It appears the Safe Cig has gone out of business.
As of Friday, February 8th, 2013, the Safe Cig seems to be completely out of business by all accounts. Their website is down and message forums are going crazy about not being able to reach them. I am officially telling everyone, as I have before, to avoid dealing with this brand.
I can recommend V2 Cigs brand, as they even sell an adapter for old Safe Cig batteries.
Update March 2012:
This review was done in 2010, and I no longer vouch for this company. Customer service issues are abundant and I just can’t recommend them as a long-term solution. I’m really sorry. I left my review up but I can recommend two brands over The Safe Cig:
This was my original review….
After bumping into an old friend at the local tavern, I was turned on to another brand of e-cigarettes called The Safe Cig. When I asked my friend how this brand of e-cigarettes compares to others, he stated that the technology lasts twice as long and gives consistent vapor volume for the life of each refill cartridge.
Never one to turn down a new electric cigarette, I gave a few puffs of this e-cig and took it for a test drive. I found myself ordering a kit for my own use and following up with this post, officially called The Safe Cig Review. This electronic cigarette does not disappoint, and it’s cracked my top five e-cigarette rankings. I am pretty set in my ways and smoke the same steam cigarette brands on most occasions, but a lot seems to be in the long-term pipeline forThe Safe Cig’s E-Cigarette so I certainly will keep plenty of cartridges around and continue to use The Safe Cig.
Here is what you get with the Safe Cig’s Starter Kit, priced at $89.99
2 Batteries
A home/Usb combo charger
5 pack of the Disposable Atomized Refill Cartridges of your choice in flavor and strength
For another $12.95 you can get a nice case that holds all your new e-cigarette smoking devices. The Safe Cig has arrived, and its’ here to stay with the big boys in the industry.
After seeing my review, The Safe Cig reached out to me with a discount code to pass along to all of my readers. Use “safe4andy” at checkout and you’ll save 5% off all purchases.

Someone Please help me. I NEED to kick the habit for health reasons and I am very interested in trying an E CIG…. which one do I choose? I am thinking of buyig The Safe Cigg but I have so many questions? If I get the Safe Cig do I have to refill the atomotizers myself? or Are they disposible? If I purchase any E CIG must I only use the atomotizer for that brand E CIG?? I just spent $140.00 on Chantix…I lasted 9 days…. I was feeling too sick (headache nausea vomitting dizziness) and had to stop taking it..Please Help me make the best choice for me. I currently smoke Newport Light 100′s… Thank you in advance
Beth, if you email me personally I can answer any questions you have in great detail. info@ bestecigarettesreview.com
Andy
ps…I figured we could open a dialogue instead of answering your personal habits and likes/dislikes on a web forum.
Hi Andy,
I tired to email you at the address above but it came back to me mailer domain???
Hi Bethany,
Not sure why that is, I use that email daily. Try me at andygraysreviews AT Yahoo.com
The Safe Cig is hands down the best ecig I have ever used. Thanks for the review.
Many people agree with you Jake. I’m a fan personally!
You code “AndyG5″ is no longer valid. I tried it with, and without the quotes.
Bob, that code is for V2 Cigs. “Safe4andy” is the Safe Cig code.
Look at the last sentence of your review here. You’re giving the impression that I did something wrong, or mis-read it. It states “AndyG5″, and the one for V2 is “AndyG”. All I’m saying is that you should change this, so others are not confused, or write the wrong code.
Bob,
Thanks for pointing that out – it’s been updated accordingly. You’re the man of the hour!
My husband just bought me The “Safe Cig” for Christmas, I have researched many brands for MONTHS. I always try the “disposable e-cigs first”. There are many promotion codes, I used “GOSAFE” for the Safe Cig and it worked. The best “disposable” e-cigs I have bought at an actual store is called “Krave”. It looks and feels like a Lights 100. I have had it for 3 days now and the vapor, taste, and the battery is still the same as the first drag I had! Good Luck to all!
Oh I almost forgot on the “Safe Cig” comes in 6 different levels of Cartridges, 24 mg being the the highest.(For the heaviest smoker), and 0(zero) being NO nicotine. I also got $6.00 off through the promotion code “GOSAFE” , and I did 1-3 day delivery, which with my code was only $3.00. My “Safe Cigs” was just delivered. So it only took 2 days! Hope this helps! I am still waiting for my disposable “Krave” e-cig to quit on me, so I will comment back on my new “Safe- Cig”. Happy Holidays to all the E-Cig users!
Safe4Andy also works as a Safe Cig discount code.
Are cartridges interchangeable with different brand e-cigarettes?
Not always. In most cases it also disqualifies you from any warranty. While I have interchanged cartomizers with different brands, it’s never been the same experience. Buy from the same supplier to avoid issues.
I ordered the Deluxe Starter Kit from SageCig on Friday, Jan 7, very early morning. Received it on Monday Jan. 10. It is now Friday Jan. 14. While I want to wait a while longer to write an in-depth review. I just wanted to say I can’t imagine there being a better e-cig available anywhere. SafeCig taste exactly like a real cig. The amount of vapor is just unbelievable. I smoked 1 1/2 to 2 pks./day.
From Monday night to now (Friday pm), I’m only on my 3rd cartridge. So far batteries are lasting 12+ hours between charges. I started with 18 mg. and think I need just a little more so I’m waiting for thhe 24mg to arrive (probably tomorrow). I’m still smoking reg. tobacco cigs a little but only about a pack and a half for the week. I think once I get the 24mg I can drop them for good.
My first e-cig experience was another brand that after using it for about 4 days the batteries were only good for about 30-40 drags before they were depleted and needed recharging. Thankfully they had a money back gaurantee that I utilized. After that I was a little paranoid and suspicious of the batteries so I went with the 3 battery Delux kit. So far, SafeCig has astounded and amazed.
