigs being apparently the cheapest but not awesome quality) and quality (was looking at GreenSmoke but can’t really afford something like that at the moment). For a couple of years now I’ve been a pack-a-day Camel Turkish Royals smoker, though I’ve recently tried to quit and succeeded at least in sliding back to half a pack a day. The thing is, I’m trying to quit—or at least be discreet about the habit—when I have to move back in with my parents for a few months (they don’t know I smoke and dramatically would not approve). So my main questions are: is the V2 truly scentless? Does it leak at all?
Thank you again for doing all these reviews and really letting us know all of our options. You’ve been a huge help to me (and, as I see in countless reviews on your site, many others)!
Thanks for the kind words! let me know if I can answer any individual questions for you.
I would like your opinion on which company would be better, when you compare Safe Cig to V2? We have tried Safe Cig, and both me and my wife like their product. The only problem is that you can never get a reply from them about the status of an order. Like one person posted on your site on 04 JAN, that you constantly try to contact them, but get nothing. I had to resort to posting on their Facebook Site to get a response. We placed another order with them on 04 JAN, and heard nothing. Their website says its processing (our original order from 16 DEC still says that as well). I finally sent an inquiry, and was told that it was shipped on 10 JAN. So, the shipping thing seems to be an issue with Safe Cig now. But, from what I have been reading, it is a problem with V2 as well. So, both companies shipping stinks, but V2 is cheaper in prices. I guess, what I would like to know is who has the better overall product, when you do get it? Oh, since you mentioned the V2 staff was in China, is that who is supplying them with their product?
Honestly, it’s like comparing Cliff Lee to Roy Halladay. Both brands are great and I’ll echo what I usually tell people. If you smoke regular *cigarette flavors* and don’t like the flavor aspect, go with Safe. If you like flavors and that’s important – V2 offers a ton of flavors.
OK. After reading the various posts, I am going to order the V2 Ultimate. I like all the accessories that came with it. I tried NJOY a year ago was disappointed with the quality. I was told it a cartridge will last a few days but after a day or two it tasted like crap. I also noticed that the draw was not consistent. Do you think V2 has the same issues?
From my experience, V2 has been great and held up. Consistent draw too…
Hi andy i just recieved my v2 travel kit and you are right this this kit is amazing.
I got the cowboy, congress, and menthol.I dont smoke menthol but that one taste
the best to me.and would order more menthol carts. but im not super crazy on the
taste of the cowboy and congress.do you know if there is another place to try some
other carts that taste more like tobacoo that would fit on v2s battery. thank you.
Hi Joe,
Thanks for your message. V2 is the only one I’d go with for replacing cartridges. I think you break warranty if you use other carts from other brands.
Hi I was trying to do research on the E cig for my sister. She is only 23 and smokes almost a pack a day already. She said she wants to try one. But she doesn’t want to put the money out for it. So I figured I was try to find a low cost one. I see they are all pretty good. And I know the cheaper you get isn’t always better. I would love to buy one for my dad too he just turned 56 and really needs to quit. I can’t imagine him sick or anything. Can anyone suggest the best one I should buy them?? Please let me know thank you!!
Green Smoke.
Just spoke with V2 cigs management – all items are in stock and shipping fast!
Woo – HOOO!
My previous messages would not post.
I received 2 – so far- defective- no vapor at all- cartridges with my new, just received cartridges order.
V2 only offered to give me 25% off next order, rather than replacing the defective ones and letting me send them back.
Why would I submit another order when this brand new order is filled with defective carttridges?
Do you have any suggestions???
Thank you.
MR
I don’t, and that’s odd that it wasn’t exchanged. I’ve met V2 and they are great people. Are you sure you were clear with them? It doesn’t sound like them to not make a wrong….right. Hmmm. I am speechless, a replacement product is standard if the product isn’t functioning properly. If I can do anything personally, shoot me an email please.
You are so kind, Andy. I too am speechless, as was my wonderful V2 consultant, Brian. He asked his supervisor for guidance and that was the best he could offer me, i.e. 25% off future order. So far, only two are vaporless, out of the five that I’ve tried, but I have 15 more Cherry, which could possibly be duds. (Luckily I have a few coffee left)
This is my first major dilemma with V2- other than minor issues- similar to this one (some Vanilla didn’t produce vapor/Miguel creditied me $10, but I had loads more cartridges in my personal cache), and a faulty auto battery was replaced promptly.
I absolutely love this product, don’t feel inclined to start with Greensmokes or Premium at this point, so I am hoping someone in authority (owners) at V2 addresses this grievous issue…which I suspect has been experienced by many others.
They need to step up to the plate and replace defective cartridges, and keep track of bad lots.
LOT NUMBERS SHOULD BE PRINTED ON ALL THEIR GOODS, TO AMELIORATE THIS ISSUE. AS WELL, THEY NEED TO FIND A TOP-RATE QUALITY-CONTROL PERSON ON-SITE IN CHINA, WHERE I SUSPECT THIS STUFF COMES FROM.
PITY THEY DON’T USE JOHNSON CREEK IN THE US. FABULOUS TASTE WHICH I GOT TO TRY WITH BLUCIGS….
I’ll keep you posted, but perhaps you might talk with them about this issue in general, as I am sure others are experiencing the same problem.
I’m on their side, trying to be a long-time, devoted customer…unless they really blunder in their refusal to accomodate customers who receive defective goods…
Again, many thanks, Andy. Fabulous site you have- and stupendous service you’re providing to all of us!

Well, Miguel to the rescue! I missed his email response last night.
He’s asked me to test the remaining 15 cartridges and he will credit the defective ones.
In spite of some defects, I still think their product is fabulous.
Now, if they could just eliminate defects, print lot numbers, and get some quality-control people on site, they’d be perfect.
Relieved that Miguel responded in a more customer-friendly manner than the supervisor of Brian.
Those two guys- Miguel and Brian- are an asset to V2, and I hope V2 recognizes them!
Thank you, Andy.

I’ll let my contact at V2 know. They are great people – I got together with them a few weeks back and met them as we’re both in South Florida. I was shocked at what they have in the pipeline and how dedicated they are to making a name for themselves in the e-cigarette industry.
Thanks for the message – I really appreciate when people follow up on their previous entries.
The excellence of all my V2 products outweigh any minor problems I have experienced, which I am sure will be corrected. I am willing to be patient as they seem more than eager to address any issues.
I stand by my praise of this company- and wanted to let you know that they have made every effort to satisfy this customer.
MR
I ordered the standard kit a few weeks back and was impressed enough to order a forty pack. Overall, I think they are pretty good, though I have run across a couple of “duds”. These dud cartridges just don’t last very long. I tried one today that lasted a couple of hours – maybe 30 puffs or something…nowhere near a pack of cigarettes like the product description stated. I am still in the process of trying out the product and keeping track of how long they last, etc.
We shall see.
30 puffs is definitely a dud. I have gotten “bad cartrridges” from several brands, but the rate I get them at is so low I don’t even complain. I think one out of 100 v2′s has had that problem with me personally. 30 puffs though, that’s certainly a defective one.
I’ve been watching the reviews lately, brought my decision down to either V2 or Green Smoke. Andy, this is a good show you are running here. Good info, fast response, that’s why I’m here rather than commenting somewhere else.
I had a big question regarding the Automatic vs Manual batteries that V2 offers:
Does the manual have to be primed with the button before each drag? Or just to get the vapor started (where it will then act the same as the auto-V2 or green smoke)?
I’ve also heard different opinions on how hard you need to “pull” on the green smoke to get any vapor. I see that you have a good opinion of GS, and most others list it as one of their top three. V2 is also one that seems to have a decent reputation.
Price aside, I’m looking for an e-cig that has a definite “throat hit”. Sounds like both GS and V2 have decent vapor production.
Guess my next question is about price: does the 2x increase in price for GS get made up in other ways?
I am intrigued by the manual e-cig option that V2 offers, making me lean toward them as my first kit over GS, but would love to hear other opinions regarding.
Thanks for this resource,
Thanks for your kind words. Let the “show” continue.
In all seriousness, if you are looking for a throat hit, The Safe Cig is a great option. The 24 mg’s they offer are possibly the strongest of all brands. If you watch my video, I took a (first time shooting and testing) puff of it and coughed a lot. That’s 100% real – I wish I had more footage of first experiences as that’s a pretty good one. V2 and Green Smoke do provide vapor, but for a strong Parliament-like feel, for me at least, Safe Cig has them all beat if that’s what you are looking for.
As far as priming the manual version – no, it’s not necessary and it’s very easy to operate.
Sometimes, the price pays for service as well. GS is quick to reply to c.s. inquiries and is a reputable brand as far as being fair with exchanges. I’m sure the others are as well operating on the up and up, but they are much younger, and I can speak from personal interaction in exchanging units with GS.
My opinion: you won’t go wrong with either of the three brands. If the manual button is your liking – go with V2, it’s a pretty cool deal and it works to produce more vapor than any other e-cig I’ve tried.
Does that help?
It sure does help. You just made my fast response comment reality!
I hadn’t realized the nic level was what determines the ‘hit’, by and large, thought it was more of the vapor quantity itself. I generally smoke Marb Bluepack 72s (menthol/mild). I wanted to make sure if I was going to go with a particular brand it wouldn’t leave me feeling like I was smoking an ultra-light with their dry air-ness (this is the tobacco versions I’m referring to).
My current connection blocks the YT site, so I’ve not been able to view the vids just yet. Later today I’ll have a better idea of what you mean when I can take a look.
I’m really chomping at the bit to try one of these out (no pun), be able to add another comment after some real-world use. To get the physical sensation of smoking without the chest pain, I can’t wait to find out what this feels like!
Glad I could help – let me know if you have any questions after you see the video reviews.
Cheers,
ANDY
Purchased the most expensive starter kit,(after calling the company due to shipping issues reviews I read),two items not in kit and just about a month later have not received them. Was not crazy with the Congress cartridge I ordered, tastes nothing like Parliament. Ordered the Sampler and really liked the Menthol, Vanilla and Peppermint.Ordered the 40 pack kit with my 3 above mentioned samplers and were out of two of them ! Ordered 3 different accessories and it took 10 day to ship,(still have not received), !!! Customer service in nill
!!! Love the concept but this is not the company !!! This is just a small portion of what I have dealt with since Jan 5,2011 and it’s only Jan 27 th !!!
Sorry to hear this. I hadn’t heard of any issues with customer service at V2 in about 7-8 weeks if memory serves me right. Sorry to hear – anything I can do to help, just let me know. Glad you like the product, however. The peppermint is MINT.
Ok, I’ve been away a few days, good time for an update.
After checking out the review videos (thx for that), I decided to go with a V2 starter kit. Ordered late Sunday afternoon (1/30). Got the travel kit with the travel charger, a manual and auto battery, and 15 carts (5 cowboy, 5 menthol, and 5 coffee), all 18mg.
Thanks to the discount codes I was able to get an additional “sampler pack” with all eight diff carts for just a dollar more than the kit by itself with no discount, all but the menthol were 18mg nic, the menthol was a zero.
On 1/31 (less than 24hrs after my order) I received notification that my order had shipped, but a few items were on backorder:
1) the 5 menthol 18mg carts
2) the travel charger
3) regular e-cig carry case
Got my USPS priority mail tracking number and followed the package from FL all the way to IA (thru our big blizzard we had yesterday). Arrived 5pm on Wednesday, so a bit kudos to both V2 and the USPS for very prompt service.
The starter kit arrived with all of the accessories and parts other than the menthol carts. The sampler pack was complete, with the exception of the mentol cart only a zero. No biggie for me.
My only other mixup was my ordering a black manual and a white auto battery. Got black for both, talking to support right now on how to resolve. Again, for me this is not a big concern.
My best reply from V2 support was “there are no dumb questions!” when I was trying to ask for my order status (making sure everything shipped EXCEPT the above-mentioned items).
The travel kit includes their “notebook cig” which lets you start vaping immediately. I started the batteries charging (gave the auto 4hrs, the manual 4-5hrs).
The notebook cig is great. It works just as advertized, quick, heavy vapor, good flavors from the carts. If you do *any* work near a computer and you currently smoke I would *highly* recommend this gadget.
Now on to the carts: since I have the sampler pack, I got the opportunity to try all of their flavors. First thing to keep in mind for those out there that haven’t switched to vaping: you need to ‘smoke’ your e-cig different than you take a drag on an analog.
If you take short ‘puffs’, especially off the auto battery, you will be dissapointed since the e-cig is not dedigned for this type of use. The best way for me to describe your ‘hit’ would be to puff like you are starting a tob.pipe, then take a slighly slow draw to allow the atomizer to do its work.
Those of you out there that partake in other tobacco smoking “alternatives” will know exactly what I’m talking about.
Cowboy: I admit that the “cowboy” isn’t exactly like smoking a marb red, has a fruity aftertaste. I can’t say I’m displeased with this, it’s kinda nice.
Congress. I’ve never had a parliment analog before, but I can tell which flavor the congress cart is going for, bright with what seems like a slight hint of, orange peel or some other fruit?
Vanilla: weak vanilla flavor, not sure what I was supposed to be expecting here, but does taste like vanilla
Coffee: tastes like a cuppocino in smoke form, not too sweet, not bitter.
Cherry: has a nice cherry aftertaste, pleasantly suprised
Peppermint: 100% as advertized, tastes like you are smoking with a Pep-O-Mint lifesaver or an altoid in your mouth.
Menthol: tastes more like a breath mint than a smoky menthol cig. In my opinion it is really nice, I don’t mind it not tasting MORE like a menthol cig, it’s close enough for me to start preferring it (Marb bluepack 72s are my normal analog up to this point)
Please note that the above carts were all tested with the USB notebook cig, so I had zero problems with vapor production. On the contrary, the manual method and unlimited power of the notebook cig caused my inexperience to often make TOO MUCH vapor. I could easily have coughed badly if I really wanted to.
With that said, regulating the vapor ‘hit’ you give yourself will take a little practice.
Fast forward to Thursday 9am, now have two fully charged batts, both are working just as expected. Learning how to take “measured hits” I’ve found will allow you to get more flavors from your carts, and won’t overwealm you with too much vapor (which actually diminishes the flavor).
Even though I lean toward Menthol, I can easily smoke both the cowboy and congress with no trouble, just watch the draw so you don’t get too much vapor (fun talking about too MUCH vapor after all of the reviews I’ve read).
The batteries from V2, after only 24hrs of ownership, do perform as advertized. They are slightly less forgiving than the notebook-usb option, but that really is by design.
I’m going to keep a close watch on how long these carts actually last, try to get more info up on the board soon in that respect. Honestly with a sampler pack I’ve switched carts so many times I may not have one run out for a few days!
If you can’t tell by now, I’m impressed with my experience, I’ll let you know how V2 handles the white/black auto batt replacement, but I’m not thinking it is going to be a major issue.
I’m pretty laid-back when it comes to ordering things online. Never trust your shipping company to get things right when you need it done, I like to be pleasantly suprised when they exceed my (lowered) expectations (thanks USPS). Hard to beat a less-than-24hr turnaround on order fulfillment from V2 though!
Sorry for the novel, hope this helps any prospective vapers out there.
No need to apologize, this is perhaps the most in depth v2 cigs review I have read to date. I can’t thank you enough for the information!
I’ve been interested in checking out these e-cigs for awhile now, so i started my research. I had no idea where to begin, but i came across your site and wanted to let you know that it helped me out a great deal. Thanks for putting in the work and sharing all your info!
I’ve narrowed it down to Green smoke or the V2s. It seems like you get bigger bang for your buck with the V2 starter kits. Can you tell me if there’s a noticeable difference between the two brands in regards to vapor production? If the green smoke is significantly better, I may go with them since i want to make sure I can feel it like an analog cig as much as possible. Are the green smokes really that much better to justify their higher cost?
Also, I smoke marlboro lights. Do you know which GS or V2 flavor/MGs would be the most similar tasting/feeling?
Thanks again!
If cost is the issue, go with V2. If you are looking for vapor, go with the push button version of the v2.
As far as flavor, Cowboy is your Marlboro Light at V2 cigs. (Comparable.) Green Smoke sells absolute tobacco, you’ll want to grab that in a 12 mg version.
I’m sitting at my desk vaping V2′s cowboy right now. I agree with Andy on both counts, it is comparable to Marlboro Lights, and the manual options which V2 gives you will produce more vapor than most people can handle.
I’ve tried three different power sources, all from V2. The auto battery, the manual battery and the “notebook cig” which is a higher-power usb wired power source with a manual button.
The USB power can easily overwealm until you get used to the manual method. The manual battery is similar but since it has a slightly lower operating voltage it’s not as abrupt (you can hear popping and crackling in the cartomizer if you don’t pay attention and hold the manual button too long).
I use the 18mg carts, have some zero on order now to do a comparison. They do the job for me.
One other thing I wanted to mention about V2 batteries (prolly similar to others that have these USB chargers).
The indicator light on the V2 USB charger (the part the batteries screw into) is GREEN when no battery is connected.
It glows RED when charging a battery (the end of the battery will glow as well).
You know the battery is charged when you see a GREEN/RED glow from the charger. The LED on the battery will also go out when the battery is charged.
There was some confusion as to how long these things take to charge, but now that I’ve seen both batteries act this way I know what to watch out for.
I also make a point to NOT leave my batteries plugged in constantly when they are fully charged. These chargers that many vendors are shipping are not “smart”, so when they battery is fully charged they may not shut down. I believe the safe cig does advertize a smart charger, but for other vendors (I’ve read some for both Green Smoke and V2 as well as others) I assume battery maintenance is my responsibility.