Andy, I’m about to purchase a starter kit for the Safe Cig or The Green Smoke E-Cigarette. I’ve narrowed down to these companies after combing through review site after review site(though I have to admit, that the customization of Cigarti and Premium is very interesting). I’m finding it quite hard to choose between the two. I’m an average smoker, probably only smoke anywhere from 2-10 cigarettes a day. However, I enjoy full strength, strong nicotine cigarettes with lots of flavor. I have two kids, and I realized recently that I want to be there for them as long as I can. They were my main motivation to convert to E-cigarettes.
I’ve also read from other consumers that Green Smoke has battery issues that I’ve simply not read about from The Safe Cig. What can I expect from both companies in terms of the quality of construction and vapor production? I’ve also heard that the customer service at Green Smoke leaves some to be desired, though obviously these are subjective opinions.
I guess when it comes down to it, which company do you think presents a better buy? I’m willing to pay for the deluxe kits for both companies, I just want to make sure that I get a quality product that the company backs up…
I’d rather you respond via email if you can man. I really enjoy your video reviews, and think this site is better than many others.
Replied via email, per your request. – AG
A little update on my SafeCig Deluxe kit. Two of the three batteries work flawlessly. The third while it works, it sometimes requires a very hard draw to activate. I filled out a support ticket on the SafeCig web site Sunday night. Monday they replied, apologizing for the inconvenience and are shipping a new battery out immediately, free of charge and asked that I just throw the other one in the trash. Just wanted to let everyone know they obviously stand behind their product. This just confirms that I definitely made the right choice.
Thanks Rick. I’m grateful for all the contributions you’ve made to the blog.
Your help in reviewing products has made life easier on me. Cheers to that.
Andy, i’ll ask the same question as carlo , but please post the answer so we can all read it. i’m new to e cigs and want to purchase something thats good. if you were buying one for yourself which would it be. ( im not so interested in all the flavors besides regular and menthol) thanks , mike
Mike,
Green Smoke. They win because I personally believe they have better customer service, which to me buying online is important. The products are really similar.
Just wondering on how many refills you’d need to buy to make these work weekly.
I’d like to buy one that is less expensive in the long run, not just today. Wondering if you’ve tried the eastmall riva 901 e-cigs. I’ve heard good things about them, and I’m wondering if it’s more cost effective to buy the refillable liquid kind?
Eastmall riva 901? Never heard of them…..new brands come out weekly now it seems, but stick with the best. Green, Safe Cig, V2. I’m not a liquid re-filler person, just don’t like the potential mess personally.
Refills all depends on how much you smoke now and how hard you “drag.”
I was smoking about a pack and a half per day, sometimes closer to two. With my SafeCig 24mg carts., a 5 pack is lasting about 7 days on average which is $12.50 and free shipping unless I expedite.
I’m letting everyone know not to waste your time with joy cig, I ordered thier kit for $59.95 total w/shipping was $69.32 it was supposed to come w/charging case, when I recieved it I didn’t get the charger,so I went to website only to find no phone # I had to send email it took days for a response, only for them to say, it’s no longer a charging pack.I emailed again to see what they would do for me,I had to wait another 2 days for response they did offer me a discount, but after poor customer service and false advertisement I returned it. they said 110% refund only gave me $53.96 I get that they don’t refund shipping cost but w/out shipping kit was $59.95 how do I only get $53.96 refund ?that don’t seem 110% to me .
Thanks Crystal. I’m starting to see the Joy e-cigarette pop up a lot. Haven’t had it yet, nor have I heard a negative review of the company until now. If anyone else out there has dealt with Joy e-cigarettes customer service, please add to this discussion.
I ordered a SafeCig deluxe kit after reading so many positive reviews and
realizing they are one of a very few that offer a 30 day money back guarantee
AND lifetime warranty on their product. I’ve tried a few others and they didn’t
even come close to the quality, taste and feel of the SafeCig.
I smoked about 1 ½ packs per day. Sometimes closer to two and have smoked for over 30 years. SafeCigs batteries last me roughly 9-13 hours and they charge back up in only about 90 minutes. Another great feature is the charger shuts off when the battery is charged so you can plug it in and go to bed.
Many of the other brands you have to watch the time and unplug after the specified time or risk damaging the batteries. The cartridges come in 6 different nicotine levels, the highest being 24mg. They come in 5 packs and are $12.50 per package. A 5 pk. is lasting me about 7 days. The “Traditional” flavor tastes exactly like a tobacco cigarette. The “Classic” flavor is a little smoother and very slightly sweeter. The amount of vapor is amazing and more consistent than others I’ve tried. The draw is easy and a long slow draw will produce a considerable cloud. One question I never had answered before ordering was does the nicotine level translate to harshness. Apparently not. The higher nicotine level cartridges do not seem to me to be any harsher. So if you think you might need 24 mg. don’t hesitate or order the 18mg just because you think lesser is milder. To me at least,
the taste and throat hit is the same regardless of nicotine level.
Customer service and shipping are second to none. I received my starter kit in three days. Of the three batteries in the kit, two worked flawlessly but the third while it did work sometimes took a very hard draw to activate. I filled out a support ticket on their web site one evening and the next day they responded with apologies and were shipping out a brand new, tested replacement immediately.
Bottom line, I could not be more impressed and we are ordering another kit for my wife. I expect soon to also be ordering one for our daughter and our son. I would highly recommend going with the deluxe kit as the extras you get for the price are a good deal and I wanted the security of a third battery. The carrying case is really nice as well to keep everything together and protected.
SafeCig is obviously at the head of the game with a product that I believe is second to none and have proven they stand behind their product as well.
Well done SafeCig. Keep up the good work, and thanks for getting me off tobacco.
Rick,
Thanks for your continued commitment to posting about your experiences. It’s people like you that really help catapult the success of this blog. I appreciate all of your information, and it’s a testament to how good of a bond we all have here on this blog. Thanks for an insightful, in-depth review of The Safe Cig.
Rick, all my best to you and yours. I wish more people would take the time to share experiences like you did.
Andy
Thanks Andy. It’s the least I could do since it was mostly info from you and others that posted here that helped me make more informed decisions and arrive at a brand I’m very happy with.
Hello, I just want to thank all of you for putting in your input. My husband and I ordered our Safe-Cig starter kits today. After lots of time researching and reading, your site is what gave me the confidence to go ahead with my purchase. We are pretty sure our infant son has asthma and although we smoke outside our home, the pediatrician says smoke on our clothing could be setting it off with him.. So we are going to try this in hopes that eventually we can quit all together. I will most definitely post an in depth review once the kits arrive. I do have one question.. are any other brands of refills compatible with safe cig? Just curious.. Thanks again for all the helpful advice!
I ended up buying the Joy electronic cigarette for one of my neighbors who was trying to quit smoking and bought the safe cig also because of a delayed shipping on the joy cigarette. But after receiving both I compared each, side by side, against their marketing claims.
The joy cigarette was far superior in terms of looks and functionality.
I bought the Safe Cig because it claimed to focus on what mattered to smokers most: the amount of smoke the cigarette gives off. The Safe Cig claimed to focus on smoke quantity the most and even claims to invest in the best technology for doing so.
But after comparing both cigarettes, the Joy Cig produced much more smoke than the safe cig. The Joy Cig also came with two cigarettes instead of one: two batteries (essentially two cigarettes) with atomizers.
However, one of the atomizers with the Joy Cig starter kit was faulty, whereas the Safe Cig has a new atomizer inside each cartridge.
But since the Safe Cig states that it is one the cigarette that produces the most smoke which it really does not, I was highly disappointed.
Would rather have the real electronic cigarette that produces the most smoke, and looks better. The safe cig (at a higher price) was a major disappointment.
Karen, you are the first person to ever say anything bad about the Safe Cig. On the contrary, a lot of people are coming with some rave reviews about the Joy E-cig. (Many were spam as they were posted from the same IP address – lots of that funny business goes on and you never know people’s motives.) I have not tried it yet, but will do so.
Thanks for your review.
I recently purchased the safe cig. I was a pack a day smoker. I bought the deluxe kit and it fills my needs with the 3 batteries and all accesories it comes with. The vapor and taste is GREAT!! I smoked newports for years, I prefer this now. Smoother and no smoke. vapor to me seems exc. just like an analog cig, but with no smell. Analog cigs could never be this smooth or taste as good, I use menthol as all newports are. This taste and vapor are to me better than the “real” thing, and alot safer, hence the name. Ha Ha. Quality of the safe cig is excellent as is there warranty offered( lifetime). Haven’t had to use it,but it’s there if I need to.
Thanks for your comments, Matt. Many people feel the same way.
Cheers,
Andy
I also was wondering….is there ANY other cartridges compatible with the safe cig? I LOVE the safe cig but, I would like to try other (smoke) blends to see what tastes the absolute most like a Marlboro or a Camel etc. etc. SO, IS THERE ANY OTHER CARTRIDGE THAT WILL WORK WITH THE SAFE CIG BATTERY??????????
Chris,
I have not found any that are compatible. I think this is by design (so you buy only The Safe Cig’s products.)
Ive been researching E-Cigarettes for almost a month now, and I feel fairly confident that I know more about them, how they work, pricing, and PG, than most might without trying one. However I was still hesitant to purchase one for fear of wasting hundreds of dollars on something I won’t use (Story of my life…). I am a smoker of 1-2 packs a day (Depends on the day), and in my 20′s. I am looking to this to not be that guy who can say “I’ve been smoking for 30 years”.
Ive been to hundred of websites offering information, and E-Cigs, but this is the first honest site I can say that has had any impact on me.
I’d like to say thanks to Andy and all who have posted on here for your contributions and input. After I get done posting here, I’m going to go buy the “TheSafeCig”.
I’ll make sure to come back and post a review once I get in and try it out.
Thanks again!
Jeremy, wish you nothing but luck and success – congrats on your choice. look forward to your review.
I am a new safe cig user. How do you know when the refill cartridge needs to be changed?
Lani,
When you take a puff and you lose some of the power, it’s wearing out. When you taste a “burnt” taste, it’s time to change the cartridge.
Hi Andy,
I ordered the SafeCig last Friday and got it Monday. Tuesday, I had my last “real” cigarette. The SafeCig does everything it promises. It’s amazing how much it feels and tastes like you’re smoking a real cigarette. I’m so impressed…except for one thing. When I ordered the deluxe starter kit, I wanted the traditional medium cartridges, which were sold out. I got a traditional high and a traditional low instead. After I tried the SafeCig and realized what an incredible find it was, I tried to order more cartridges. Now the only choices are traditional ultra low and no nictotine, or any of the menthols, or the very highest and lowest classic flavors. They say they won’t be restocked until February 12th! Basically, what good is a wonderful electronic cigarette if you can’t get cartridges for it. There are no other cartridges that I’ve found that even claim to be compatible with SafeCig. Granted, this could be a sudden influx of orders due to New Year’s Resolutions or people getting SafeCigs for Christmas and now ordering cartridges, who knows? It’s frustrating and annoying to have spent $140 on this thing and not be able to use it. I really hope this isn’t indicative of how they operate. It would be a shame to have to send the kit back in the 30-day guarantee period, but if they haven’t got it sorted out soon, I might have to.