Just an opinion and observation. Hope this helps.
Thank you for the in depth review and comments. Truly appreciate it. Yes, you are right about the battery – it’s always wise to charge in moderation as the batteries will continue to get a charge which can damage them. No need to over-charge them.
Thanks again! Come back soon.
I have to say something here. I’ve read a lot of criticism about V2 Cigs, and a lot of it has been due to back-orders. I just got my January 20th order today. Granted, 20 days. That sucks. It’s unacceptable.
But, when I called and they told me of the back-order I was pleased that when it was ready, it shipped.
Wow, do I love the product. I am in love with this device, and if a 20 day wait was 40, I’d still wait. This is something I’ve needed for a long time. The V2 cig puts out tons of vapor, and seems to have a good amount of technology in it.
Worth the wait, people – hang in there….
I guess I’m one of the *lucky ones* that have had to deal with a back-order, but not really had it affect me much.
My starter kit (the traveler) comes with 15 carts. I ordered some Cowboy, Coffee, and Menthol. The menthol was on back order (this was 1/30, should be shipping soon), but the other two flavors shipped the next day, arriving on Wednesday 2/2.
I had also ordered a sampler pack, with eight flavors, other than the menthol for that pack being a 0mg nic rather than full like the rest of the carts, all eight flavors were there and shipped, arriving with the starter kit on 2/2.
The other two items I have on back-order, the metal carry case and the PCC, aren’t required to charge/use/enjoy the parts of the kit which I did receive, so I’ve been able to vape happily the last 9 days.
Another note, now that I’ve had a few days to actually use up a few carts: When I first gave these carts a test drive, I drove them hard, big hits, huge vapor. I didn’t try to mimic my analog usage. Honestly I was so THRILLED that I could vape INSIDE and not bother anybody! (the weather here in Iowa has been extremely cold, the high temps just got out of the single digits yesterday after a week stuck there).
Consequently I used up my first pair of carts in less than one day. At first I was feeling a little dissapointed, thinking these carts should last a bit longer. I’m sure many new vapers have encountered the same feeling when they started out as well. Over the course of several days, I’ve tried to moderate my usage, both at my desk (where I work), in the car, and out and about.
My analog of choice was Marlboro Blue 72s, which would give you 6-8 drags per cig. I usually get 10 drags from a normal “King” size cig, more or less. Making an effort to smoke my V2 using the old analog ritual, taking 6-10 reasonable puffs per event, then setting it down for a while GREATLY INCREASED cart lifetime and quality. These carts, when driven hard, can be burned out prematurely. If you give the carts a little rest, even 5-10mins, they perform more consistently.
Another key is taking “measured hits” I’ve found. Big, long 5-7sec drags will kill your cart pretty fast (plus it will get pretty warm). After priming an auto, or giving a manual 1-2 sec before you hit it, maybe 3sec will give you a decent vapor hit akin to analog.
I’ve also taken to daily rotation, having 2-3 diff carts which get switched off every 3-4 hours allows them to “recharge” a bit as well. I’ve even returned to some that I thought were burned out after 2-3 days of this moderate vaping, and found that you can STILL get vapor from them. Moderation is key (or having endless supplies of carts lying around) to long cart life.
KEEP YOUR CAPS! Unless I’ve got my V2 in my pocket with me, all of the other carts are sitting with their caps on. Even when the flavor fades on the carts I still keep them capped, as I’ve been able to revisit several to completely use them up.
I’ve got my first re-order in process now, will be able to compare some full vs zero carts of the same flavor soon. Will keep you posted.
One last thing on re-ordering carts. I’ve confirmed with V2 if you order one of their 20/40/80 packs of carts, you can specifiy which flavors and strengths you want in groups of 5. Just list the different types of carts you want in the “order notes” section, 5pk congress-18mg, 5pk coffee-12mg, etc. They are willing to work with you on your selection.
Can’t thank you enough for the in depth review. One question – what’s the story behind keeping the cartridges capped? Does this keep the flavor bottled up or what is the exact reasoning for that?
I’d talked to some colleagues that have some of the 3-piece e-cigs, use cartridges and separate atomizers, etc. For them maintaining a “wet” consistency of the cartridge packing material is essential to keeping their hardware in working order. Most of them have moved onto the stage where they buy their own juice and “top off” their cartridges, build “mods” for their vaping. They are “hard core” guys that maintain their vaping habit like they maintain their cars (one has a restored ’67 Camaro).
They explaned how the carto is basically an aluminum can with stuffing inside. The e-liquid/e-juice gets injected and this stuffing is what keeps the wick moist. The wick is a tube (looks kinda like a shoelace but hollow) of fiber that surrounds the atomizer at the center of the cart.
As long as you keep this wick “wet” it will continue to produce vapor, until the atty eventually burns out.
That’s why I was able to run some of my carts dry prematurely, because I was not giving the stuffing enough time to get more juice “wicked” up into the wick. It made sense after I gave them some time, the wick moistened up and I was able to get a few more hits off the cart with no burning or bad taste.
Since it is all about working with liquid and not a whole lot to begin with, it made sense to me to cap the carts whenever they weren’t on my battery.
I’m keeping mine since I’m new to this, and maybe I’ll try refilling one of these carts in the future. Right now I’m focusing on the branded carts I still have and those on the way, since (re)use of others could run into the aformentioned warranty snafus.
Great information, Matthew. I like the reference to the “mod guys.” I know people like that, that will customize and modify pretty much anything. Sounds cool. Hey thanks again for enlightening everyone. Come back any time, and if you want to write any reviews or add input on my site at any time, just email me. It helps everyone.
I have soccer tonight and usually we get a few brews afterwards. It never fails that I am teaching someone the finer points of vaping!
Cheers,
ANDY
Andy, I just wanted to thank you for all the info you provide on your site. Your site is the most informative I’ve found. After sitting on the fence for quite some time, I decided to pull the trigger on the V2 Couples Kit. Today V2 has the kit on sale with an additional 20% off, along with your 10%, so I was able to save a lot on my initial investment. Both my girlfriend and I are excited to try V2 and stop feeding our regular Marlboro Lights habit. We hope soon to be off all nicotine. I will give a follow up, in the near future, on our impression of the V2 products.
Thanks again.
Chuck
Thanks Chuck! Please report back to us on your experience with V2. I think you’ll find them quite innovative. Their sale today was a great idea.
Andy,
I forgot to mention, I wanted to thank everyone else for their input as well. Everyone’s feedback and opinions were important in my decision to go with V2.
Regards,
Chuck
After a month or so of regular reading, I ordered my V2 couples kit last Thursday night for my girlfriend and I; it seemed like the only one with consistently good reviews that had a price I could agree with. I got it in the mail today, and I must say, even after reading and watching all the reviews, that I am impressed. The vapor’s way thicker than I anticipated! This coming from a man who smoked Lucky filters for years, and recently has fluctuated between American Spirits and self-rolled Stokkebye tobacco.
I ordered 10 18mg Cowboy (which I figured would be more up my alley) and 10 Congress with the kit, but the Cowboy’s on backorder, so I’m making do with the Congress for now–it’s actually tastier than I would’ve guessed, with a slightly fruity aftertaste and a very pleasant, smooth but strong “smoke” and totally satisfactory throat hit. I just got back from the bar with some friends and had fun looking like an ass who was smoking inside when I in fact wasn’t, and I’m feeling better about this purchase by the minute. I intend to try out the Cherry and Coffee flavors when I put in my next order.
And to the person above who was asking about thick vapor: I am and have always been a deep dragger of smokes, but I decided to go with the auto batteries after reading a few complaints about the manual buttons dying–I’m not disappointed. I was a bit wary about the prospect of having to drag once or twice to prime the atomizer, but it’s not even a minor annoyance. I was astounded from my first drag.
Hello *again* Andy
I’ve got my mother and brother started on The Safe Cig, however my mother has an affinity for what I’d consider novelty flavors. I’ve read just about all of your reviews but can’t decide which brand to direct her to, as T.S.C. has a very limited variety of flavors. She loves her T.S.C. but wants a decent brand that offers several different flavors, good or okay battery/cartridge life, 2 pc design, somewhat reliable as pertains to obtaining refills or other components and won’t require sacrificing a buck fifty (or more) to start. Could you (or anybody else out there) recommend something that fits this criteria? I was thinking maybe v2 unless you have a better suggestion … Thanks so much for your time !
Hi Ashirah,
For flavors, these two brands are top notch in my book:
V2 Cigs Review
Vapor 4 Life – TONS of flavors
i smoke camel crush and really enjoy this cigarette, generally a pack of day, my question though is im stuck between 2 brands: greensmoke and safe cig, im looking for whatever brand will be close to camel crush and the effectiveness of the product, not worried about the cost just the quality and having a hard time deciding which would be better for me? and what mg is good to get compared to camel crush??
Get GreenSmoke.com and you’ll be happy with your purchase. There have been reports of the Safe Cig not having their act together right now, inventory-wise. Which is unfortunate, they have a nice product too.
As far as MG, get the FULL (18 mg) as Camel Crush is a full flavored cigarette I believe.
Discount code is currently working: “disc10-9219″
I love my V2 Cig, I am new to this and haven’t been able totally quit. I ordered all flavors with no nicotine. The one I like is the coffee, but it burns my throat and I cough after every puff, but the chocolate is so smooth but I don’t like the taste. It reallty confuses my why one is smooth and one is not. Any ideas??
Not sure about the variances between what you are experiencing in flavors – are they both the same strength?
My introduction to V2 cig was a pain to start with, and then it got worse. Being new to vaping, I ordered the power-cig. When I started tracking my order, the web site stated “AWAITING FULFILMENT” for about a week. Then the item was said to have shipped. USPS said that they had received an electronic notification from the shipper that the item is being shipped, but could not be verified. A couple days later, USPS said it was finally in their system. (Hold and combine shipments for a cheaper rate)
I ordered more products and apparently ordered a charging unit that didn’t have the car charger. Their like kind charge units are not together in their website. Customer service attitude was indifferent and sorry you don’t like it and “good luck with Joye products”.
Needless to say, the wall charging unit shorted out the minute I plugged it in. I don’t think I’ll even return the unit. Their shipping and handling is more the than I paid for the product.
Not anyway to treat first time customers.
Andy,
Have you done a review of Vapor 4 Life?
Thanks!
Yes. Please check it out. Great products!
http://www.bestecigarettesreview.com/vapor-4-life-review/
After doing some research on different brands, my hubby and I finally decided on the V2′s. We’re expecting them in the mail tomorrow, and I am very anxious. We’ve been wanting to quit smoking for some time now, but just have never been able to do it.
First, I’d like to say thank you for all of this great information! It just lets me know we made a good choice on where to spend our money.
Second, for my question. As far as the novelty flavors go, when using V2′s, do you have to order specifically from them, or will other brand cartomizers work if they have another flavor I would like?
I was looking at the Vapor 5 Life site and they have SO many options, but I don’t want to buy a pack and not be able to use them.
Thanks!
Hi Amber,
To ensure you don’t break the warranty, it’s best to order direct from the company whose battery you are using. I don’t recommend (nor do the brands) switching cartomizers from brand to brand. They don’t all fit properly, and even if they do, they don’t always draw the same.
That’s what I was thinking, but we were sure. I guess the next best thing is to purchase the empty cartomizers and some liquid from the other co’s. Thanks so much! Will be back in a few days to give you our thoughts!
Hey Andy!
I just wanted to let you know that I am very thankful for your review postings you have here! Around December I was looking for an ecig that would fit my style and one with good quality! I was not a smoker around this time BUT I’ve always wanted to try it, yet all the bad things about smoking turned me away. Then I found out about the ecig and I totally went for it! After reading all of your reviews (and others…but yours is the best!) on each ecig brand, I came to find that V2 cigs would be the most reliable AND affordable since I am new to all of it. So I put my order in on December 31 2010 with your awesome discount code! I purchased the traveler’s kit. Let me tell you how my experience went.
I put in my order around Dec 31. I didn’t actually get my ecigs until mid January I believe, but it had been awhile, maybe 2-3 weeks. This was a HUGE disappointment, BUT I was willing to wait and had the patience for it because I can understand that they are new to everything and it is a very fast growing company. Finally, I obtained my order.
My friend and I had split the traveler’s kit because we both wanted to try the ecig thing and I noticed the traveler’s kit is the only one that comes with TWO chargers. One is the USB adapter that can plug into the AC adapter, car adapter, or the computer. The other one is the portable charging case which charges the case AND your ecig. The case can be plugged in via the computer, AC adapter, and/or car charger via USB. When I got my package, the portable charger was on backorder along with my Vanilla cartridges, but this was fine again. I was willing to wait.
I immediately charged both of the batteries and my friend and I tried them and we were ASTOUNDED! We tried the ones at the mall (I believe Smoke Everywhere) and I noticed those you really had to puff on really hard and it tasted funny. These V2 cigs, on the other hand, were perfect! I got 3 flavors with the traveler’s kit at medium 12 mg strength and have listed them here in the order I liked them:
#1 Vanilla – When I got it, it actually became a quick favorite! It has a very light vanilla taste and the rest of it goes down smoother than the coffee and chocolate.
#2 Chocolate – really strong taste, most is chocolate (go figure) and the same hit in the throat. Pretty good!
#3 Coffee – Taste like a mocha type flavor with smoke. Really tasty and still has that cigarette hit in the throat
So you really do taste the flavors advertised! I wish the vanilla taste was a bit stronger, but it’s okay because it was outstanding! The cartridges last a pretty long time! I keep the caps for them because if I want another flavor, I re-cap the one I was using and haven’t finished to retain the freshness of it. I can’t really say how many puffs it holds, but they advertise that each cartridge is the equivalent to about 1-2 packs of cigarettes, depending on the size of your puffs. Great quality!
I eventually got the portable charging case and it is pretty cool and genius to have! It’s stylish and holds two cartridges and a battery (only the shorty and regular cig batteries). It’s really convenient! I HIGHLY recommend it!
Speaking of batteries, we got two of the automatic batteries. It says that you should prime them everytime you begin a session of smoking by taking 2-3 big puffs. I followed their guidelines and I was smoking away. The battery’s life is dependent upon how you use them. Since I smoked it every break, mine lasted the whole day and I would charge it overnight. I got the black ones and the LED light lights up blue. They have white ones with BLUE or RED LED lights (your choice when you order), black one’s with BLUE or RED LED lights, and stainless steel one’s with BLUE LED
lights so far.
Since I got the traveler’s kit, I also got the NOTEBOOK CIG. This thing you plug into your computer and it operates like a manual battery. To prime this one, you hold down a button on it. You will hear it prime the liquid and you take a puff while holding down the button. The vapor, strength, and hit of the cig is A LOT stronger than the automatic battery! The manual batteries give more vapor in themselves, but the notebook cig (and power cig) give even more vapor than that! It’s pretty nice to have an ecig there while doing your studies because it relaxes you.
Now everyone talks about their customer service, and let me tell you, they are far beyond par! When my order was late, they assured me when it would come and when it would be shipped. I have all the patience in the world so this was fine. What I found awesome was the convenience to just chat with them. I don’t like talking over the phone because it takes too much time so every time I contacted them, I used the chat feature. It’s really nice and convenient and every representative was ready to help me!
My USB adapter that you screw the battery into eventually didn’t work anymore after about 2 weeks (I believe it was defective), so I contacted them and they are now gladly shipping a replacement for free! Speaking of warranties, they now recently changed their products to LIFETIME WARRANTIES! You just can’t beat that especially with this quality of a product! Their customer service is of A-1 material!
This has been my whole experience and I hope this helps others. I wanted to say THANK YOU Andy for your posting! I spent about 5+ hours researching ecigs and different ecigs so that I knew which one would be the most reliable and the biggest bang for my buck! Your review site was the most reliable because your postings were un-biased, were updated, you replied to people’s comments, and even the consumers had knowledge to offer that you even kept up with! It was all really helpful! I have found an ecig product that I am very happy with. I was tempted to go with green smoke, but their prices were too steep and they didn’t really offer that many flavors. I also wanted Blu cigs, but at that time they had the 3-piece design but they have now moved to the superior 2-piece design. They also only have 4 flavors where as V2 has 8 flavors with even more to come! Sahara (like Camel flavor) is set to arrive in April. See how helpful these people who work there are?? Awesome!
If you have any questions about their product Andy, I can be sure to answer them.
I’m sure you already know more than me anyway! I hope this review helps others too! Any questions or input I would be glad to acknowledge and answer!
-Brandon M.
PS: To answer Amber’s question, V2 offers custom and blank cartridges. Custom cartridges you can order by the 100 (yikes!) but you make your own flavor and strength! Someone said they made Mountain Dew! Crazy! The blank ones are blank V2 cartridges that can be filled with whatever ecig liquid whether it’s your own or another commercialized eliquid. All of this information can be found on their site. Here’s the link to the blank cartridges: http://www.v2cigs.com/products/V2-Blank-Cartridges-%285%252dPack%29.html
Brandon,
I can’t thank you enough for contributing. You’ve helped me a ton! I’d like to you some cartomizers as a token of appreciation. email me (andy AT bestecigarettesreview.com)
Mountain Dew sounds delicious, I’m drinking diet Dew right now and am craving the “old school” version but I swore off non-diet sodas last year and am staying true to my word!
Brandon, THANK YOU.
Hey Andy,
It’s no problem at all. It’s really helpful that you have a website out for something like this with such reliable responses! I’m just trying to help everyone out by expressing my views because that’s what people want to hear, personal reviews that are unbiased!
Yeah! I didn’t know ecigs could have THAT many flavors! It was on a list of flavors that V2 has made for other consumers on their custom cartridges page! I guess if you smoke regular Mountain Dew, then it’s technically not a non-diet DRINK, right?? haha.
It was all really nothing! I’ll be e-mailing you very shortly! Thanks again for your reviews! Look forward to hearing back from you!

Hi Andy,
Just wanted to leave you a comment on V-2 cigs. I purchased the starter kit with the Congress flavor (although some of the items are still out of stock 6 weeks later). I was very satisfied at first. I definately like the auto/computer adapter. Recently, I reorderd 60 more cartridges. The replacement ones were awful. They had almost no flavor or vapor and after about 20 puffs they tasted like burning plastic. I tried 12-15 of them just to be sure. I contacted V-2 about the problem. They said it “must have been a bad batch” and offered me 25% off my next order. They would not take the bad ones back for “obvious health reasons.” I tried to explain to the person that I would never reorder something as bad as the ones I just received, but was not able to come to any resolution. I guess I will move on and try a different company. Your readers would be wise to do the same before they spend their hard earned $.
Marty M
Same issue that I had. I sent Marty’s message to Miguel at V2, in hopes that they correct the problem.
I am told, however, that they will be offering a new e-juice/ cartridges product in a few months time, which will be far superior and, I believe, made in the USA.
For the present, I’ve elected to buy blank cartridges and fill them with either Vapor King or Johnson Creek “juice.” Works out reallllly well and avoids issues with pre-filled, defective cartridges.
I still stand by V2, they’re really trying to fix problems, and they do have superior batteries to those I have tried before.
Perhaps you, Andy, can motivate them to speed up the process of offering new e-juice and cartridges, and certainly offering significant discounts for the incovenience of defective cartridges!
Thanks.
M.Rhodes
M. Rhodes,
I can pass along the message as I do have a few contacts at V2 Cigs. I’m not really a fan of the e-juice personally, I think it’s too messy and too much hassle, but I’m seeing a lot of people are into that sort of stuff.
I also stand by V2, they’ve come a long way and sure are growing.
Andy, I have found filling blank cartridges far superior to using pre-filled ones, and not at all messy. You need to master the really simple technique:
Simply remove the ringed cap on top, exposing white cotton-like material around the periphery of the inside (I use a skewer inserted into the hole at the top of ring to remove).
Johnson Creek juice/bottles came with a dropper- far preferable to the other methods- and
all that is necessary is to fill the cotton around the periphery with about 20 drops,
return the ringed cap to the cartridge, wait about 20 minutes and voila! They last longer than the pre-filled, and you have the luxury of re-filling the same cartridge up to five times, with your favorite flavors…
And oh the variety of flavors available…endless and something for everyone.
I’m a believer! And I discovered this out of necessity, after the mishap with my Cherry cartridges, two of which were empty.
V2 really needs to address and correct this problem before they lose their devoted followers…I presume they have got the message, as I heard they’re using the Johnson Creek juice/cartridges in futire, i.e.two months time.
We’ll see, meanwhile, I kid you not, give the blanks a try and fill with dropper; neat, tidy and great vapor!
Good luck!
M. Rhodes
Too much work for me. I’m a simple man.
I am set in buying a starter kit but dont have a credit card.
A friend of mine tried buying v2 with a loadable visa card and it denied it so i was wondering if theyre was any other way of buying this product without a credit card?
I am now on my second ecig company. I tried V2 this time after horrendous customer service issues with my first company (took 2 months to get a refill order and never got the one after that but they kept my money). When I ordered the starter kit they said they were out of the charging case. When I received the kit, the regular case was missing and one of my batteries was not as ordered. I emailed them and received a quick response. They called me and said they would send out the regular case with the charging case when it came in, which they said would be in a week. They also said they would send me out the correct battery and a shipping label to send the wrong one back. I was thrilled with the easy communication, and with the product! The batteries last a long time, and the vapor volume is excellent! I got the battery within 3 days too! However, I still (3 weeks later) haven’t gotten my cases. I also placed an order for cartridges last week. Got an email saying they were out of chocolate and to choose another flavor, which I did. Days later my order status still said awaiting fulfillment, but my card had been charged. So, I emailed them. The response I got back said they were out of stock and it would be a week and a half before I got my order, and they said nothing about my cases. I have since sent emails that I have gotten no response to. I am being completely ignored, and I am so angry that this is happening to me AGAIN! I am a mother of four, a full-time college student, and I work part-time. I honestly don’t have time for this kind of hassle, which is why I went back to smoking after four months of using the ecigs before. They really work for me, but I can’t be successful with such subpar customer service. So, a heads up to anyone considering this company: unless you like being ignored, charged for things you never get, and have hours of free time to deal with trying to find answers, don’t buy from these people!
Probably all of us (Previous) Safe Cig. customers ordering causing their inability to keep up. I called V2 on Tuesday evening & confirmed they had in stock the flavor and strength I wanted with my starter kit. According to their web site they ship (in stock) orders the next day. Girl I spoke with said would probably ship within 24-48 hours. I e-mailed them Thursday evening when my order still showed “awaiting fullfillment” and they responded immediately advising the order would “probably) be filled over the weekend and shipped Monday or Tuesday. Wondering now if I left the circus and stopped at the side show. Oh well, I’m hanging in there. After this at least I’ll have more cartridge sources. I understand that several other companies’ carts. will work with V2′s batteries even according to their web site.
I have also had problems with ordering from V2. I placed an order on 2/19/11. We ordered the couples kit. They took the entire $342.56 out on 2/19. Here it is, March 12, and I still don’t have my entire order. It’s just the lanyards and one set of cartridges so it didn’t seem like that big of a deal. I haven’t been smoking real cigarettes for days now so I ordered another 160 cartridges on March 8th. My e-mails from them say “awaiting filling” or something like that. I called them today and my menthols are on back order. She doesn’t know when they’ll be in but since they’re on sale for St. Patrick’s Day, they should be in by then! But of course, they already took the $$$ out of my account. I used 2 day shipping for both my orders. They do not use 2 day for their back orders – just regular ground. So while my 2/19 order is now shipped, it’s still going to take another 4 or 5 days from Florida and I will have my order almost a month AFTER I placed it AND AFTER they took all the money.
What other companies sell cartridges that fit the V2? I would hate to start over with new batteries, charges, etc. but I’m not going through this every time I want cartridges. Too bad for V2. Great e-cig – BAD customer service.
Kathie,
Vapor 4 Life has compatible cartridges and should work fine with V2 Cigs. Sorry to hear about your experience, it seems all companies are having some issues right now except for good old trusty Green Smoke.
V2 has been promising me my backorder for 2 weeks now & still nothing. One BO was supposed to be shipping within 24 hrs as of Friday, the 2nd BO shipping Monday. We’ll see but I’m not counting on it. May need to switch because of this. They’ll be losing alot of customers & $$ if they can’t keep up with orders.
Debi,
If I can be of personal help, let me know. I have a contact there and if things are taking unusually long, perhaps I can help.
I wish V2 the best of luck in the future but unfortunately I won’t be their customer any longer due to the constant shipping delays. When one pays extra for expedited shipping, it generally means they want it fast and are willing to pay for it. It doesn’t mean they want to pay extra for the standard lackluster service.
I’ve made several orders in the past 6 months and each time there has been one delay or another. While the V2 is a very good quality product, the company seems more like one of those eBay sellers who is emptying their garage and only goes to the post office every other Tuesday.
I’m sorry but this is the 21st century, not 1958. I can easily have just about anything from the other side of the world at my doorstep in 72 hours tops so I’m having great difficulty understanding why I should tolerate such inept service from a company in my own country; particularly when there’s so much competition out there. My advice for the owner would be to either quit the day job and do this full time like a professional or just stick with the day job. E-Cigs are still in their infancy but gaining popularity rapidly. Outfits with poor service will quickly be displaced as customer service oriented professionals start to realize there is a profit to be made. Being a pioneer in any new industry in no way assures success. In fact, historically most pioneers are run out of business by savvy businessmen who offer better service. Unless they can get their act together and start providing a better customer service experience, they’re not going to make it.
I’ve been to the V2 Cigs office and I can assure you the orders don’t go out to the post office every Tuesday. I was there in the height of a massive pick-up by FedEx, so your comments are way off base.
Despite this, I’m here for consumers so I have reached out to V2 Cigs for clarification on shipping situations as I’ve seen more than one comment recently. I’ll be back here soon with an official word so consumers can make educated decisions when buying.
Andy
My order still shows awaiting fulfillment so I called. The cartridges that I ordered with my new kit (the ones I was told were in stock when I ordered) were actually out of stock. They just got them in so told they will probably ship tomorrow. This is starting to remind me of Safe Cig. I think if doesn’t ship tomorrow I’ll just cancel the order. Might have to try Green Smoke. Maybe I’ll start a collection like you Andy. At least then I should be able to keep carts. on hand for at least one brand .
I just purchased a V2 kit yesterday and now I am reading these horrible reviews on cartridges and shipping! I hope I did not make the wrong choice. Once I receive mine…. Hopefully soon I will let you know.
Tom,
I am glad you wrote that because I’m here to clear that air. I spoke with Management yesterday. They were still feeling some aftershocks of the Chinese New Year and week off at the factory. Shipments arrived last week and everything is about caught up. Sure, people will post about bad experiences from ordering at inopportune times but I can assure you this is not a scam and they are doing everything in their power to continue serving you.
Update: V2 Cigs has a nice stock of everything – be patient, we’re dealing with a revolutionary product (nobody argues that) that relies on importation. things like this happen. I respect them more for telling it like it is.
Be sure to order before 3-21 to save 15%: AndyG311
I am having the same issues as all the others here are saying about V2cigs. I emailed them and called them multiple times, and still nothing even mailed out yet (except for the starter kit). I have ordered 2 orders of carts since, one that was on back order and the other that was in stock. Neither have been shipped. Not cool!
i went to the v2 website to order today and i cant seem to log onto it. is anyone else having a problem accessing the site?
Jeremy,
I just posted some information about this a moment ago. V2 Cigs is upgrading. They notified me last night.
Even with the shipping problems at the present time….I’m not going anywhere! V2 is far more superior than any of the other vapor cigs. Quality & price …… don’t change a thing. I know that you are working on improving your shipping…thank you. Hang in there. V2 will be one, if not the “top” leading vapor cig in the future.
Well, my new V2 kit still hasn’t shipped but it does show the order is filled waiting to be shipped. I’m going to stick with it. Have really been wanting to try this brand because of all the great reviews. It appears almost all of the e-cig companies are having trouble keeping up so at least if I get a V2 I’ll have 3-4 more possible cartridge sources. I’m thinking I might even order the blanks and try using the bottles of juice just for more tastes and options. If these companies go through this shortage thing every year, next December I’m going to stock up about 4 months worth. Either way, I’m not going to get caught again with just one source.
Ordered starter kit March 14th, money taken from my credit card on March 15th. tried all day to check status of my order, only to find out website is down. Please tell me this is not a scam! My father recently passed away due to lung cancer and I am desperately trying to stop smoking cigarettes!!!!Any idea what is up with their website?
Sherry,
Relax, I have good news. The website is down as they are upgrading to a more substantial e-commerce platform. Orders are shipping, etc, no worries. This is NOT a scam, I was notified as I guess I’m considered one of the media now.
Sherry, Not to worry! Just give V2 a call at 1-877-37VAPOR.
I too just discovered that they are upgrading their server, but you need only to call them in the meantime.
My condolences to you on your loss.
You will not be disappointed with V2, they’re just having some minor growing pains. I’ve been a reasonably satisfied customer since last Christmas.
MR
V2 cigs customer service is awful! I am always waiting for my orders and like everyone else my money was taken out of my bank account the same day. They really should be more on top of things since the people buying their product rely on this to keep from smoking a real cig.
What kind of cartridges are compatible with V2 cigs?
Calling the number provided gets you an answering machine saying they will callback – which hasn’t happened in the last 3 hours. I also can’t get onto the website. Andy, I hope your code lasts longer than the 21st because it may be that long before an order can be placed. I ordered SafeCig for someone else but if they come in soon, I may just keep them for myself.
Hey Andy!
Thanks so much for your blog! I’ve been doing a lot of research on e-cigs and I’ve found that your site is the most comprehensive, and easy to use. I’m trying to decide between the V2 and the GreenSmoke and am still a bit on the fence about which one to buy. For me, it all comes down to how much vapor they produce. Is there anyway you could make a comparison of the vapor production from the V2 and GreenSmoke in the same video? And from your experience, does one or the other produce more smoke? Thanks!!
-Alex
Sorry for the follow up comment, but I also wanted to ask if anybody else out there has had experiences with both the V2 and GreenSmoke and would like to comment on a comparison of the two.
Thanks!!
I got the V2 cigs for my valentines day present. The first order came in great with no problems. But since then, I’ve been having issue after issue. They always run out of the Cowboys (v2 reds now) and tell me that they expect them to be back in stock within a week to two weeks. I’ve tried changing my order to Congress, and twice now they’ve ignored my request and waited to send me an order when the Cowboys came in. I’m not a heavy smoker, but if I was, and I had to wait 2 weeks for my e-cigs to come in, I would rather just buy the actual cigarrette than wait for the e-cig. They also are doing a menthol promotion for St. Patrick’s day, and their site was having issues due to all the traffic. I tried to chat with them and order through the chat, but the representative told me that due to the high chat volume she couldn’t take my order on chat. Now, I understand if they have a policy that says they aren’t allowed to take payment on chat if their server isn’t secure- but she didn’t tell me that. Rather than take my money, she would rather answer questions about their refund policy
Great product when you can get it- but overall lousy customer service.
Update: V2 cs called me and told me about the problems on the website etc., apologized and said if I wanted to order now I could but they couldn’t say when it would be shipped. Since I have a different brand of ecigs with a supply of cartridges, I went ahead and ordered (guess I’m an optimist). I expect that I should get my order sometime in the next month. CS also told me that they had plenty of menthol so they should be shipping very soon.
Andy, you seem to be very partial to V2 probably because of your personal close local to them and personal relationship, as if you say one bad thing about them your buddyship would be gone. They have very nice customer service reps, but they never give accurate info, i call that lying , they aren’t helpful at all , all they tell you is in a nice way your getting screwed, nothing ships on time, they have issues all the time and their #1 selling products are never in stock. I mean this company is just bad, i don’t doubt they are growing but seriously i have not had one good transaction with them, not one!! out of about 8 or so, i stick with them because the product works and i’m new to this ecig thing and don’t know much about what is out their, when i do, i will be long long long gone from V2 who in words of United States Law commit fraud, they take your money and don’t deliver on a product until months later all the while advertising it as In stock, ships right away blah blah blah, then tell you oh next week you will have it and then oh next week you will have it, I am interested in starting a class action suit against V2 and am sure i will have no problems getting hundreds if not thousands of folks to join in. I will also contact the BBB and any BB in Florida.
Sorry for your experience, Chad. Really am sorry to hear that. If you read I am not partial, I just answer questions based on knowledge. Many bad comments are here as well as good ones, so I’ll let you post your rant based on the fact you were not super “in your face” and swearing. Cool?
I ordered from v2 on Monday (3/14) after I read some reviews on how good it is supposed to be. Despite the warnings of how long it takes to ship. I’m new to eCigs so I wanted another brand to compare it to, so on Wednesday early in the morning I put in an order to Premium. Within several hours, before 10 am, it was shipped out. Now here I am on Friday puffing on a Premium. Wednesday v2 told me it would be shipped out before the end of the week. Yesturday they told me it would be next week. I asked about canceling my order and told them I would wait until they had everything “sorted out” before I would buy from them. Then I was told by v2 that if I waited to order from them then it will just take that much longer. Pretty much saying no matter how long I wait or at anypoint that I do order it will still take half a month to get anything from them. Although I don’t know if that would be the case.
The v2 website also says I never even ordered anything from them. Their customer service tells me every single day that its because they are changing things on their website and it will be fixed “today.” I believe that v2 has a quality product which is why I haven’t decided if I will cancel my order or wait. I wouldn’t even have a problem with v2 if they were just upfront with their customers. I would rather hear “we really aren’t sure when it will be sent but we are trying are best” than “it’ll be shipped by the end of the week.” Then at the end of the week They just tell me it’ll be next week. Or better yet, posting a disclaimer on their website informing customers of their delays before they spend their money.
So I don’t know what I’ll do about my order with v2. But I’m already thinking about getting more from Premium, it’s incredible. I’m just hoping my batteries don’t fail in a few days like some people have had happen in the reviews I have read. But the flavor and vapor are both amazing. I’d like to try other brands as well but I’m really looking for non-tobacco related flavors and a lot of companies seem very limited. v2 and Premium both have a decent selection and are both highly reviewd. Anyone else have any other suggestions?
i did a lot of reading up and research on e-cigs and andy’s review finally pushed me over the top on my decision to buy the v2. i ordered my v2 ultimate kit last sat the 12th. however, after having horrible v2 cust svc experiences (or lack thereof) over the last 24 hours, i was about ready to cancel it, write to their sales manager, and call my state’s attorney general on monday – yeah, i was really po’d for just being blown off! thankfully, one of their CS reps called me back this evening, and although my order is late being shipped (i paid for 2-day shipping), he did give me an update and cooled me down. actually, i’m glad he did. i’m totally new to e-cigs and wanted a really good quality brand with the dollars i was going to drop and v2 was it – so, in spite of it all, i am still anxious to get my v2′s. maybe they have bad business organization (for now) but honestly appears to be a quality product.
like one of the previous writers, i also am considering having another brand of e-cigs on hand for the “just in case” times. if i’m understanding this all, the v2′s and the v4l’s have the same thread number (808-something-d1??) and are interchangeable. is that correct? your review on the v4l’s is also pretty good, and while i like the traditional flavors too (if i want a bowl of ice cream or fruit, i’ll go to the fridge…lolol) i think some of the battery colors are kinda cool.
so, my long-winded question is this: am i correct in that the v2 and v4l batteries, cartomizers, chargers, etc. all fit each other? i’m really determined to get off tradtional smokes.