This is common right now, many people must have made New Years resolutions to quit smoking as this is the third brand to have a back-order of some capacity.
I’m a college student that’s been trying to drop smoking ever since the beginning of high school, and I thought that an electronic cigarette would be the best aid I could use. I can’t stand the patches or gum, so I took the plunge into the vaping world… but the problem was choosing the right one.
I’ve been looking over the progression of the reviews for The Safe Cig, Green Smoke, and The Red Dragon for the past month and a half, and I honestly that I’d get more bang for my buck with The Safe Cig.
I ordered a Deluxe Kit this past Saturday, and received them today. Originally paid for the 2 day shipping, but the snow storms kinda slowed down my shipment just a tad… and the company generously reimbursed my $13.00 for the “Best Rate” shipping. I was quite pleased about it.
When I opened up the packaging, I was pleasantly surprised that they all came pre-charged for immediate use. I popped in a 24mg Menthol Ice, tried it, and I instantly had a nicotine rush. I’m used to smoking the normal Lucky Strikes and Full Flavored American Spirit Menthols, and it felt quite similar. I knew that the Safe Cig was a bit heavier than what I was used to, but I got used to the feeling over the past few hours of today. I even vaped quite a bit throughout my last class of the day, and it was really comforting… The professor did take notice, and I just held the ‘lit’ end of the e-cig to my palm just to prove that I really wasn’t smoking, and he just allowed me to continue. I even allowed two of my frat brothers try out The Safe Cig, and they loved it… and they’re buying their own later this evening.
I’ve ordered new cartridges already, and now I’m just lowering my dosages once every two orders. Can’t wait until I can finally break the habit for good, but I will definitely keep it on hand with extra carts. just for a backup.
I will definitely post updates on Monday, because I have a feeling that I’ll get a lot more use out of the entire kit this weekend. I’m going to have to chauffeur some of my drunken frat brothers between campus and random fast food joints, so I will keep this handy, and I’ll have a final verdict of the product after some thorough use of it.

I quit smoking after 30 years with Safe Cig on Jan 1. I’ve tried every other method in the past, none took for long. I LOVE their product. While I have many comments to contribute to this forum, today I have to spew about the backorder.
Honestly – we are all addicts. When your supplier runs out of the product you’re addicted to it is alarming. Two weeks after I quit they ran out of my flavor and concentration. A few days later they had some but I had to pay $6 to express ship or I would run out.
So I ordered an extra week’s supply to keep some stock if they ran out again. Good thing, because they have REALLY run out this time. They were out of my flavor for the second time in Jan, so I ordered two weeks worth of a flavor I don’t care for.
Now they are out of everything but lower doses of menthol. They have been out of my flavor/concentration for over 3 weeks. I am almost out of the alternate choice and afraid I will have to start smoking again.
Again, I LOVE Safe Cig. But if they are so incompetent as to not have better inventory management and then cause anxiety in the addicts who are dependent upon their product, then I have to seriously evaluate continuing with them.
If I let this happen in my company I would be fired. Period. Did they have increased demand? Sure, plan for it – New Year’s resolution time. See your supply starting to burn down faster than expected? Then rush order more, ASAP. They should fire the person that let this happen. That employee has cost them many thousands of dollars as well as existing and potential repeat customers.
Just my opinion from a frustrated, anxiety ridden Safe Cig addict – TK
Tom, I certainly can relate. Just two months ago, same thing happened over at V2. The only company I know that hasn’t had a substantial back-order ever is GreenSmoke, which is why I smoke them.
Thank you, Tom Kelley!
I didn’t know this had happened before. I actually picked up the phone to call them about lack of refills since the site has up a poorly worded message to boot. I could not understand how something would ship on 2/12 if it could not be found in the drop down menu. That message is still up and it’s now 2/14. Can’t be bothered to update the date on a badly worded message…making me wonder are they going out of business and just trying to sell remaining stock.
It makes no sense that they would run out of inventory and not update the site.
I’m not about to start with another company as I bought 3 deluxe kits from Safe for friends and heard about this company from a friend who told me they were competent and that’s been a problem for all these ecig vendors…keeping enough inventory on hand.
Thanks to you, I know this is not the 1st time with them, although, their operator swears it is. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I got my deluxe kit a little over a month ago. My wife, a few weeks. I had noticed they ran out of 18mg. in classic and traditional and when I decided the next day to order some 24mg. traditional, they were out of those. That caused me a little concern so I ordered enough 24mg. classic to last a while. We’ve got enough for probably 3 more weeks but they are practically out of everything except a couple strengths of menthol. Now, they’ve shut down their facebook page (probably because the comments were getting more negative by the day). It’s a shame to see a company with such a solid product having such issues. It sure does not instill much confidence. They have such a super product I really hate to have to change but if they still don’t have stock by the end of this week, it’s time to start looking at another brand.
From the reviews I’ve read others are having shortages as well, just not as severe.
I sure hope they get back on their feet soon or I’m out two deluxe kits for nothing.
****Safe Cig Update*****
Without saying too much to the point of crossing the line on keeping things confidential, I’ll just report that Monday, 2/14/11 I was contacted by someone from the Safe Cig and the problem they have was with an importation that was mis-routed. As many of you know, many components are imported and when inventory gets low, every day counts. I’m told that there is nothing wrong structure-wise in the company, and that all is well at The Safe Cig, but that obviously not being able to replenish certain items has caused a back-order. I was told that by Wednesay/Thursday of this week, things will be straightened out. If you recall, this same thing happened to V2Cigs in early December, and they were right back on track after obtaining their import.
If anyone has any apprehension, don’t. Just know that instead of the lightning fast shipping things will be a few days behind, that’s all. You can rest assured Safe Cig is a first class organization. The Safe Cig does advertise their banner on my site and I commend them on reaching out to let me know about the issue. they even went as far as saying “you can remove our ad if you feel it hurts the message you are getting out there.” That’s classy, and I commend them for being straight forward with me.