(and btw, thanks for the ‘andyg311′ coupon for the v2′s that i used from your V2 review!!)
6 months with V2, never got order without having problems, right now March 20,
still waiting for order placed. great costumer service with the live chat, but I am wondering if it is really worthy all the stress. Placed an order for another brand. Will let you know how it goes.
Thanks
Ordered a kit from V2 3-8. Finally shipped and (via USPS tracking) shows leaving Florida this evening 3-21. Looking forward to getting the kit to give them a try. I went through a supply issue with Safe Cig and had the same kind of customer service problems for about a month and a half. They finally seem to be back on top and getting amazing service again. Now that I’m getting cartridges again, the delay on the V2 isn’t so critical and hopefully they’ll soon get a handle on things as well. I do wish they along with Safe Cig would realize that if they would just be up front about things we customers would not get so P.O.’d. Being told on numerous occasions that your order has shipped only to find out days later that it has not just about ends it for me with any company. Makes me wonder if I can trust them at all in the future. At least now I’ll have more supply options.
Andy, Like another poster I’m curious about the compatability with V4L. If they are the same batteries, will their batteries and chargers also work with each other?
Hey Rick,
How’ve you been? Thanks for coming back so often to share your experiences with e cigarettes. It’s making this a much better place.
To answer your question – I’ve changed the V4L and V2 Cigs EVERYTHING and never had a problem. They are virtual clones and I know they will advise against doing so but you can swap out the cartridges, etc, without any issue in my experience.
Andy
*For anyone out there thinking of “not buying” V2 Cigs – listen up.
I just spoke with people there regarding many derogatory comments made on the blog and also just a general consensus of how customer service is handled there.
To clarify things, V2 Cigs had a major breakdown in their database and many orders were missing for a 3 day period. They have since been recovered. Since they process 1,000′s of orders per day, yeah, many were delayed on their order, which is a shame. But when you run the numbers only a minute percentage is here voicing this in a public forum.
If you read the comments people are posting, (obviously I do every day) which is backed up by conversation and personal witnessing of their operation, Customer Service is friendly and quick to state when they erred. Obviously they don’t want to publicly voice their IT issues, being in IT consulting I can’t blame them. (no credit card numbers were confiscated to rest assured you are all good) but it did cause this delay. Things are back up and running smoothly and orders are going out as usual.
Nobody questions the quality of V2 Cigs, they are amazing. However, their fast growth has led to many growing pains, and it’s important people know that.
If anyone has a situation I can personally assist with, please email me. I have the back of consumers and an inside track to get things handled at V2 Cigs.
Andy
Andy, I feel compelled to chime in: I don’t know why- perhaps luck- but I have had only positive experiences with V2. Their product is far superior to all the others I have tried, and when my very first auto battery didn’t function properly, they sent me another within a few days.(My manual more than sufficed in the interim).Their batteries are tops! I have had issues with the cartridges not being the best quality- some “duds,” but I know they are working to fix that issue. I am currently using blanks with ejuice that I am really enjoying.
My orders have always been filled and delivered in a timely fashion, within 5-6 days- I’m on the East coast- and I have not had one bad experience with this company.
I don’t understand these really mean-spirited rants, but I can only imagine they are actually experiencing serious frustration about their orders. Still, I am certain that even with delays, the orders are always shipped, which means the company is not perpetrating some fraud or scam which would be a valid cause to report to authorities.
I have been a satisfied customer since Christmas and intend to remain with this company. The staff I have spoken to have been tops and bend over backwards to help, advise and facilitate. I do have three people only that I speak with because we know each other by now, but I imagine all their staff are well-trained.
I just had to put my two cents in because I am so happy to have discovered an alternative to tobacco and a realllllly great product. I wish V2 well and hope their current disruptions/issues are resolved quickly- and everybody is a satisfied as I am.
Thanks!
M. Rhodes
First off Andy, I love your website and it has helped me greatly in my e-Cig experience. But I don’t know how anyone can defend v2. I mean their excuse now is their website being down. Last week you posted that they said it was because of the Chinese new year and factories being down, even though problems with v2 started before that. They keep telling me that my order will be shipped at the end of the week then they say next week. One CS person actually tried telling me it had already shipped. I dont know if it was a simple mistake or they tried lying.
Its this kind of stuff that is screwing up their company. I have friends that ordered menthol carts in February and never got it because of a back order, yet they post a menthol St. Patricks day sale? Thats not the only story like that either. Other companies have my order shipped out within a few hours. Growing pains or not I can’t seem to figure out why it takes v2 more than a month. If my order isn’t shipped by the end of this week I’ll cancel it. Which is a shame because I really want to try v2
Yep, me too! I read the blogs about V2 charging your card and then not shipping what/when they said they would. I spent more time than I would like to admit researching e-cigs. I came SO close to going with someone else but assumed people love to complain and chocked it up to that.
I spoke with customer service and they were very, very helpful when it came to placing my order. I asked 3 people (chat & email) about the lead-time. They (supposedly) painstakingly went through all my choices and said EVERY item is in stock and my order would ship in 24 – 72 hours, & I quote, “but more like 48″.
Now it’s been a week and they told me that it won’t ship for another week. When I asked how did probably 2 days turn into 2 weeks? They said they’re really busy b/c their website went down. Then they should have said it would take 2-3 weeks, especially since I placed my order after the system issues. I would like to trust them but I’m not sure if that’s smart and I am seriously considering cancelling the order.
Now people are having issues with the cartridges. I’m very concerned. I don’t really have the money to throw away. My biggest concern is the person on chat ended with, “we will NEVER be delayed again.” Who in their right mind, with honesty as a goal, would say such a thing? That is an impossible statement to live up to.
As for “Mr. Rhodes” – hmmm, having a tough time not seeing any affiliation with V2, personally. I would like people to know that actually when they charge our cards and lie about lead-times, and do not call the consumer, they actually ARE breaking the law – see info from the FTC. It just depends on whether or not anyone will report them. I’d rather not b/c I see the troubles e-cigs are having and I’m not a mean-spirited person. However, if you get to that 30 day mark, you could very well be SOL with the FTC too. If you are offered a 30 day return policy I wouldn’t let those 30 days run out waiting on a shipment.
Rachel,
Ms. Rhodes has emailed me personally and I can vouch that she is NOT affiliated with V2 Cigs. She’s thousands of miles away and has an entirely different career interest. I thought the same thing but have traded many emails with her and enjoyed getting to know her. Not a plant, trust me I sniff out spam and over-selling very easily and take pride in monitoring this forum to keep things real.
Andy
Andy, I went with what you told me and went with the V2 e-cig. I placed my order over a week ago on the 15th. Hours later their website went down. I waited it out until I could chat with CS. I have been in contact with them everyday since. CS has been great for the most part, but it seems like they just keep saying it will ship the next day. I understand their problems. I am just getting restless because I was hoping to have it last weekend and it looks like I won’t get it now til next week. I don’t want to bad mouth the company I just want what I paid for. CS has been good though, most of their representatives are very nice and have calmed me down about the whole thing and even credited me for shipping costs. All I can say is I’m going to remain as patient as I can for now (hopefully all this will change very very very soon).
Zack,
Good attitude. If I can help you, email me personally. I can’t stand when people who don’t get “supply and demand” and “website upgrades and server issues” come here and attack a company that’s doing its best to grow into something special. Again, you have the right attitude, but if you grow impatient, email me I’ll personally see to it you are taken care of.
Thanks for Visiting.
I’m another new customer who is frustrated with their customer service. I’ve copied and pasted their reply below to my recent email. In my opinion they should not be filling the St. Patrick’s Day sale orders until they are caught up with the older orders. I placed my order on March 12th and my credit card was charged on March 13th – no order received as of March 23rd. I’ve already received 2 orders from Vapor4Life during this same time frame.
Most companies, large and small, when presented with a problem of this magnitude will do whatever it takes to resolve the problem – if it means people working around the clock so be it. Why isn’t there a message on their home page – giving us an update on the problem and throwing us a bone for being patient?

Subject: RE: Your Order From V2 CIGS
Donna, I apologize for the delay with your order. Last week we did a system upgrade (this has never happened in the history of the company) which unfortunately delayed our shipping department. During that time very little orders were being shipped because older orders placed before yours needed to go out but weren’t accessible for a few days. We finally were able to get our old system up and running towards the end of last week and the shipping department has been focusing on getting these older orders shipped (this put us roughly 4000 orders behind). Also, during the time that the system was not working properly, we had a sale on St Patrick’s day which put us even further behind. They couldn’t stop the sale because many clients were already anticipating it and had been holding off on placing an order until they could order their menthols at a discounted price. Right now it is hard for us to estimate when an order is going to be shipped since old orders as well as new orders still need to go out.
Since we are experiencing these delays, our Customer Service department has had an unusual high call/chat volume which might explain why you have been unable to contact us. I am glad you tried via email because although I have not been able to reply as quickly as I normally would (due to the amount of emails I am receiving daily), I will always get back to you.
The bottom line is we are still working very hard on catching up – I know for a fact that our shipping department is currently working on shipping orders from the 11th and the 12th so your order will be going out shortly.
Also, as far as charging your card at the time your order was placed: the reason we need to do this is because as a company we do not generate enough volume of sales to put a hold on the charge until the order is shipped. At this time it would be illegal for us to put a hold on a credit card – which is the reason why you were charged on the 13th.
Again, I apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your patience with us.
V2 Support
well, after all of the order chaos (and yes, i was TOTALLY po’d!) , everything arrived today – all complete, correct, and working, late but here! even all 3 batteries and the PCC had full charges. took my last drag off an analog at 6.15 tonight and my first-ever draw on an e-cig about 7.30 (wanted to read up and check everything out first) – love it!!! may have (god, i hope) smoked my last traditional cig – after pk a day for 28 years! loaded up my std manual stainless batt and an 18mg sahara – i CAN do this – and really like it!! and i do like the V2.
that being said, i hope V2 will use recent events as points for business improvement. get out in front of it, be very candid, accept the knocks where deserved, thorough communication and follow-thru, no excuses, and customer focus. they have a good product and potential. if i can quit analogs after 28 years, their challenge is a slam-dunk!
anyway, fair is fair….i was totally unhappy with the order shipping delays, BUT it’s here and i am really enjoying my V2!
I’ve seen many emails coming to my inbox telling me “thanks” for keeping people apprised to a slight shipping delay at V2 Cigs. Patience is virtue, and if you’ve read this blog since it’s inception, you know the difficulties that importing components carries, let alone keeping up with a product demand that is second to none in the world right now.
Having a case of ADD myself, I can say I hate waiting in line, waiting for dinner, waiting for my check at my favorite restaurant, etc.
Look at it this way, folks. Whenever Apple releases a new product it’s on back-order at every major Apple Store. I know you don’t usually pre-pay for this and your money isn’t in limbo – trust me, I get that. But I’m just saying when innovations are made supply and demand is a tricky thing to deal with.
Thanks V2 for keeping my readers happy, and keep those discount codes coming if you are reading this blog.
Andy
I’m happy to report everything was shipped and received, only a couple days late. I love the product! Everything seems to be right on track – after what I read I was almost not going to order, but it all is fine and dandy well at least my order was.
Andy, you are right, peppermint is delishious!
Hey Michael,
Thanks for your comments and sorry for your experience. A few days ago I asked someone from V2 cigs to come and jump in the thread to clear the air on any situations. I have got numerous emails the last few days saying “thanks”and that they cleared out their back order. (These were from other consumers of course.) Not sure what’s up – if anyone from V2 Cigs is out there, I’d love to hear you chime in and clarify what shipping policies are right now.
First, Im from mexico, sorry if my english is not good. Im new in e cigs and reading the reviews of v2cig I really want to try it, maybe the shipping time will be a problem but I can deal with it for the best product, But I cant deal with wrong items shipped or getting my ultimate kit without some charger or another item loosed, DOES ANYONE HAVED THIS PROBLEM..? because to get this cig it will be a large adventure, first they will ship to mailbox, then my bro will pass it to mexico, and then he will ship it to my city. All of this because is very difficulte to buy to another country from here, So it will be impossible to send itemes back again if they come wrong. Thanks and this is a great site.
Hey everyone. I just heard back from a Manager at V2 Cigs. They are busy servicing your orders but will be here TONIGHT to issue a statement.
Stay tuned,
Andy
I was originally very happy with my Safe Cig and still am but since they were out of cartridges most of the month of Feb. I decided V2 was the brand to go to. Yes, they were also experiencing delays but believe it or not, not nearly as bad as Safe Cig so I ordered on 3-8 and received my kit on 3-24. As frustrating as this time was since I could not seem to get cartridges from anywhere I could tell from browsing other e-cig brand web sites they ALL appeared to be having a problem keeping up. To keep from going back to tobacco I actually drove one evening about a 45 mile round trip to a truck stop to buy N-Joy cartridges which will work with Safe Cig batteries.
However, let me state for the record: V2 was worth the wait. The amount of vapor these things put out is nothing short of amazing. With a lot of e-cigs you strive for the perfect technique to extract the most vapor. With V2 I actually realized I was putting more effort into learning to draw less not because more is a bad thing but just sometimes it was more than needed. The cartridges may not last quite as long but with the amount of vapor they put out the only way they possibly could go longer is if they were at least two inches longer. I still use no more than two in a long, busy day.
Batteries and charger have been flawless so far and I’m very impressed with the total product. Makes it a little more understandable why they were having difficulties keeping up. In other words Andy, as usual you were right on target with your support of this product. I’m confident they will get caught up eventually if not already and I for one am a new V2 fan.
Thanks to your reviews and info provided here I now have two e-cig brands and it’s the two that I’m convinced are the best.
To all V2 customers posting here on the forum -
My name is Karl and I am the Channel Sales Manager for V2 Cigs. I would like to personally apologize for any negative experiences you may have encountered with V2′s shipping and order fulfillment. I have read the forum posts, heard the nightmares of waiting… and waiting… and being told different stories by customer service as to WHY these orders have not been fulfilled. I would like to offer an inside explanation – not “excuses” – as to why these issues have arisen and what steps our company has taken to rectify them.
The company’s “stock response” has been that V2 Cigs’ order fulfillment has fallen behind schedule due to “system upgrades,” which is 100% true, but I would like to offer a more detailed explanation:
On March 15th, the V2 Cigs website and shopping cart system was upgraded from one software platform to another, which resulted in some issues with integration and access to existing order details. Although V2 Cigs was able to restore its shopping cart functionality overnight, customers were still unable to access their existing orders, as these orders were processed within the old shopping cart software. Technical difficulties with the old shopping cart system delayed the export of this data for several days, and customer service was inundated with telephone calls and they have been working diligently to manage the processing of new orders while attempting to provide accurate status updates on existing orders.
The purpose of this migration was to provide V2 Cigs with much greater control over our data and order management.
Regarding existing orders and inventory on back-order, V2 Cigs has a vast inventory presently in-stock, and our shipping department is working around the clock in an effort to get caught up. I can assure you that we take each and every one of our customer orders seriously. We have already addressed shipping and customer service issues as a result of our company’s “growing pains” in fulfilling our ever-expanding sales orders, and we continue to expand our endeavors. Yes, it is true that our shipping department is moving to a larger facility, which marks the SECOND move in 6 months due to our exponential growth. In fact, we will be opening 2 additional shipping facilities – one in the U.S. and one in Europe – to meet the needs of our expanding customer base.
All I can say is, we’re working on it, and it’s getting better every day…
I hope this at least provides a more thorough understanding of what we are going through to continue to deliver the same quality smoking alternative that has made V2 Cigs the fastest-growing brand of ecig on the market. We truly are striving to be #1, and we continue to take our customer feedback into consideration as we develop better and more innovative technology into our products. Your success stories drive us to be the best, and we thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to grow and make adjustments along the way.
Thanks for helping V2 Cigs become the fastest growing brand of e-cig on the market today!
~Karl
Hi everyone,
First of all, thanks to Karl for coming here and posting the update on V2 Cigs. I hope everyone can now order with confidence and without hassle.
Very impressive reply, and knowing Karl personally I can say he’s always been a man of his word.
I can relate to the growing pains, in my day job of being a consultant for many brands and managing their fulfillment and business structure, I’ve seen it happen time and time again. V2 Cigs is doing a good job all things considered, and I hope everyone can thank Karl for coming by and posting such a thorough reply.
Thanks again Karl and best of luck with V2 Cigs.
Andy
Hi. I’ve been reading your blog for a couple weeks or so and I’m glad I found it. Definitely more informative than just another site trying to sell you something. I purchased the V2 starter kit on March 12th and am just now getting my package. It’s ok, they explained their situation and it made complete sense, that’s fine. They even sent me 5 free cartridges with my order for my wait. Not so bad. I was an almost pack a day smoker for quite some time and have tried to quit many times but just couldn’t quite fully kick the habit. Well, I can say to anyone out there who hasn’t tried V2 that from my experience so far, I can’t see myself needing another analog ciggarette. The V2 gives me the ‘throat hit’ that a regular cigarette does and it taste just fine. I got the Cowboy Red flavor, I used to smoke Camel Lights but this is just fine. I’ll have to try their Sahara. The customer service at V2 was very helpful and it’s obvious they’re in a transition period. Other than the wait, I can’t complain one bit. This may be just what I needed to quit for good. And it’s so nice not to have to go outside every time I want to smoke. I’m pretty happy with my order.
One more thing, I was wondering about carrying my e cigarette around with me? If I were to go to a bar or a concert would it be ok to keep it in my pocket or would it be best to find something to carry it in? Thanks!
Hi Ray,
Absolutely. I have my e cigarette in my pocket just about everywhere I go! V2 Cigs sells a lanyard that goes around the neck that’s pretty cool as well.
What a relief to hear from Karl! Courageous and much appreciated, indeed!
Hopefully, it will be smooth sailing from now on, for both V2 and their ever-increasing base of loyal customers.
Always best to get past worst-case scenarios as soon as possible, and you seem to have weathered the very worst of the worse admirably.
I am glad to know that V2 is back on track and will continue to thrive and prosper for a very long time to the benefit of all its fans, especially this one!
M. Rhodes
Andy,
I’d been diligently researching e-cigs for about two weeks when I came across this site. From your review, and checking the V2 website out myself, I decided to order with them just yesterday. (thanks for the discount code!) I was especially impressed by the amount of information this company provides to its customers, in plain english and without gimmicks and a lot of clicking, about their product on the website. That transparency was really the deciding factor for me. It made me feel comfortable and secure in my decision.
However, being used to the standard Amazon quick-as-lightening shipping notifications, I checked my order status and saw that it was still waiting to be fulfilled. So naturally I flew into a convenience-induced panic and started looking up the negative reviews related to late shipments and out of stock items. A pit in my stomach started to form. I even contacted their live chat assistance to ease my mind and convince me that I hadn’t been robbed of my money for a product that may never show up and might prove to be inferior. The response I got was vague even with some prodding, but satisfactory, since as a customer service rep myself, I know that it can be a slippery slope when garaunteeing completion/shipment times. My confidence was still a bit rickety, but after reading Karl’s post I feel better about the whole affair. It’s fortuitous for me that the announcement came within a day of my order. Again, transparency is what counts.
I’m almost literally frothing at the mouth to try my first e-cig, but if what I’ve heard is true it will be worth the wait. I want very much to be happy with this product and stick by what I initially perceived as a great company to do business with.
Thank you Andy (and Karl), for your good information. I will surely post again once I’ve reveived my V2 cig.
I like the cases to carry extra batteries and cartridges but always keep the assembled one I’m using in my shirt pocket.
MY ORDER HAS SHIPPED
Thank you Brian at V2 CS. I appreciated the explanation but just wish it has been done earlier; I understand about computer hacking and it would have made a great deal of difference in my attitude. I certainly hope they are worth the wait. My daughter really likes the SafeCigs I gave her.
Andy, I received my order last Saturday and I have been loving it since. I haven’t smoke a cigarette since Monday morning. I didn’t really plan to quit smoking right away with my V2 but it is making it a lot easier than I thought it would be. I probably will end up smoking occasionally with my friends, but it is nice to know I don’t NEED to smoke. With that said my only real complaint about my order (which is no a big deal to me) my black automatic battery has a red LED when I thought it would have a blue one. My black manual has a blue LED so I don’t get why they would send me one with a red LED. Like I said it isn’t really a big deal to me. So far I am really enjoying the menthol flavor which gives me a lot of vapor.
Thanks again Andy, if I didn’t find this site I probably wouldn’t have had the guts to go through with buying the V2.
I ordered a starter kit on Thursday, selecting FedEx 2-day, and it arrived this morning. So far, I’m very impressed with both batteries and cartridge flavor. This is my first try with an electronic cigarette and aside from the weight being much heavier then a traditional cig, I recommend everyone try V2!
After a few weeks I did finally get my v2 started kit. They even sent me an extra pack of carts. Whether by mistake or to try and make up for mediocre customer service and shipping delays I don’t know but I’m not complaining. I’ve only ever tried 2 other brands of ecigs so I dont really have much to compare v2 to. After reading reviews that didn’t contain negativity about customer service and hearing about how good this product was I was really excited to try it. But after a week of using it I feel let down. It’s a good product but overall I personally don’t feel like it is as good as Premium which is what I usually use. The quality doesn’t seem as good, just seems cheaper to me. Plus, I’ve had the end of the carts come off or get pushed in. I’ve discovered some of them are even made differently which I thought was odd. I don’t know if anyone else has had this problem.
The flavors also did not seem as good, I thought Premium had better flavors in all but coffee and chocolatte in the flavors they had that were the same. Although I thought peppermint was good and Premium does not offer that. And sahara is probably the best of the traditional “tobacco” flavors I have tried, although I’m not a fan of tobacco flavored ecigs. Although Premium is still my main brand I will continue getting things from v2 sometimes but only because of the price. They’re much cheaper on most things than Premium and theres a bunch of 15% off discount codes out there. I’m also super excited about banana and coconut which hopefully come out soon!
Got my shipment today and it was DEFINITELY worth the wait. Barely inhale and great vapor. Excellent menthol flavor (once it gets primed). Sorry Blu, you lose.
Update: just spoke with a V2 rep and now they tell me my order hadn’t shipped because they were out of the V2 Red cartridges and “had been trying to contact me to see if they could substitute another flavor”. No one had contacted me and no one one had answered my message from April 1st. And as I previously mentioned, I was told before that the delay was because of their new flavor coming out.
Also, from reading previous comments, it appears others have placed orders after I did and they have received their orders. I mean, really?
*Sigh*
Growing pains or not, a continued lack of competency, communication, and honesty will ensure your failure, especially if you’re a newer company.
just received my order in the mail from v2 cig and am very upset with their customer service and support. i had called customer service and had asked for the long battery, the young lady who helped me went over my order with me, but neglected to tell me that the extra long batteries do not fit the cases that came with my v2 ultimate kit, when i called customer service to complain i got the run around and spoke to a ‘ superviser brian’ and was told i had to fill out forms and send my batteries back before they can credit my account back,or i can hold on to them for a month and maybe then they would have cases that fit the long batteries ??? we were hoping to educate our staff and patients on the e-cig…after what i went through , i dont think so.
Cathrine,
Nothing to worry about – if you have an issue, contact me asap – I’ve been a pretty good liason for consumers and have made many “wrongs” “right.” V2 has a great, great product. Worth waiting for.
Andy, I know you have contacts at V2 and you may want to let them know that the delays in shipping just can’t go on if they expect to potentially get new or keep potential customers. I had ordered a V2 starter kit from them and today just had to cancel the order, two weeks and no movement on the order is a little extreme. Even some of the companies that are touted as far worse in customer service are able to get orders out ALOT sooner than this. They just lost a V2 starter kit order and the refill orders and had I liked my wife’s over my current brand, who knows, maybe mor battery and other accessory sales, but just couldn’t wait any longer, had to cancel the order, so again you may want to just pass it along.
The delays are hurting their business a bit, they just can’t continue to do this and not expect it to hurt business.
Scot,
Agree with you 100%, it’s something that needs to be improved. Sorry to hear of your experience. The words will be passed along for sure.
how come my comment has not been posted as of yet?

Hi Andy,
Like many on your forum, I have really enjoyed reading the true reviews on the V2. I did quite a bit of research and back in January purchased a standard kit from V2. At first everything was great, except I couldn’t order the 12mg menthol at the time because they were sold out, so I had to switch to 6mg. I loved the flavor, vapor and feel of the product and became very excited that I had found a replacement to my standard cigerettes.
Once my orginal cartridges ran out and I needed to reorder is when I began to have problems. To make a long story short, I have two batteries manual and automatic that came with the standard kit that doesn’t work anymore and though the company keeps promising to replace them I do not get a replacement in the mail. Luckily the manual one works well enough that I can still use the product, but have to put up with it occasionally not working and producing vapor. I have yet to be able to order 12mg menthol or peppermint and every time have to switch to 6mg in order to get my order filled. I’m very disappointed because I really do love the product but their customer service and constant supply seems lacking. I personally am close to just switching to something else.
April,
Really sorry to hear about your experience. Is there anything I can do? If so, email me. andy @ bestecigarettesreview.com. I get pretty good results for my blog readers. Let me know please….
Hi Andy,
I love your site, like you said so many sites contain outdated information. Based on your reviews (and many others I ran across) I ordered myself and my husband each a standard starter kit from V2. We were really anxious to receive it so we opted for overnight shipping, and received them both the next day. An amazing product to say the least! We have not picked up a regular cigarette, but looks like it’s going to be inevitable. I placed the order for the refill cartridges and two extra batteries and a standard kit for my brother, again paying for overnight shipping. Yesterday, my order was still showing awaiting fulfillment, so I gave them a call and they proceeded to tell me that they were out of the Red, the Congress, the Peppermint and the Chocolate and that was holding up the order. I asked them if they could just cancel that portion of the order and ship the standard kit I had ordered and the menthol cartridges and I could substitute the Sahara for the Red, I was told that if I canceled any portion of the order it would cancel the entire order, I would have to reorder and would experience a longer delay. So since I definitely don’t want to have to smoke a regular cigarette, I ended up substituting about $80 worth of cartridges for the menthol just so the order would ship. They assured me it would ship today. I check back today and they proceed to tell me that now my order is held up again because they are out of the standard batteries in both white and black?! Ok so, they substitute for the silver and tell me I will receive a tracking number in a few hours, they were going out today. 5 hours later, still no tracking number so I contact them via chat and am told they are not sure when it will ship, maybe in a day or two and have the audacity to offer me $5 off my next order, now mind you that right now my order is over $300 and about 1/2 of that is in items I didn’t order initially but substituted to avoid the shipping delay. It is a real shame that they are losing business because they can’t just be upfront and say they are out of stock. Additionally, my credit card was charged for the order within minutes of pressing the send button. I went to their facebook page and simply wrote that it would be nice to know that they are experiencing delays and they are out of stock on certain items (I was not rude at all) and they deleted my post and blocked me from their page (along with anyone else who mentions that they haven’t received their order). I have just used my last cartridge and looks like my order will not be here as promised. I am going to order the Safe Cig and hope that I can put the regular cigarettes down as quick as I did with the V2. I have seen Karl’s post on several different websites, but I would say the current delays are due to lack of stock. Which really is a totally understandable situation, but the fact that they are continuing to make excuses rather than just putting a note on their site or facebook page saying “We are out of stock on the following items…”.
Sorry to write you a book, I am just really upset, I haven’t had a regular cigarette in over a week and I could almost cry knowing that tomorrow I will have no choice but to buy a pack. Thanks for listening!
Hi Michaela,
If I was running a company with inventory issues I wouldn’t take orders from people if I was out of stock. I’d tell them the company would call back when it’s in stock, AND offer a discount or free pack of cartridges. I’ve always advised online businesses – going back 10 years – and one rule of thumb is to never process a credit card for an out of stock product UNLESS the situation is told to the customer and they are okay with it.
Just my two cents. I’m sorry you had an issue. V2 Cigs customers – ask questions and understand when your order is coming – or accept a possible delay – that’s my best advice for you. They truly make great products, but if you are in a rush, ask questions. (My advice, do it on live chat so you can copy/paste and have proof of the conversation).
A phone chat never goes remembered nor shows proof.
See, I am here for consumers!
Have a great Wednesday everyone!
Ok so for some reason I’m reading a lot of negative comments and now I’m worried. I placed my order today. The live chat team is awesome. Tried my first v2 cigarette from s friend today. Amazing. Ordered the same one she had so hopefully it it jus as good. Also, they didn’t let me know they were out of white batteries until next week? really? They told me shipping was 2 to 3 days. How r they constantly out of things. They only had the silver one. So I won’t get my order til late next week. I wish they’d let people know before they order. I jus hope I’m not disappointed with it when it comes. I don’t want anything leaking. At least we have a 30 day money back offer.
Ok I ordered my v2 cigs on Tuesday and received them today. After all the reviews I was scared but iam very pleased at how quick the shipping is yayy! And the e cigs are amazing. I let my mom try it brother and friend and they all are going to order. Iam so excited. Smoked one real cig today only because they werent here at the time but haven’t needed a real one since. Unbelievable. Jus hope the cartridges last as long as they say. But very happy. Thanks v2!!!
Hi Corinne,
Thanks for posting – enjoy your experience and please get back to us with further comments. From my experience they have always had among the best-lasting cartridges.
Ordered my standard starter kit on a Friday, got it the next Wednesday, and the two other orders I’ve placed (Cartridge batch order and power cig) both showed up extremely fast. No problems at all with delays and the quality is amazing. I’ve convinced 3 of my friends to switch already!
Just want to say that I LOVE V2! I did a lot of research before ordering my first e-cig (V2)and boy am I glad I got with the best right out of the gate. Got my first kit on October 22nd last year and haven’t had an analog since (will be 6 months at the end of this week!). Yes, there are sometimes delays because they are growing so fast. But the customer service is the best I’ve ever experienced and the product can’t be beat. I’ve learned to place my order for more carts well in advance of needing them so the delays don’t leave me without any. I usually order when I’m down to 15-20 carts (I use about 1 per day) and that has worked very welll. I highly recommend going with V2 (even with the occasional delays). It is so worth it! Never thought I would be able to quit my 40 year, pack a day, habit. But I did!
I have been using Greensmoke and Red Dragon (basically the same product/carts and batteries interchangeable), Greesmoke carts are much better. I have been going back and forth between V2 and SafeCig, the issue being customer service problems and shipping delays with both of them, even though everyone seems to love the products. I am curious if anyone has tried or knows anything about ValporNine or Smoke Frii. I hear their good products and great customer service, but not much info or reviews out there.
I have tried a couple of different e-cig providers and while I thought some were really poor (this is back in the smokeAnywhere days), I do happen to like V2cigs because it is easy and you can buy in bulk. I tried V4L and I used to love them but I happened to be very very disappointed by a customer service experience that left me thinking that while I have spent most of my e-cig money there over the past two years and referred tons of clients, they had absolutely no concern with keeping me as a client the second I had a problem. So I opted for an alternative. I found a company that was compatible and se la vie. I have also tried more hearty brands like an e-go but to be honest I just like the simplicity of the V2cigs (kr808) line. For me it is the most reasonable purchase and I will continue to buy from them regardless of any shortcomings they may have since they actually seem to care about their clients. Anywhoooo I am proud to report that I am still vaping successfully with V2cigs
can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I got my kit but when I hit the cig i dont get vabor and when I hit it hard I end up coughing but then i get vabor? Thanks
i am an Avid 2 Pack a day smoker..and my wife is a Pack a day smoker..we are seriously considering ordering the V2 Kit…just kinda skeptical on wether it really works or not…im type of person that likes to try something before i buy…do they have a Sampler kit available so we can test out this V2 Cigs…
Hi Peter,
The V2 Economy Kit is your easiest way to try the products at a comfortable price point. It’s an affordable $64.95 and if you use code “AndyG” you’ll save 10% more.
And yes, it works. Great vapor production out of the V2 batteries, 99% of people will agree with that assessment.
Hi Andy,
I’m looking for an e-cig that really ‘tastes’ like the real thing…I took my first step into the e-cig world a couple weeks ago, and I think I stepped in ****. BluCigs really has some great marketing, and a really attractive price range. But IMHO the taste is awful. The vapor production was GREAT. But i couldnt stand puffing on it for lack of a good flavor. I’ve been smoking Camel Lights for going on about 13 yrs, just switching to the Crush’s recently (really like being able to switch to menthol for a change). I’m thinking that either the V2 Sahara or TheSafeCig classic might be able to satisfy my cravings, but wanted to hear what you think.
Really wish I would have found your site sooner.
Thanks.
Fred,
You can’t go wrong with V2 Sahara or the Safe Cig Classic, the latter being one that I highly recommend if you are looking for that real taste. I have enjoyed the Blu Cigs “Cherry Crush” flavor but am a seller on the tobacco flavors – they have a great vapor but each company is unique and good/bad for different reasons. I have yet to find a better cherry taste and I was a big clove smoker before – so that is a turn-on to me.
Did I answer your question? If not, email me. All my best wishes – ANDY
V2 is the only e cig I’ve tried, so I can’t compare them to anything but cigarettes. It may be too early to say that I ‘was’ a heavy smoker of nearly 2 packs daily. However I have the confidence to say that V2 has helped me become a non-smoker for 4 days (what for the past 18 years would be completely unheard of) and have no reason to suspect I’ll go back. I had some urges, but after a few long puffs and chocking it up to nostalgia; the urge past. I waited about a week after ordering my starter kit and it was still awaiting fulfillment, so I contacted the online chat. I was told of the back order problems and reassured that they would arrive within the week. Four days later they arrived. I was a bit stubborn at first about giving up my cigarettes. Yet finally went to e cigs exclusively. Since then, I’ve ordered from the V2 site on 3 separate occasions. The first one arrived in a timely fashion and the other 2 are being shipped without delay. Over-all, a great experience.
Erin,
Good to hear you are a happy V2 Customer, they continue to impress me as they grow and get things figured out. If you ever have any questions or queries, we’re all here to help.
Thanks for your comments,
Andy
Have just started (about 2 weeks) using e-cigs – am using Blu cigs now – like the charge pack, the fact that carts are made in US and use glycerin instead of propylene glycol, BUT am very unhappy with battery life. Am thinking of trying V2 if for no other reason than extra long battery! How does the battery life of V2 compare with others?
Of the e-cigs you are familiar with, which has the longest battery life (would like to have charger pack and glycerin carts as well ….)?
I switched from Blu to v2 and couldn’t be happier. I know they have supply problems so I just order big whenever they have a sale and wait for it to come in. Batteries last about a day for me. I carry 2 just in case. Used to smoke 1 1/2 packs a day.