If anyone has any specific questions, just contact me and I’ll do my best to help out.
@Tom and Dee
Just so you know. I called them yesterday and the guy told be I could order from their website on Wednesday (tomorrow). Wish he’s right!
I hope you are correct in stating they will be available weds or thursday–i have 4 cartridges left–and have quit smoking after smoking 40 years. Received my kit three weeks ago–i have been researching on line t buy something else, but since seeing your statement about when they will be available again–i will wait.
Thanks Andy.
I have mixed feelings about SafeCig at the moment. I was quite happy with the Deluxe kit which was a real bang for the buck. It consists of 3 batteries, 2/5pks of refills(with the ability to choose 2 different types), a car recharger, a wall recharger and 2 USB plugs that work for car, computer and are used in the wall charger. As someone else mentioned above one is able to leave a battery in overnight in the charger. Also, it’s nice that the batteries come fully charged out of the box. At $140 bucks this is real value!
However, I have been unsatisfied with customer service even before they ran out of refills. I’m stuck with 2/5pks of refills that aren’t just duds…they are not working at all. After trying 10 in a row (honestly) I phoned and was told that they were most likely “overfilled” and that I should just suck on them harder. Trust me that didn’t change the problem. They would not rectify the problem, period. Not even a credit to my account for the $24, a small amount to keep a new customer happy in my opinion. I have run into a few duds since then and have not bothered to phone or write a support ticket since I got the same “they were overfilled but work with them” response on the support ticket after the first box of refills were defective.
While it’s great they have a 24 hour phone service it does little good if the operator is being purposely vague. I wish I had found this blog sooner but I went by recommendations of a friend who told me the biggest issue in this relatively new industry has been regarding getting new supplies…a problem he had never had with Safe but he was also new to the ecig experience.
Since I had no idea when SafeCig was getting in refills…I purchased a starter kit from GreenSmoke. I found excellent customer service there although I don’t know anything bout the product since it has not arrived. I started out in chat… a feature not available at SafeCig and the rep phoned my house even opening an account with password. I found I’m still signed in. GreenSmoke was more expensive and doesn’t give quite the package that SafeCig gives but I see I can buy accessories as needed. I would probably buy another batterie and USB adapter, for example although since these can’t be left in overnight…maybe not. I have not tried flavors since they were not available at Safe but I ordered some of those to try at GreenSmoke.
I will let you know what I think as far as comparison of the product goes when I have tested the product from GreenSmoke. I hope this covers my bases when these companys run out of refills. I do wish there was better quality control and I was just upset at SafeCigs response to my complaint regarding the defective carts….as I have bought 3 Deluxe kits from them. I think they could have been a bit more customer friendly and given me some sort of discount or something.
I’m sure if SafeCig had not run out of refills and let me know when the refills would be available I would have waited it out. But, I’m down to one 5 pk and just got another dud….very bad timing.
Thanks for providing a great forum here and expert advise to those of us new to this experience. I will let you know what I think about GreenSmoke in comparison to SafeCig when I get the product which they sent via Fed Ex (again not cheap but I’m down to the my last box of SafeCig refills…and I tried an regular cigarette today and found I really don’t like them anymore…yep, I prefer the ecig to smoking analogs now….go figure).
Yeah, I can feel your pain Denise. I’ve been assured there is NOBODY as upset as them about this – they missed a big day – a Monday Valentines day. (It’s an Internet fact that most purchases take place on Mondays and Tuesdays….people hear about stuff over the weekend, want to get all their purchases out of the way before the week gets busy, etc…) They missed out on big day, but they will bounce back.
Thanks for the update Andy. I’m so impressed with Safe Cig’s product and past experience with customer service I’m really trying to keep the faith. Things were starting to look a little spooky though. If they can get back on their feet even in the next week or two, I’m staying put. Not going to bother with another brand as a backup which I was beginning to consider. Thanks again for the reassurance.
That’s what I’m here to do – help consumers. I’ll keep you all posted as to new information about the Safe Cig.
Thanks for all the info on Safe Cig’s backorder problem–i just called them (9:00Am, New York State)–they should be ready this afternoon for orders, both online and at customer service by phone. In the mean time i ordered a V2 Power Cig yesterday on line–hopefully something will show up by Saturday at my home (wishful thinking), as i will be out of cartridges and really hate to think I will have to buy the real thing –ananlog cigerettes. Wish I would have found your site before purchasing anything–i think I would have gone with Green Smoke, even tho I am happy with the Safe Cig–just disappointed in them not having enough stock. Hopefully there isn’t a crazy run on Safe Cig for cartridges–and some of us are still left without our nicotine.
No problem, Denise. That’s what I’m here for.
I don’t think the biggest issue is them having an inventory issue. I think the biggest issue is their lack of communication. Not only did they tell two different stories as to what was going on (and now, based on your comment, three different stories), they’ve removed their FB page, don’t respond to emails, and you cannot talk with anyone via the phone. They basically shut down their customers. That is bad business sense and shows a complete lack of respect for their paying customers. The same customers which have kept them in business to this point.
Agreed, I have operated customer-based businesses for quite some time, and my staff has always been trained to be proactive in telling customers of issues and keeping them posted on situations. It’s paramount to keeping a customer base happy. Maybe they should take a course in customer management over there.
Hopefully they read this and get better at customer service, as they have a great product I’d hate to see lose steam (pun totally intended) over a lack of attention to customers.
Good to have found this Forum. My husband and I after reviewing a while chose Safe Cig only to be told they are out of stock – they promised Feb 12th so we waited and now we are still waiting! We cant wait to start and are thinking of going with blue cig or Green Smoke but really believe in Safe Cig – Should we wait??? Thanks Everyone!