Having read the above posts, I wanted to let anyone who’s thinking about ordering a kit from V2cigs that I ordered one yesterday and it’s already shipped–that’s according to FedEx and not V2 as well. I had no problems whatsoever. As Andy has already stated, it is never a bad idea to hop on their live support chat, describe the order you’re about to place to the rep, and have him/her verify that each piece you’re including is in stock. I wanted 2x manual batteries in white with my Standard Kit (instead of 1x auto and 1x manual) and I was told that I would have to wait if that was the case. I asked if black would be ok and was told that, if I changed my order to 2x black manual batteries, my order would ship within 24-48 hours. It ended up shipping in about 8.
I thought this might be useful info for anyone’s who’s a little scared of ordering for fear of huge delays. I can’t vouch the product because it hasn’t arrived (although it doesn’t seem to need any more positive reviews), but I have nothing negative to say about the customer service.
I have used other ecig products.. Hands down V2 is the best.. The others seemed to be messy and I would get the liquid all over me and it irritated my lips.. And I went straight back to traditional cigs. Now I have noticed my lungs are really paying the price for all the yrs of smoking.. So I did some research. V2 had such great reviews and offered a manual button.. Which is so much better than the automatic. You have the option to get either. To each his own thow.. So I ordered the ultamite kit. SO AWESOME!! In alot of reviews alot knocked their shipping.. I had no problems at all Miguel Took my order and took a few calls from me too. They were kind and I had no problems with my shipping. I must say anytime I order anything I always opt for the one day shipping.. And I must say I ordered my Ultimate Kit at 730pm on the 10th and it was here in 2day’s!! The Utimate kit has everything you need. And the price is AWESOME!! I love the V2 ecigs.. The quallity is unmatched and the service was easy and imformative. The flavors I have tried is Red and its a sweet smooth tobacco. Saharah and it isn’t a smooth as the Red.. Not my fave but good thraot hit! Cherry, sweet and not over powering.. Vanilla, Nice and smooth it has the real flavor of vanilla bean.. I was so impressed… And soon Ill try the others.. Of all V2 has won me over! I am so happy to have this product and will recomend this to all and any whom cross my path that smokes.. Thank you V2!! Bravo..
Bravo!!
Got Traveler’s kit – love the notebook cig and auto charger – can use notebook cig with it in car – great, no more having to fumble with battery change while driving!
But have issues with battery charging – put battery (long) in USB charger/wall charger – hours and hours later (even overnite) light on USB charger still red. Tried it in travel charger – still indicates red. Very confusing, cannot tell when battery is fully charged! This is a problem …. Any answers to this?
Hi Sue,
Haven’t heard of this before. My advice would be to hop on live chat and ask a V2 Cigs rep. They are usually quite helpful.
Hey Andy. I ordered the V2 couples kit last night. It has already shipped according to the V2 website and FedEx. I ordered V2 because it gets very high reviews from everyone. Lots of people complain about shipping issues. I’m a little scared about that, so I’ll be ordering my cartamizers in large quantities well before I need them. Thanks for your website and blogs. You basically sold me on the V2, Andy. I also saw your video on YouTube. I think you should do more video reviews. Your style is great. I like how you just get down and talk about the important stuff, then your done! Hahaha! No goofing around. I do have a question that maybe you will be able to answer. I see that V2 has custom flavors that can be made to order. How accurate are the flavors? For example, does mountain dew really taste like mountain dew?…or does it kind of taste like it if you close your eyes and really, really try and imagine it tastes like mtn dew. Haha. You know what I mean? Anyways, great website. Keep up the good work.
Hi Kyle,
Thanks for your comments and all the nice things you said. It means a lot. As far as the custom flavors, I have not tried them. I did read on the V2 forum that people were raving about the Mountain Dew flavor in particular, and I know many people swear by custom mixes. In my experience, the more off the wall the flavor, the further from the “real thing” it is. For example, I had high hopes for the Vapor 4 Life Margarita, Beer, and champagne flavors, but they all sort of let me down. My favorite flavor to date is the Peppermint V2 Cigs flavor. If you didn’t get that one yet, try it. It’s pretty refreshing.
Thanks again Kyle and come back should you have any more inquiries.
Andy
Hey I really need help in figuring out Wich brand to go wit…I narrowed it down to the safe cig, green smoke and v2..please help me my kids are counting on u guys..lol
Kelvin,
If you spell out what you are looking for as far as experience, flavor, strength level, price, etc – me or one of my loyal readers can help. It’s hard to make a suggestion without knowing a bit more about what you are looking for.
I’m trying to get my wife to switch to an e-cig but she complains they are too thick and don’t feel like a real cigarette when she holds them. Are they all the same size or are there slim models? Thanks!
I just bought my v2 travelers kit and am very impressed with this. I havent tried any other brand, I’m a “noob” to this whole vaping thing. I could not believe how real the experience was. It really does feel like a cigarette. I’m a very happy customer and would recommend this product to anyone thinking about switching or quiting.
I’ve been vaping since the beginning of this year, my resolution to give up clove cigs. I started with the blu cig starter pack and ordered extra java flavor. Great java flavor but the transition to an E cig was a bit of a challenge. I drew so deeply and fervently that they didn’t last long at first but I persevered and ordered more. I do like the weight and feel and the change to the two piece design kept me from poking around to much (it’s a me thing). Then I decided to try a larger (3 inch) e cig and ordered the starter kit from V2. Two batteries came with it one manual and one auto. The batteries and the cartridges last longer, but the flavor intensity of the vanilla and coffee is not as good as the blu. I since have gone even bigger(4 inch), since bigger is better, with a V2 battery and although it teeters between my fingers when I hold it in the fashionable manner it truly is a good long vape. I have had some battery issues with both brands but a quick on line chat or a customer service email and both were there to serve. Four stars to both. So I say go for it, you are not married to just the one brand, go ahead and try another.
Andy,
Your advice about the V2 cig was really helpful. I started using it about five weeks ago. Increased to 18 mg because the hit wasn’t enough and I was vaping all day. I’m using only 1 1/2 cartridges a day. I’m still looking into the e-liquid for the V2. I would be easy to refill. I’m just not sure of the number of drops per cartridge and which brand is best. any suggestions. Thanks, John
I tried the SafeCig first, but had to return their kit because I did not like their flavors. I’m using V2 Red now. The V2 standard battery does not last as long as SC’s, but good enough. V2 carts, while cheaper ($1.60 in bulk), don’t last long. Sometimes, they only last 100 – 120 puffs, half a pack. Compared to a cart that last 250 puffs at $2.50, V2 carts may not be that cheap. Shipping and customer service were good. Got the starter kid across the country (FL – OR) in 3 days! Do not use FedEx ground shipping cross country, takes twice as long as USPS Priority Mail.
I love this thing. I used discount code ANDYG. How Awesome! I like menthol and vanilla personally.
GREATEST thing ever! I love the V2 everything from its style its promance and their flavors! I bought mine in stainless steel to me its so classy and I don’t think Ive seen it offered any where else at least as the same price as the other colors! For me with the V2 as soon as a got it I started using it and it was that simple to stop smoking normal cigs! Good luck hope you love your new V2!!!!!
I really enjoy my v2 elec cigs. I have a problem with my cart. not lasting very long. I love the cherry. 1 cart. only last me for a couple of hours. I use the whole box in a day. I am not saving any money but I hope I am helping my health.
I just started using the v2′s as a fathers day gift. My kids bought me the ultimate kit and it comes with great accessories and seems to be the best deal that they have. I got the v2reds and congress flavors and really enjoy the Congress. They taste more like the Marlboro’s that I have smoked for the past 17 years. The only downfall for me is that I smoked Marlboro lights so when these came they suggested I switched to medium for a more realistic experience. I think I’m going to try the full 18mg strenth next time because the hit still isn’t like a real cigarette. I’m determined to make this work though so hopefully the full strenth will do it for me. Congress flavor is great though!
I too love the V2 flavors and agree that the carts don’t last very long at all, maybe 120 puffs max. The price is good for the carts in the products description but they say 150-220 puffs, so in the long run with only getting 120 puffs the price falls in line with other companies. Its a good thing they have a warranty on the batteries because I have had 3 replaced in 2 months. I wish the battery and cart problems did’nt exist because the flavors and vapor are great.
That is very true Wayne, the carts do not last as long as advertised and the batteries so far for me have been just junk. I am going to exchange my batteries here and hopefully get some good ones otherwise my 30 day money back deal is going to be over and I won’t be able to change to another company without dropping more $$$. Good thing they have such good taste or I’d already have sent these back for a full refund.
My husband and I started over a week ago and haven’t gone back to a real cigarette. It’s fantastic. We got the ultimate kit and it was perfect for us. Comes with everything you need. We have smoked for 10 years over a pack a day. It’s incredible…if you can’t quit using V2 cigs then you probably can’t quit at all – it’s almost like cheating!! My parents who have smoked for 30 years are using them too, I recommend this to anyone who smokes! My husband and I love the vanilla flavor – the smoke feels heavier than the red flavor.
Hi Christina,
That’s awesome! I’m super happy for you! Congrats!!!!!
Got these day before yesterday, and puffing pretty much whenever I want, I just finished the first cartridge. The Reds are OK, but the Coffee flavor is absolutely delicious. I got the standard kit…the battery holds a good charge, and even though it seems confusing, everything is easy to use. All you do is screw your favorite flavor “filter” and start puffing.
Use the code “AndyG” to get a 10% discount on your first kit!
Thought I’d mention for those folks complaining that the V2 cartomizers don’t last. The white plastic end pops out and you can refill it with your favorite flavor. Unfortunately V2 doesn’t sell their own flavors, but I really like the flavors from Vapor Station, and it is much less expensive than constantly buying new carts from V2. 8 or 9 drops will fill an empty.
I have been purchasing from v2 cigs for about 6 months now. The product is great! The amount of vapor produced is incredible. The flavors are strong. The battery life will last all day or more depending on how much you use it (even with the shorty cig). There are only two issues that I have experienced with v2 cigs and their product. The first is more of an annoyance than a real problem. Every so often you will receive a defective cartridge in your order, where there will be little to no vapor and it is very harsh. I have also noticed that certain flavors produce a lot less vapor than others i.e. cherry or chocolate. My main grievance is the shipping time. I have placed 13 orders over the past 6 months and had the same problem with each. The website states “All “In-Stock” orders are shipped the following business day if received by 6pm on the prior business day.” However this is never the case. When I first started purchasing from the company, orders would take almost a week just to ship. After contacting customer service I was informed that they just didn’t have the production ability (people or space) to keep up with the high demand (understandably so). Now that they have a new website, new building, and more people it has gotten better, but still, they have never shipped next business day. I generally contact customer service after each order I place and I am given the same excuse each time. Due to the high volume of orders, they are backed up on shipping and my purchase will likely ship in a few days. I placed an order on Thursday morning 2 weeks ago and it shipped on Monday. After placing another order this Thursday morning (10:31 a.m. est to be exact) I was told by customer service that it will ship next week sometime. I love their product and that is why I keep coming back, but if I find another company with a similar product that can provide more reliable shipping, I will likely switch.
i just got my v2 cigs yesterday and OMG these are awesome!!! i was using pure smoke cigs when i found your site and they helped me cut down but their atomizers are horrible over 1/2 of them didn’t work or made the cartridges taste like burning paper, then 1 of my batteris messed up bad, they did send me a new kit but the atomizer in that kit didn’t work either but i had already order v2 during the 4th 25% off sale + i used your code and got 35% off.. v2 batteries last 6 hrs and cartidges last 7 where as the pure smokes died after like 3 hrs.. v2 just taste better too and has tons more “smoke” and the flavors are good the red and congress both taste good cherry is ok.. i highly recomend v2 and thank you for telling me about them.. Brian
First day with my V2. Loving it. Have only had one real smoke today. The cowboy is ok but I can’t wait for them to get the Sahara in full flavor. My battery lasted all day and my cartridge did too. I have to say the manual battery is definitely the way to go.
I bought the greensmoke brand & I couldn’t be happier, especially after reading these reviews. My batteries hold a good charge and their new cartridges taste great. I strongly recommend this product. I ended up getting their starter pack, which mifht be a little pricey for some but the cartridges cost about $3.00 each, so ultimately you make that back up. Hope you make the right choice for yourself, I would at least start with greensmoke…. good luck.
Started V2′s the beginning of July. Dropped tobacco the second day. As reported in such places as WEBmd, it’s not only the nicotine but the physical connection that is so hard to break. After 40 years of smoking, this chance to break from tobacco was to good to be true. But, it worked for me. I can maintain my physical connection and have the chance to eventually break free from nicotine (if that’s my choice). The math is pretty overwhelming. $45.00 for a carton of the most popular brand of light 100′s. 40 V2 carts = $65.77 ($1.65 each/includes shipping cost/and one of the many coupon codes out there- 10% off). Even if I went through 2 carts a day (I was a pack a day smoker) – still around $1.20 cheaper. So…let’s see. No more lighters, ashtrays or tobacco being sucked into my lungs, no more cough, no more searching for a smoking room when traveling and on and on. Regardless what others say – this has been my way out. I believe as time goes by the quality, acceptance and availability of e-cigarettes will improve. I think it is ridiculous to think that a smoker would need this product to be officially classified as a smoking cessation product to be interested in giving it a try if they want to break free from tobacco.
I’m really having a difficult time deciding which brand to go with. I originally purchased the Red Dragon e-cig back in 2009 and it was terrible. I ended up blowing $120+ on something that I used for a few days. The diameter of the e-cig was too wide and it was heavy. The cartridges constantly dripped onto my lips or they were DOA, etc. I smoke about a pack a day of Marlboro Lights (now known as Gold) and I really want to stop. I’m torn between the V2 and Blu. Can anyone tell me which one is the closest in size to an actual cigarette? I like Blu’s elegant packaging, and PCC. But I also like V2′s reviews, flavor choices, etc. I just wish V2 had a PCC like Blu’s. (Fits in my pocket better I think) But both seem to have shipping/logistics issues. Any help would be appreciated as I don’t want to blow (no pun intended) more money. I just want to find the right fit for me. Thanks everyone and thank you Andy for your site!
Kevin,
Flavors and size probably give you a lean to V2. The blu cigs are actually a bit smaller in size. I highly recommend v2 cigs!
Kevin, I really would recommend the V2 shorty. It’s very much like a regular cigarette.
Thanks Andy and Eric for your recommendations. Based upon that, I am going to order the V2. However, I live in the Miami area and was hoping to actually hold & try a V2 before purchasing (being that they list their address as Miami Beach) but according to V2 they do not have a storefront that I can just walk in to. Which strikes me as a little odd and interesting, you would think they would at least have an office that I could visit to see their products. So I decided to drive to the address they have on their website and wouldn’t you know, it is a UPS Store address in South Miami Beach. Didn’t go to Blucigs as they are up in North Carolina, lol! I wonder why they are setup like this? Wouldn’t you think they would have a real office? Do you think they are just a “mom & pop” operation running out of their home/apartment and ordering the products from China? All in all, it doesn’t actually matter but good on them for their success with their product and they are a wonderful example of American entrepreneurship! I was just hoping to physically see their products before buying, kind of like at the mall kiosks (i.e.Smoke Wherever, etc.). Anyways, I didn’t get to try any new e-cigs, but I’ll post back to let you know my initial thoughts when I get my V2 Shorty. Thanks again!
Hi Kevin,
To answer your question, V2 Cigs may have a Miami Beach mailing address, but they do not have a retail store there, nor a corporate office. They are located off the beach. I have been to their office and it’s nothing short of amazing. 60+ people were working there when I was there – and they were all busy. This is a mail order product, so there is no “walking in to browse” or anything like that.
To call them a “mom & pop shop” is absurd, and if you don’t believe me, just open up Maxim Magazine this month. Bam! V2 Cigs. Don’t like Maxim? There are several other magazines out there where V2 Cigs appears. They even gave me a sneak peak of their upcoming ads – it’s unreal what these guys are up to.
V2 Cigs has a REAL office. REAL expensive, real infrastructure, and real people. I can’t say this for any other brand because I haven’t been invited to their offices, but V2 Cigs did invite me there so I can speak from experience.
Andy, thanks again for your info. My apologies, I didn’t mean for the “mom & pop” statement to sound derogatory. I have seen the ad you were talking about in Maxim. I agree V2 has done an awesome job and has placed a good bit of banners throughout the web. I was just thinking that maybe I could visit their place of business and hoping that maybe in their front office they would have on display some of their products. I was just worried about blowing more $ on another e-cig kit that was the same as Red Dragon. It just took me by surprise that it was a UPS store, that’s all. As a retired veteran, who has smoked way too long and trying to get my wife to quit as well, I really hope this product works for us. Done the tobacco cessation courses, patch, etc. Was even contemplating acupuncture! I’m glad to hear that you got a tour of the facility. I look forward to receiving my V2 products. Thanks again for your info and your blog.
Kevin, my pleasure – you will LOVE V2 Cigs. I certainly do and so do thousands, if not millions, of ex tobacco smokers.
ANDY,
IF YOU HAD TO CHOOSE BETWEEN GREEN SMOKE & THE V2, WHICH WOULD YOU CHOOSE AFTER USING BOTH, WHICH ONE WOULD YOU BUY? THANKS FOR ALL THE GREAT INFO ON YOUR SITE IT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Jeff,
That’s a question that needs more information from you to answer.
What do you smoke? What type of things do you look for? Flavor?
I’ll gladly help you out but I need some information from you first….