Go to Green Smoke, Carolyn. It will change your life. Don’t wait.

Andy or anyone with knowledge about this — are there any e-cig brands that use cartridges compatible with the Safe Cig battery to tide me over til Safe Cig restocks? I read that Cloud 9′s “cartomizers” are compatible but they don’t offer a 6mg dose. Any info is much appreciated. Thanks.
Adam,
There may be compatible brands (none I personally recall and I’m in my office looking through about 30 brands) but I know for a fact they advise against this…..I’m working on an answer – will be back soon should I find something worth posting.
Just called safe cig–they are in stock, but there system has not been updated, so you still can’t order–she told me to call back later today or tomarrow–(2:30 New York time is when i called them). Getting a little frustrated!!!!!
Safe cig is back selling–i think i was the first customer–called it in, cause had trouble on the website.
Thank you for the note, Denise. I just got an email from the Safe Cig as well saying all is back to normal and not to shy products away from ordering their products.
Good job, Safe Cig. Best of Luck.
I’ve been out of cartridges for two weeks, and as a result have gone back to real cigarettes.
I placed an order for refills with SafeCig on Jan 30. On Jan. 31 I got an email stating my package had shipped, but the next day I got another email stating my order would be delayed 7-10 days. 16 days later and I’ve yet to hear anything. I just sent an email to customer support.
I love the Safe Cig, but I am definitely disappointed in their customer service.
P.S. with respect to duds, I’ve had that problem a couple of times, but I was able to fix it by cleaning the contacts in the cart and the battery with a toothpick, and by sucking harder for the first few hits.
BTW, what really upsets me is that they haven’t shipped my order, yet they charged my credit card.
I am totally with Jeff on this. Placed my order on 1-30-11. All I ever got from safecig was an email confirming the order and , of course, the removal of funds for the order from my bank. Never received any more communication regarding back order, order status, etc. Nothing at all. And now they continually ignore my email inquiries, and the only phone contact is their ordering line which, of course, the order takers cannot tell you anything about existing orders. I was totally satisfied with safecig before this, I was a thirty one year smoker and now real cig free for four months. Now i’m on my last cartridge and not knowing where i’ll go. For any long term smoker considering e-cigs to help them stop smoking, I strongly recommend you diversify…don’t rely on only one e-cig. I am regretting that big time right now.
I just got an email response, finally, from safecig saying my order will ship out monday the 21st. Cool only 23 days late. “Good job, Safe Cig” ??? Not by a long shot…
I tried the Safe Cig and at first was so unsatisfied that i put it aside and bought another pack of regular cigarettes. I smoked TWO of the regular cigarettes and realized that they weren’t for me and I would never go back. The Safe Cig was worth the money. Believe me, after spending a couple of says with an e-cig you won’t go back to tobacco. It’s the only thing I will ever “smoke” again.
ordered my cartridges on weds the 23rd–nothing yet–hopefully today’s mail. i had to buy a pack of regular cigerettes–it sure stinks.
i recieved an e mail on 2/21 stating that they had shipping problems and my 14 mg. in classic would be shipping out in another 5-8 days. im trying to change my order to the 11 mg. but have not heard from them yet. been back on regs for three weeks now and it sucks tried the disposables from 7/11 and they taste like shit.
I was given a shipper number last weds–figuring they had shipped and tried to track it after not receiving them by tuesday–can’t track it–sent an email to their customer service–turns out never shipped and will be another 3-5 days. I have been out for four days–and what really angers me is the false information given to me–if they would have been truthful, i would have ordered a different mg. I am really unhappy on how this was treated–just want the truth–i have been waiting for my order, and daily saying to my self “one more day”–in the mean time buying real cigerettes for $9.00 a pack–if they would haved been truthful i could of went to the indian reservation here in New york and bought a carton, for what i have spent in the last week for three packs–i am now looking for another e cigerette for backup and because i am sooo angry.
I started vaping Safe Cigs the beginning of the year and successfully stopped smoking cigarettes! I had my first problem with the company when I placed my first order for refill cartridges and paid the extra postage for priority mail & did not receive my order for 10 days! I contacted customer service and all they did was direct me to their shipping policy statement online. Not good. My next couple orders came within 4 days (and I went with their regular free shipping) and I was feeling better about the company. Then today I called Safe Cigs order line and was told their 14 mg & higher menthol cartridges were out of stock?! I asked when they would be back in stock and was told she did not know. What kind of customer service is this? I ordered 1 pack of the 11 mg menthol and told her that I will call back tomorrow to check if the 14 mg are back in stock. I’d rather not swith to another e cig but may have to. I don’t want to back to smoking. Any input or suggestions?
I ordered the Safe Cig Deluxe kit with the 18mg menthol and 24 mg classic tobacco at the beginning of this month and paid for the priority shipping. That shipment was delayed a few days, but the weather caused most of the nation to shutdown at the start of February so I didn’t think anything of it. The Pros of this product are that I have not smoked a real cigarette since I received the Safe Cig on February 7th. I can’t compare it to others because this is the first one I have tried. I can say that the batteries last me a long time. I take maybe 3 puffs an hour and have used one battery for 12 hours. It never gave me a blinking notification to say it was dieing during that time. I just went ahead and recharged it. Compared to smoking 1 pack a day of Marlboro Lights(2 packs if it was a drinking night), I have almost made my money back on this purchase. I love the menthol flavor, have not tried the traditional, and the classic tobacco tastes like an unfiltered cigarette in my opinion and I can tolerate it. Despite how great the Safe Cig is, they have a major problem with inventory and they have been constantly changing their story the past 2 weeks. It started with a message on their site that orders for refill cartridges couldn’t be processed until Feb. 12th. Didn’t bother me, I had only used 3 cartridges by then I could wait to order. I went to their site on the 14th and the message for the refill cartridges was changed to “Cartridges available in box will take 1-3 business days to ship.” I have enough cartridges to get through about 10 days so no biggie, they had 14mg Menthol cartridges available in the order box and my plan is to work my way down to no nicotine eventually. So I ordered, I paid the extra fee for priority shipping and now the Safe Cig has this new “Shipping Policy” you have to agree too so you can place your order. The policy basically says the Safe Cig corporation is not responsible for shipping delays and they won’t refund your shipping payment. This was not required when I ordered my kit 2 weeks earlier. I check my tracking number last Friday to see where my cartridges are and it shows that they haven’t even been sent yet. That gets me kind of mad since they have already charged my card for the cartridges. I wrote a support ticket on their website on the 17th that basically said “Hey, I placed an order on the 14th, I used priority shipping, it has been 5 business days. Is there a problem, because you have already taken my money for a product that hasn’t even been shipped yet.” I give them credit for a quick reply to my question but their answer was “Due to the extremely high demand for our products we have run a little bit short on inventory this week, our Menthol Med 14mg, should be arriving in our warehouse within 5-8 business days.” Okay, that’s three different stories on your website alone plus the the other stories they tell the admins of ecigarette review sites. The 5-8 business day thing isn’t even mentioned on the actual site. Despite them having an amazing ecigarette, they don’t have the supply capabilities at the moment and I can’t tell what the actual truth is on them being able to fix it since they keep changing their story or just not giving the public the correct information. They are already sold out of numerous cartridges at this time(2/23/11) and I don’t trust them to ship the ones they claim to have in stock on time. It sucks that such a great product has to have such an avoidable, and major problem. So I say great product, amazing product since it passes the very important “drinking test”. By that I mean I can be drinking numerous beers and I still want my Safe Cig over a real cig. You just have to be patient to get the supplies to use it. I would say a positive of the whole experience is that I have cut down to making a cartridge last 3-4 days because I really don’t want to smoke Marlboro’s anymore. The next one I open I plan to last 6 days, and if my replacements haven’t arrived by then I may just try to not use anything.
Great post, made me laugh a bit.
Folks, if you want to avoid a delay in shipping, or are “Jonesing” for an e-cigarette, Safe Cig is NOT recommended right now. Plenty of great brands out there are shipping next day right now. Just an FYI. I’ll update this thread when things change – my comments get the attention of the owners and I’m sure I’ll get an email defending them very soon, but until then, you’ve all made it clear Safe Cig has serious shipping issues.
Andy
Thank you Andy for making my long rambling more efficient. “Jonesers” need not apply for The Safe Cig. This will allow me to have my cartridges delivered sooner if you greedy people leave them alone. BWAHAHA!(That’s my evil plan laughter for nicotine) But seriously The Safe Cig, you run a company that sells nicotine users nicotine. We are not rational people during withdrawals and will write a long, grammatically incorrect paragraph to get things fixed.
Bought a V2 notebook e cig last Weds the 16th and received it on tues the 22nd–glad i did. I did it as a backup in case my cartridges didn’t come in from TSC. I still prefer my safe cig, because the V2 can only be used at a computer–but it has awesome vapor. Will be ordering more cartridges from V2 and using it as a backup and at work–saves on battery life on my TSC.
Getting pretty low on cartridges and was getting a little concerned. Still no 24mg. avail. I switched to some 18′s that I had leaving the 24′s for my wife who started several weeks later than I. I ordered more 18′s Monday night and they showed they shipped on Tuesday. Tracking still showed nothing. Was going to order a couples kit from V2 tonight but this afternoon tracking showed my 18′s were processed 100 miles from me early this am. I should get them tomorrow. “Whew”.
Update from Safe Cig advises they are shipping the last of the backorders on Monday and during next week will be completely restocked and all flavors and strengths will be available again. C’mon Safe Cig with the 24′s or my wife is gonna get mean. I’ll definitely be doing the expedited shipping. Go Safe Cig. You can do it.
Yes. They have their first public notification on their FAQ page that was posted on Friday. I hope they will have everything shipped the next couple of days. Mainly my order. Making these cartridges last more than 4 days is pushing it.
I will nitpick TSC’s last statement of “as of next week all refill flavors and strength will be back in stock FOREVER.”
First, It makes me think of the movie “The Sandlot”. For-EV-UR. That’s good.
Second, I’m going to hold you to that. Only because I’m too lazy to bother shipping back everything to you and inventory SHOULD be an easy fix considering the amount of prepayments you have received. That’s neutral.
Third, I hope this means they have a damn contingency plan intact from now on. Maybe even learned a lesson on how to treat REPEAT customers, because that is who your primary demographic is. This has been bad.
I kid because I love you SafeCig. So, I will still wait and see. If I check my tracking number Tuesday and my refills are making their way to my house. I’ll let the forum know. If nothing has happened by Friday, I will let the forum know. If I receive my next three orders on time, I will praise this company from the highest mountain. By highest mountain I mean I will try to post my praise at the top of the forum page. I’m not climbing a damn mountain.
Andy Is there another ecig that works as well as The Safecig. I have been using them with much success, but now cannot get my refills (they have told me that they had shipped when in fact they had not). After emailing several times with no response I became quite upset with them and did recieve a VERY rude response. You seem to be truthful on this subject. Could you help me find a good ecig.
Fay,
I’d suggest GreenSmoke. I have a discount code for you too: “disc10-9219″
10% off. You’ll be happy with it, I smoke it personally.