Andy, I cannot decide which ecig to buy for me and my husband!!!! I smoke Capri Violets (ulta lights) and he smokes Marlboro Silver (ultra lights) about a pack a day. I have never tried one but I important factors in order would be cost, the hit, taste, and vapor. I have been looking at Blu Cig, Green Smoke, and V2. Green seems VERY expensive but Blu Cig and V2 seem reasonable. Please help me decide. Thank you!
Jaime,
V2 Cigs is the clear option given your wants and price point. Use “AndyG” and follow this link on the page below to save some more cash.

Well i bought the travel kit and all i can say it is the best kit i have tried yet . V2 has the best selection of assessarys for the money . I think they upgraded to a 4.2 volt battery .The vapor with the manual battery’s is awsome . The flavors are good . Thanks for the discount code . And thanks for all the work on this site.
How good are they about their warranty? Both of my manual batteries, have lost the top and one of the buttons doesn’t work.
Amazing. Call them, they are very reputable and have first class customer service.
I just turned 53 and have been smoking since I was 12. For the last 25 years I have been a 2 1/2 to 3 pack a day smoker. I tried 3 peice e-cigs in the past with very poor results and never went a day without smoking tobacco untill I tried V2 2 peice cigs. Bought a travelers kit with the flavor sampler. I strongly suggest anyone trying this out for the first time to get the sampler, if I had only gotten the tobacco flavors I would have given up because they don’t come close to tasting right so don’t satisfy my urge to smoke. However I found by not trying to recreate smoke flavors the others do satisfy a need to taste something.
3 weeks in and no desire to ever go back to tobacco. This is from someone who’s tried everything out there to quit many, many times. The long manual cigs last me over 7 hours consistently and I go through 2 1/2 to 3 cartridges a day. I have found that occasionally about half way through a cart that it will seem to die out, don’t give up on it so quick, there is a lot of use left in it just give it a rest and switch to a new one. When you come back to it later it will work just fine again. It seem to me that the fibers close to the atomizer must get dried out from too frequent use and need time for the juice to migrate back into the area near the atomizer.
I could go on for pages about what this has done for me. I don’t know anything about the quality of other brands because the V2 fills my needs at a reasonable price so I don’t need to look any further. All I can say is if your still smoking tobacco, try the V2 and you will be surprised at how easy it is to quit.
1 very happy EX-smoker
David
David,
Thanks for posting. Success stories like these certainly inspire others.
Andy,
I bought the V2 Cig as you suggested. I ordered it on August 10, 2011 and received it on August 15, 2011. Nice customer service and fast shipping (priority mail). I do have a couple issues and wanted your advice again. I can’t get a hit without sucking really hard; at least two, three hard hits and the hit is not great. I keep getting the liquid through the cartridge onto my lips. It’s not what I expected. I ordered Cowboy light should I order something stronger or just try a totally different ecig? Thank you
Hi Jaime,
If you are getting liquid through the cartridge, call the company and get a replacement. This could be a stale cartridge – sometimes I have had the same experience with items I’ve had sit around for too long. As far as having to suck hard – hmmmmm – has to be a battery issue I’d think? I suggest you contact customer support you may have a “dud” kit.
Andy,
Thank for the advice. VMR Products – V2 Cigs seems like a very good company and offered to replace my items. Since I had issues with both the manual and battery cig, I have decided to return them. It is probably a good ecig for some, but not the one for me. After watching your video on Green Smoke Flavor Max I have decided to order that one. I’ll let you know how it goes. Thank you for posting your comments and reviews of ecigs you are helping lots of people to finally kick the habit! Hopefully I can kick it soon too.
Thank you
In my experience V2 has been everything I could have hoped for. My whole ordering process went smoothly from beginning to end. I did A LOT of research before finally settling on V2 as my e-cig supplier, and since my starter kit arrived (back in March) I have not had a cigarette! V2 has many different flavors to choose from and so far all that I have tried have been fantastic. Their carts last at least as long as a pack of traditional cigs would and their batteries hold a long charge. I was also really impressed by the amount of vapor V2 e-cigs produce…very thick and smoke-like. I honestly do not miss cigarettes at all! In fact it feels like I am still smoking. They have many different batteries/cartridges/accessories to choose from and they have managed to mimic the whole sensation/feeling/throat hit of smoking an actual cigarette. I recommend V2 strongly to anyone interested in trying e-cigs. Not only am I saving money it is nice to know that I may also be saving my life. I have read where some had problems with V2’s shipping times and I can say that I have never had any problems at all. V2’s customer service is outstanding (no, I do not work for V2) and they go out of their way to please their customers. Not only is the product and customer service great but they are always running sales and have discounts… V2 has truly changed my life and it is wonderful to now consider myself a “non-smoker”!!!

Troy,
Thanks for the review. I did edit it a tad as I don’t allow people to add their “smoke for free” ID code here as I just get hammered with spam if I allow that. Appreciate the review and feedback.
I have high hopes for the V2, this our 1st try in buying an e-cig for my husband, so I just got the economy kit, but our house is newly remodeled, we have a baby, so he is no longer allowed to smoke in the house (unless w/the e-cig), not to mention, I’m hoping to save some money.
Hello,
I’m purchasing V2 soon and I have done some research and see that the Vapor 4 Life carts are compatible which is exciting because they seem to have more of a selection. My questions is how does the Vapor King compare?
My wife really wants a pink battery for some reason and I notice they sell those. Is there a noticeable difference between the Vapor King and the V2? If the carts are compatible would the chargers be as well? If so I might get the V2 couples kit and just order an additional battery from V4L.
Any response is greatly appreciated,
Dan
Hi Dan,
They used to be similar, and obviously compatible. BUT, recently V2 Cigs upped everything and they have much more quality products. It’s night and day now, I would not recommend Vapor 4 Life. Previously, I did, because it was apparent they were similar. However, after about 7 months and a lot of investment into their products, V2 cigs has a much better device.
Don’t let Vapor 4 Life’s cartridge selection fool you – most are not very good and rarely in stock. Just looking out for you and your shopping experience.
Andy
Also any idea where I can find a good version of the illustrious Mountain Dew juice? Ha
Thank you
Dan,
I am 99% sure if you contact V2 Cigs they will take care of that request.
I’m here to confirm what others are saying about HORRIBLE shipping times and not having their product in stock. I placed an order last night (Fri) and contacted customer service this morning (Sat) to confirm my order…at which point I was told they are out of chargers and cannot ship until they come in…MAYBE early this week or MAYBE not. So I told them to cancel my order, and they told me it would take 3-7 business days. So basically I’m now forced to wait regardless of whether I use their product or not…and I don’t have the money to order another product right now. So I decided I have no other choice at this point but to sit here and wait for the product to arrive. They did offer me a discount on my order and shipping, but I’m still VERY unhappy about the fact that they are selling a product that they DO NOT have in stock. It’s a shady way to do business…IN MY OPINION…I should have gone with BLU which was my original choice…the only reason I didn’t is because I read bad things about their batteries, but I have a friend who uses BLU and has nothing but great things to say about them. I hope this post helps steer people away from V2, because their product fulfillment SUCKS.
V-Poo,
This is certainly an isolated incident and NOT the norm for V2. They have a 50+ person customer service center and the best fulfillment in the industry. I’ve been there personally for a tour. You simply caught them at a time when product is out of stock, that’s all. Blu’s and V2′s are totally different prodcuts, but if you do choose blu cigs please come back and provide a review for us.
Goodbye Safe Cig (fed up with lack of customer service)…Hello V2. Awesome batteries. Love the Sahara flavor.
Thanks for the update Rick. For everyone who doesn’t know, he’s been a very active poster here and is always providing updates, feedback, and reviews. Thanks Rick, much appreciated.
I first ordered a V2 kit back in Feb/March when I couldn’t get Safe Cig cartridges and was impressed with the batteries, flavors and vapor output of their carts. Due to the fact my wife and I both had Deluxe Safe Cig kits. we stayed with them once they got restocked but I still ordered V2 carts. from time to time and really liked their vapor and flavors. Recently Safe Cig had more problems and again really wouldn’t answer e-mails. That was it for me so I ordered more V2′s and I must say their vapor and flavors have improved even more. Quality product. I understand they also have new and improved batteries but my old ones are fine though I may have to try a new one just out of curiosity. I love the Sahara and Red flavors and looking forward to trying Congress again. I think Sahara’s my favorite.
Andy,
If you’d like, e-mail me (I lost your e-mail address in a computer crash). There’s another one I’m currently trying out and very impressed with so far. Like to tell you about it & get your take on it. Thanks.
Rick, I just emailed you. Great to hear from you again. Look forward to your email!
ANDY, I am new to the e-cig thing and am having a very hard time figuring out which one would be the best fit for me. I smoke Marlboro red label (mediums) and I want to make sure I pick e-cig that feels basically the same. I tried one brand N-JOY and it was awful, didn’t taste like a cig at all and had a sweet taste. I really want to quit smoking so money is not an issue at this point. I just want to make sure I get that good throat hit and it tastes similar if not the same. Thank you so much!! Please help
Hi Leah,
Your email was returned to me. I sent you a few suggestions along with coupon codes. Please advise.
I purchased the Cig2O 22 days ago and smoke for 35 years and it’s truly helped me to not smoke regular cigs again. My question is are the V2 a better brand than Cig2O?
Hi Felecia,
Never heard of that one – I’ll check it out and revert back if you provide me with a link.
ANDY, I just realized I put in my old email address the other day, so hear I am again

Hey Andy. Which strength of the V2 Congress should I purchase if I’m looking for the closest replica to a Parliament? Thanks for all your help!
Hi Coleton,
The strongest they offer, I believe it’s an 18 but if they have higher, get it.
I find it hard to believe that the V2 office is staffed with 60+ people. I have been using their product for almost a year. Every time i call i get either someone named Manny or someone named Jason. I can even tell who im speaking to now by voice before they say who they are to me. Its Unfortunate they also run out of stock often. If you order online, there is nothing in place to tell you that they do not have stock in the item you ordered other than an email sent to your v2 account a day or so after the fact. They do have a great product, i can not lie, and the taste is outstanding. But what good it is, if i order product with plenty left at home to last at least 2 week, only to be told once again that they are out with no expected shipment time. The carts are faulty many times to. Either they were made to small to fit the battery or they are duds. You cant return them because there is no way to prove i didn’t smoke them first (of course) so out of an order of 40 carts i may get to actually only use 35.
Jane,
Believe it. I saw it with my own eyes. Their CEO gave me a personal tour of not only their office, but their warehouse below. Please don’t call me a liar, as they occupy an entire 8th floor in a nice part of Miami’s design district. I have nothing to gain by giving false information. As a business consultant I can tell you that most customer service operations “snake” their calls so the most experienced reps get the calls first, and the least experienced get them last. Or perhaps you call at the same time, (like many people do due to work) which is why you get the same people answering your calls.
I do thank you for sharing your experience, and look forward to continued updates on your experience with V2 Cigs or any brand.
Hello-
I am trying to find the perfect e-fig for me. I have it narrowed down to Green smoke or the V2. I have smoked for 15 years, camel lights usually. I got a job where I can’t smoke, so I need something that is as close to a real one as possible. I have the “smoking anywhere” and I hate it. You have to inhale really hard and it tastes like crap. So, I’m looking for something that is easy to inhale and produces a lot of smoke. I also need something that has an extra battery and that will last 12 hours. Lastly, I don’t want something where I constantly have to buy additional things to keep using it. I’m on a tight budget and I want one where the starter pack will last a while. Also, something that the refill are not as expensive as buying a whole new one. Please help me!! I spent $250 on my first one and I can’t stand to use it. I really just want something that’s reasonably priced, that tastes like a cigarette, and something where I’m not buying refill all the time. Thanks for your help.

Hello! I am like a lot of people here and am trying to find an good ecig for myself. I am 27 and have been smoking a pack of marb lights a day for almost 10 years. I am an ER nurse and see what smoking will do and would like to switch. Help! Can you give me some recommendations on which brand(s) would be a good place to start? Thank you!
Hi Lindsay,
What do you currently smoke?
I’ve smoked for 15 years and tried quiting many of times but failed everytime. After an extensive research I narrow down to v2 and green smoke so I took a chance with v2. This is the first time I’ve been successful at quitting well it’s only been a month but before I would only last till the weekend and the best part I don’t think about cigarettes no more that’s a first. But now I just love vaping my fav. Flavors are chocolate, peppermint, menthol and sahara. The only problem I have is the shipment issues so make sure your not almost completely out before you order more carts like I did and had to buy njoy just to get me by for 2 days which I really did not njoy . And yes for some reason I always get Jason or someone that is not him but sounds like him so funny
Glad you like V2 Cigs, Luis. I find them to be a great product and continue to recommend them.
Hi Andy-I am not a smoker, but my boyfriend has been smoking for 20+ years. He smokes Newport’s and I am looking for something that would be most similar to that flavor for him. I am willing to spend whatever it costs to get him switched over to an e-cigarette. Can you recommend what I should order for him? Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
I’m loving the Green Smoke menthol – it’s a bit more minty and fresh than other brands. that’s my preference and I used to smoke Newports myself. Make sure you click through a banner and use my discount code in the review to save a few bucks. It’s a great thing you are doing for your boyfriend.
Hello. I have researched e-cigs and am ready to purchase. I’m still not sure which one to purchase. I smoke Marlboro Smooths, at least a pack a day, and have for many years. I am looking for something that is reliable and that lasts. I often get up in the night and smoke when I can’t sleep. I work away from my home 10 hours a day so need a reliable battery. I was looking at the Green Smokes, but I have concerns about comments regarding items not being in stock. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.
Hi Brenda,
I sent you an email with a few suggestions.
hi Andy,
Thanks & i hope to hear from you, Kay
ive been trying to research E cigarettes for hours on the internet. It seems to me that the two that would suit me best are either the V2 or the White Cloud, mainly because they both seem to have a bit of a throat hit & a decent amount of vapour. Thing is firstly i just want a e cigarette that looks the same as a normal cigarette with the orange light when you draw back, think the v is a blue light hey? and i don’t like those coloured cartridges. White Cloud is so expensive. Not sure which companies would ship to Western Australia either, do you? It appears in the land downunder we don’t have available any e cigs with nicotine carts. i purchased one called social lites in australia. its totally useless, zero taste, no hit, no vapour, no nicotine, just left a bad taste on my lips. i tried a friends cigarti in vanilla which wasnt too bad, not a lot of vapour tho, and as i said just want something that looks like a normal ciggy. not really into flavours, i smoked winfield sky blue 6mg, so really confused what to get. i quit ciggies 6 weeks ago after a bad flu & don’t want to go back. i know i will want one when i go out & have a drink, this is a time i just can’t resist & i thought a good e cigarette may help me out. Can you please help
Hi, I have smoked Marlboro reds forever. I want to quit and have been checking into the vapor cigs. I am so confused at this point. I looked up different ecigs and then noticed different liquids. One of the liquids was from wicked that everyone was saying tastes just like Marlboro. Should I buy a different brand of ecig and then another brand of liquid? I would like to find the closest to a Marlboro Red as I can. I don’t really care about the price if I can find something to help me quit. I figure the savings of quitting will pay for itself in many ways. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks, ~Sherri
I recently bought a Breathe Fresh starter kit after spending a few days on the internet researching the best brands. Turns out i had been going to many fake review websites. a few days after i got the kit both batteries stopped working, and now i dont know where to go. Im very frustrated and I feel like if I try again the same result will come. Can you please send me an email with what you feel are the best brands? I smoke Marlboro reds and an occasional menthol. I just need to make sure the next time i purchase an e cig i wont fall into a scam. Im very interested in looking into V2. Thanks
Hi, Andy. I tried safecig and did not like it, so I tried V2cigs and I am pretty happy with them. I’m a little dissatisfied with the fact that some flavors have less vapor than I would like. I saw the new cartridges available at Greensmoke. Do you think it is worthwhile for me try them? Is there that much of a difference? The main flavor I like with v2 cigs is sahara and, unfortunately, that is one I don’t get the vapor I would prefer. If you think I should try Greensmoke, what flavor is closest to sahara? Thank you for your help.
Hello Andy,
I have decided to quit smoking. I am a very passionate smoker, the one who enjoys holding the cigarette, puffing.. and I believe nikotin is just one small part of my addiction (1 pack a day of light cigarettes like Malboro black, Vogue slims purple, they became a bit too light now etc.). I feel that e cig can do the trick. So I would like sth that feels like a cig but with which I can get rid of my addiction and use it just from time to time. I like the design of blue but according to your review I am not sure whether there is enough vapour and it seems more appropriate for social smokers. I would appreciate advice.
Thank you for help.
Hi Suzi,
Blu Cigs is more popular with social smokers, that is true from all the comments here. I’d suggest V2 Cigs, Green Smoke, and Bull Smoke. All have things that make them unique, and if you look at their offers you can probably see which one best fits your desires.
I live in new south wales Australia and I am wanting to start smoking e cigarettes I’ve looked into a few and the v2 defiantly seems to be the best my only concern is how would shipping to Australia work because I’d regularly buy carts by the fortnight but I am concerned at there arival time and shipping time ( how long will it take because I don’t want to be left high and dry) if you can help with this that would be great thanks
Daniel,
I know V2 ships to Australia without issue. I know Bull Smoke ships worldwide as well. Other brands I’d have to research more and see what the current situation is, but those ones have been in touch and told me specifically that there are no issues with shipping to Australia.
V2 cigs is great… when the cartridges aren’t duds. I read a review that said out of forty cartridges, 35 might be good and the other five duds. I would be thrilled to have that many good ones. Out of forty I had THIRTEEN duds. One out of every three cartridges were bad. I was told that was unusual so I didn’t expect the next shipment to have as many bad ones, but the first one out the box was a dud. If this continues I’ll find a new brand.
I have been smoking Newports for almost 10 yrs now and I really need to quit smoking and I am completely clueless to this whole e cig things and need help finding the one that would fit me bestl. I need something that taste and feels close to the real thing pls help me!!!!!
Christina,
Fellow menthol smoker here – if you smoke Newports you’ll find a great fit with Green smoke’s menthol. I do at least.
andy ive been using whitecloud e cig for a while now i smoke non menthal and i use the xxreglar as my cartridge problem is that is still not strong enough for me have you tried any e cigs that you thought were just crazy strong and also was a good e cig
Hi Chris,
Many brands offer the 24 mg tobacco flavors. I suggest you try one of those as they are the strongest I’ve sampled.
Hi Andy! Well, i am still very confused on which ecig you actually recommend. Seems you have good to say about all! I am a pack a day, Ultra Light 100′s smoker. Recently i had some serious medical issues and know i need to stop or harm myself further. I need to find which ecig would b best for me. And the lower the cost the better. Also would like some kind of guarantee on them, as i had purchased one in past and it didnt work at all, so did get refund, but would hate to have one a month or so and then it just stop working and no guarantee..Anyway i appreciate any help!
Vera,
I try to summarize the best brands on the home page. Each are unique in their own way. There are plenty brands to “avoid” which you will find if you spend more time on the site. A huge body of work went into this site! If you smoke Ultra Lights, look for a 6 mg nicotine offer. Lower cost, well that brings up two offers at present time. I have V2 Cigs which is 15% off right now (basic kits are in the $50 range) with AndyG15 as a code, and Bull Smoke is 50% off all starter kits plus I guess you technically get rewards points, as another user pointed out, and that can be used for future purchases, which would save you another $10 in the the future. So that brings you to $49 for a kit with two batteries and 15 cartridges. (Use “NoFire) for that one. Those are the best options from what I can decipher in your comments.
Best of luck.
Hello Hello!
Like everyone I am trying to find a good ecig for me. I have been dissapointed before when they first came out. I want one with a full vapor, lifetime-or very high warranty, and a full flavor. Ive smoked Parliment Lights and Marlboro Reds for over ten years and am looking for something similar. I have spent countless hours researching but i still cannot decide becuase i dont know what sites are real or not. SouthBeach Deluxe and Smoketip both have the new atomizers with every cartridge and a lifetime warranty. I haven’t seen these on your site. V2 seems it can be difficult to order from but the last ecig i tried couldnt even find my order to replace my defective unit so I’m sure anything would be better than that. Has anyone tried the brands I have mentioned? Thank you so so much! Much love have a wonderful day!
Katie,
V2 Cigs difficult to order from? No…not at all. Them, Green Smoke, or Bull Smoke work based on your needs from what I read.
Your site is very helpful in deciding which brand to go with, thanks. But I’m still not sure; I am primarily a pipe-smoker, haven’t smoked a cigarette in many years, and when I did I smoked Nat Sherman Mints. I’m looking for an e-cig that; is close to the size of a cigarette, provides good vapor and an easy draw, and has a good tobacco and/or menthol taste. Most of my smoking is done at home, and for a night out, I’ll probably smoke once-or-twice. I’m torn between Safe Cig Micro, Apollo, Volcano, or V2. Which of these three do you think fits my needs best? Thanks for any advice.
If you are looking for an experience that provides a battery near the same size as a cigarette, the Safe Cig Micro is hard to turn down.
Hi Andy, Thanks for the great information. It’s my third day on “the patch”. I am already sick of not being able to have a drink of coffee in the morning or have a beer at night because of what each will lead to. Everything that you have posted here is great (including that from your visitors), but was wondering what e-cigs last the longest. You have a lot about flavors and the devices, but I’m not sure which I’ll get the most “smoke” out of. Any thoughts?
Hi Robert,
Oh, the patch. Been there, done that. Didn’t work for me personally but I wish you the best in your quest with that.
Last the longest? Hmmm…..are you asking about battery life, or cartridge life? Those are different answers in my experience. Let me know and I’m happy to revert back.
Hi Andy,
I’ve been vaping for almost a year now. Use Nhaler to order my stuff – so far it was good until my last shipment when the menthol had no flavor and didn’t seem to cut it for me where nicotine is concerned. None of the e-cigs I have seem real enough to work for my boyfriend either. Thinking he’s too old school for the new looks? Either way, I’ve been reading up on the ecigs that look more natural and noticed you didn’t have anything about South Beach Smokes on here. Seems all the other sites do. Any particular reason why?
Hi Misty,
I haven’t tried South Beach Smokes – not for a lack of back and forth with them. I’m also not really high on auto-delivery programs. (Forced continuity.) Maybe I’ll give them a shot and be impressed with how it’s run, but for now, I’ve got a back log of other brands where the marketing reps are really forthcoming about sending me kits, etc.
That’s the one thing holding me back too – the forced continuity as you put it! I was hoping there would be a way I could refill the carts myself, but guessing they wouldn’t make it easy. But hey, thanks for the reply!
Is there a brand you would recommend for him? He smokes menthol’s (usually whatever is on sale), but mostly camel or Marlboro brand…Didn’t think it would hurt for me to try something different either. I’ve got several different kinds of batts and liquids, but those are a pain in the *** as you said in another post (worded politically correct of course) And the stress at work has me falling back on cigs these days
Misty,
The menthol Green Smoke unleashed in their “flavor max” update this July is truly a delight to menthol smokers!
Holy cow forgot to proof my questions. So embarrassed. Sorry, Mary
Hi Andy,
I just purchased the V2 couples kit last night and got an e-mail today because the Menthol and Sahara flavors I ordered with the kit are out of stock. So, I ordered half Red Medium “old recipe” for my husband and half Peppermint Medium for me (I smoke a pack a day of Misty Menthol 120′s and figured the Peppermint might be the closest thing to menthol for me). Do you think the Peppermint flavor will get me through??? I have a backorder of Menthol Light on order with them – will that compare to the Misty’s do you think???
QUESTION: can I order Green Smoke cartridges and use them with the V2 batteries if I like their menthol flavor better and have issues with “duds” as others have???
Thank you!
Hi Charlie,
No, don’t use the Green Smoke with V2 Cigs. Doesn’t fit properly by design.
Do I think the Peppermint flavor will “get you through?” Hmmmm. Well, I personally love them, but not knowing your habit or tastes makes it impossible to answer. I do really enjoy the peppermint cartridges, and I think you can push through with those just fine. Menthol light and Misty’s are very comparable, that’s a good fit for you.
Any other questions? Here to help.
Hello Andy,
read all the comments and all your reviews and, since you seems very confident with all this stuff, have decided to ask your advice or an opinion.
Personally, I am very skeptical about all that e-cig products. I have tried 4 different brands, like joycig, smokefree etc, none of the top brands(according the your chart) however. All of them are stating that their cartridge last for as long as a pack of regular cigarettes. In fact, none of them last eve4n as long as 1 regular cigarette and the cost of one cartridge is from $1.00 to $2.00. Fortunately, since all those brands are using separate cartridge and atomizer, I was able to use be-liquid to refill used cartridges and I start using joycig exclusively because of then low cost of the parts(which don’t last very long). But lately, I bought 14 spare atomizers and all 14 of them were defective, didn’t produced any vapor and I am pretty pissed and I am down to 2 good one without any hope to get more good one any soon.
My question is: are you confident that, V2 for example, one cartridge will last for as long as one pack? I mean, you and I both now how long one pack of regular cigarettes really last, right? I’ve been smoking since 1977, while I was leaving in USSR, moved to USA in 1992 and was dreaming to smoke Marlboro and I did but about 7 years ago I quite, “cold turkey”, no gum or parch, just quit. But I missed it a lot and a year ago had a Christmas gift from my wive and here we are. So, what would you say?
Hi Igor,
Your mileage will vary on the lifetime of cartridges. It’s really hard to measure because there are so many variables involved. (Most people agree they “smoke more” with e cigs as well). It sounds like the brands you tried were all pretty “subpar” to say the least. They don’t get the best reviews here or on other forums. If you have any direct questions, please ask them as I’m here to help.
Hey Andy.I stumbled on your vids on youtube & have been hooked. I’m really diggin the V2 reviews. Do you recomend that or something else for me? I smoke Marlboro blend 27′s & reds. I want to quit smoking altogether. So i need good real taste,& good vape.size & price matters too, but more on the taste & vape. Thanks a lot for your help & keep it up!!
Hi Brian,
Thanks, those videos have helped a lot of people and I’m happy to do them. You’ll get the thickest vapor from V2 Cigs, and with their prices and the way the brand is going, I am hard pressed to suggest a brand over that for a first time e-cigarette smoker.
Hello all,
First off, thanks Andy for this web site, it has been very informative.
I was curious to know if anyone has ever ordered e-cigs (thinking of getting V2) and had them shipped to Brasil successfully? I am pretty sure all e-cigs are banned here, even though you can get normal smokes pretty much everywhere. I’ve gone back to social smoking as I am slowly quitting but still like a smoke with a drink. I want to get V2 Red without nicotine. Has anyone tried this flavour before or any flavour sans nicotine? If so, which brand would you recommend? If it does not contain nicotine, would that circumvent any prohibition on importation? Cheers for any help.
Hi Andy – enjoy all the info on your site. I thought SafeCig was for me but sounds like they’re having lots of stocking/customer service issues, so I’m looking at V2 and hoping they don’t have the same. I currently have an e-cig (not one mentioned or reviewed by you), however the “traditional tobacco” flavor leaves a sweet aftertaste which I don’t like. I’m looking for an e-cig that has a true traditional tobacco flavor with no sweet aftertaste. I currently smoke Virginia Slim Ultralights if that makes any difference. Obviously quality and customer service are also important. Does V2 meet this? If not, is there another that you would recommend instead Thanks for all your great work on this topic
When you look for customer service, three brands come to mind. Number one at the moment being V2. I wouldn’t hesitate to order from them based on your preferences. Today is a great day for that with the huge storewide sale.
Thank s Andy. Wow fast response too! I will be placing my order tomorrow since they will have a 1 day sale for 20% off & I’ll press my luck & see if I can also use your promo code and do what you have told other to do & stock up! Thanks again, you are truly the guru!
Hi again Andy.
Just received the refills from the magic mist. They fit the safe cig but don’t taste as good as the safe cig menthol. But they will do in a pinch! Just had another online chat with TSC. And guess what!!!! They are now saying inventory will be in “within the next weekend!!! Not sure what the h*** that means. This is the same story I have been getting from them for 2 weeks. And he said that he is only a customer service rep and has nothing to do with the inventory team!!! Guess what I am ordering right now????!!!! You guessed it V2!!! Thanks for the 15% and their 20%!
Hey Joyce,
Thanks for the report! Enjoy your V2 cigs and do let us know how your experience went!
Hey Andy!
I also had seen your video and it was one of the many that helped sway me to V2. I researched the snot out of these things because I, like many others, wanted the best product/bang for my buck/smoking (vaping) experience possible. V2 exceeded my expectations which with my skepticism says volumes. I am definitely a noob trying my first ecig a week ago (the disposable BluCig). I liked it a lot and was going to go the Blu route. Glad I didn’t. When it comes to flavors, I’m also glad I can’t say that I hate any of the flavors. It’s just odd when comparing the ‘tobacco’ flavors. Hard to give an accurate description because you just can’t compare a marlboro to a V2 Red…. I don’t know. Like many others, you want to match your old ‘brand’ to a vaping equivalent. I, for one, haven’t found it. Wasn’t crazy about the Red, the Congress is okay and Sahara is not too shabby. I ended up liking all the non-tobacco flavors the best, which surprised me. Anyhow, I’m thrilled with my purchase, glad to quit regular cigs and telling all my smoker friends about it. Best thing to come along since the iPod. Cheers!
Jeremy,
“Best thing to come along since the iPod.’ Great quote!! Thanks for coming by, and all my best. Let me know if I can ever help you with anything.
Hi Andy!
Just wanted to give you an udpate. Haven’t receive the V2 yet (of course) just ordered yesterday. They are a bit overwhelmed by the response to their sale. So in meantime I am using the Magic Mist refills on my safe ciig. I am using my 3rd cartridge. First one only lasted maybe 24 drags. It got really burned tasting. Second cartridge was pretty much a dud. Third cartridge was better but still has that burned taste. So right now I would not recommend the magic mist. Email from them said that they are working on their quality issues. They also said they would refund me for all unused cartridges and to send back the lousy ones too. But since I have not gotten the V2 I am forced to keep using them. I WILL NOT go back to real cigarettes! But will send back any unused when I receive the V2. Now for the V2 customer service. You are absolutely right. They are great! All chats I have had with them so far seem to be honest. They do not hesitate to tell you anything. I hope they continue this. It is great to be able to “chat” with someone who actually answers your questions instead of giving you a company line. As for Safe Cig – They are STiLL out of stock on many carts. And are TOTALLY out on Menthol. I never knew there were so many menthol smokers out there! In my smoking world, I have always been a minority! What gives?
Andy,
I was looking for an e-cig for my Mom. She smokes Virginia Slims Ultra Lights. Do you have a recommendation as the which would be best for her? I’m deciding between V2 or Green Smoke and also was wondering which flavor/strength would be best for her.
She’s been smoking for 40 years and I have to do something!! Thank you so much Andy!!
Can’t go wrong with either brand, Ryan. I think you should either look at the Green Smoke Absolute Tobacco or the V2 “Sahara” flavors.
Andy:
Just wanted to give you an update. Received the V2 today. So far it is pretty good but I have to say that I do like the The Safe Cig menthol better and it seems harder to draw a drag on the V2. I guess I will have to get used to it like I did with TSC. V2 customer service is absolutely great! And shipping was pretty good. Ordered Monday and got it Friday. Thanks again!
Andy
I smoke Carlton Menthol 100′s and would like your personal opinion on the best e cigarette for me
thanks
Green Smoke. I love their minty menthol. I hate to suggest another brand in the V2 Cigs review thread, and v2 cigs are GREAT, but I love the Green Smoke menthol and think it’s a great match for you.
Hey Andy,
I received my v2 ultimate kit the other day. This makes day 2. The looks & feel are out of this world! My biggest issue is all my carts have this horrible overwhelming metal taste to it. I can barely taste anything else & i even got the sampler pack & reds in 2 strengths. Before buying from these guys I had 2 others from the gas station (21st century & Premium)they didnt have that taste & had a tobacco-like flavor(though they didnt last at all). Is this metal taste typical in v2 or any other brand? I messaged v2 about my concern, but they are offline at the moment. Just wondering on your opinion on this.
Thanks!
Hi Brian,
Chances are you got a bad sample. This does happen from time to time. V2 Cigs is on top of customer support and will replace them I’m sure. It’s odd and few and far between when this happens, but at times a bad batch can get through the cracks as not every single cartridge is tested. Please let me know if I can help and how you make out. Cool?
The costumer service is top notch! They gave me a huge credit,so i was able to replace it at no cost to me.i cant wait to get the new ones in. Thanks!
Just wondering if anyone has tried the new refill carts and the smoke juice from V2? I just place my order for the Cowboy Red smoke juice and refill carts from V2. Everything i have tried from V2 has been great so i am hoping for the best!!! As a 16 year smoker i cant be more greatfull to the E-Cigs that helped me quit and provided a great alterative to smoking regular cigs. So i am giving them a try with refillable carts.
Good luck getting the juice from V2, Go to there forums. Alot of people that preordered arent even recieving there orders and CS is telling diffrent things. From what I have read last night they are out of the juice now and havent even filled there preorders but have charged everyone. Not right at all. I was a fan of V2 and still am of there batteries but thats about all. Last time I ordered there carts took over a week in a half to receive and half were bad and the other half werent up to par(not filled, burt taste after two or three puffs) CS gave me a small credit but no where near what they cost. I have now found another company that I am very happy with and there batteries and carts are great and they have real time invatory on there sight and ship same day if u order before two oclock. V2 needs to get on the ball or they are going to loose alot of good customers. They should be working on what they are doing wrong instead of trying to launch a new womens line and take care of there current customers.
Charlie,
Appreciate the heads up. So, everyone who wants to order the “e-juice line” of V2 Cigs – beware – it may be a few days. I’ll try to get word from a company exec on this. Stay tuned. (I did confirm that all other stuff is in stock, however, so order carts & kits at your leisure.)
I’ve been on safecig for 14 months after 50 yrs. of smoking…Now I just ordered the standard kit, combo flavor pack and 2 packs of reds from V2…If they are as most say and I like like them I will get the car charger etc…Safecig was a great way for me stop tobacco but am tired of “not in stock”.and I want to try new flavors, vanilla, maybe coffee…Ordered by phone from V2 as to insure items were in stock…Most pleasant lady was very helpful…Going by snailmail so next fri. I hope to try them out..Bob
Hi Bob,
Unfortunately many people are saying the same about The Safe Cig. Stock is an issue and customer service is down. I’m going to be making some blog updates to keep people aware of this and keep them only with brands that care to go over the top with customer satisfaction.
Follow up on my first order from V2…I ordered About 6:30PM my time, pacific,on fri, the order is complete and has been shipped as of monday mornning. Very good and I got an order conformation, order status and that it was shipped…I hope the product is as good as the service…Both wife and I are on e-cigs now and will spend plenty with them,Ole Bob
Thanks Bob. Can’t go wrong with V2 Cigs. Please let us know how your full experience went after you get the products.