I am officially furious with Safe Cig… I placed my refill order on 2/17/11, and as of today (3/2/11) I have yet to see the order. I went on their website and it looks like they are trying to say that they did not ship out any orders until 2/28/11. I have e mailed their “customer service” dept twice in the last three days, and have yet to hear back from them. Their product is top notch in my opinion, but their communication skills leave something to be desired! Not a way to run a successful business in my opinion (especially when dealing with addicts). Just wanted to vent.
Well, supposedly the last of the backorders shipped out on Monday. As of today (Thursday) all of the flavors and strengths are back on the menu and available. I’ve got an order enroute of 2packs-18mg. Traditionals and 4packs of 24mg. Trad. and classic(24′s for my wife). Ordered Monday. Tracking shows they were 100 miles from me this am. Should deliver tomorrow. Just ordered 3 packs 18mg. classic. Should be good for a while now. Hopefully everything is back to normal for good because I really love the product. Batteries last me 9-13 hours and recharge in 90 minutes. Love the feature of the auto shut off charger. You can plug it in, forget about it and go to bed. No having to wait till morning and take a charger to work so I can unplug it at the appropriate time. You don’t realize how nice a feature this is untill you have it and had another kit before that didn’t. Cartridges are lasting average of a day, sometimes longer. A 5 pack lasts me a week. I was up to two packs of cigs. a day. Funny thing is, with the Safe Cig. I don’t even want a tobacco cig. now. Very strange. I can’t believe how painless quiting has been (so far). Tried patches a couple times and found them to be pretty worthless. Never could keep them rolled up and lit. Thank you Safe Cig.
Well, I was hoping everything was back to normal and up to par with Safe Cig but apparently not. From the two 5 packs of 18mg. traditionals I received Friday 3-4, 4 did not work well enough to be worth using. Three were a little better but did not last nearly as long as most of my past Safe Cig cartridges. Three were the awesome carts. that I’m used to seeing from Safe Cig. Bottom line is from Friday evening till now (Tuesday evening) I’m on my last of ten cartridges. The order I placed last Thursday still has not shipped. I e-mailed customer service and they gave me a code for a free 5 pack but never addressed the pending order issue.
Tomorrow will be four business days since I ordered. I loved Safe Cig and really hope they get back to their original high standard but tonight I ordered a kit from V2. By tomorrow I’ll be mooching my wife’s 24′s and don’t want to wait till we both have to resort back to tobacco before lining up another supplier. If V2 lives up to the reviews I may give the Safe Cig a break to get back to normal and IF they do then I’ll have 2 brands. That should hopefully keep us from having a supply issue again.
Ordered a refill pack on March 3rd 2011 and still haven’t received my order and it is now Tuesday March 8th 2011. I just quit smoking real cigarettes and I am now getting more upset everyday. I emailed them with no response. Customer communication is almost non existent just like how the other furious Safe Cig customers above me. Argh! it’s so frustrating, I am so close to switching to another E-cig because this is just plain ridiculous.
Well, if you are in the same boat as Jeremy and looking at trying a new brand, I have a 15% off coupon for V2Cigs you won’t find anywhere else, but you have to use it before 3-21-11. AndyG311 is the code.
They’ve posted on facebook that everything ordered prior to 5 pm Tues. (3-8) has shipped. That if your order history on their web site still shows “Processing” it’s wrong and they are working on fixing it. It would be great if customer service would respond to the two e-mails I’ve sent requesting the status of my order. Who really knows for sure? Glad I ordered the V2.
Great, I ordered a kit from V2 on Tuesday since I still haven’t received my Safe Cig carts. and as of Thursday evening V2 stll hasn’t shipped. Did I read somewhere on here that N-Joy cartridges will work with Safe Cig batteries? I could drive about 20 miles to a truck stop and get some N-joy carts. They taste like crap but I could at least get my fix and stay off of tobacco.
NO CUST SVC. Ordered 2/19/11. Emailed with tracking number shipped 2/23.
Tracking number untraceable. Contacted Cust Svc. Sorry it was not shipped. After several emails with no satisfaction, was told Pro Pack shipped 3/1/2011. Tracked number for 7 days. Emailed Cust Svc again. Was told that it was shipped on 3/7/2011. Finally received it on 3/9/2011. The shipping lable showed a shipped date of Feb 23,2011. Sent email to confirm that 30 day guarantee would begin on 3/9/2011. All in all I sent 8 request for information. No one can tell the truth. even called the 800 what a joke that was. Everyone says SORRY. No excuses be honest with you customers. Now I am concerned about ordering refills when needed. Never heard of a company that doesnot have a Customer Service number. Frustrated….
Still don’t have carts. I ordered on 3-3. After two days of e-mails I got a response that they were in-transit but didn’t say as of when. I e-mailed them back on 3-10 asking if they could at least tell me WHEN they shipped. No response yet. I’ve been reading that everything will be back to normal in a few days now for about four weeks so I’ll believe they actually shipped when I have them in my hand.
Some comfort, if you will, knowing that my experiences are not unique. My experience is almost identical to what I’ve been reading here. I requested the “free” pack, plus I ordered March 2nd by phone, nothing. Every day I open the mailbox and get steamed more. I agree with all here, great product. Two batteries, a charger and a case are rather useless without cartridges. I just hate the thought of shelling out another $150 for a “backup” brand.
Since I still don’t have my cartridges I decided today to drive the 45 mile round trip to a truck stop and bought a pack of N-Joy cartridges after reading somewhere that they will work with Safe Cig batteries. Just to let everyone know….THEY DO. Of course they don’t put out quite the amount of vapor we’re used to seeing with Safe Cig but it beats the Safe Cig laying in the desk drawer with no cartridges and at least it can tide me over till my carts. or the new V2 kit arrives.
I again have placed yet another order with The Safecig and again cannot find out any information. In my last order (15 packs of cartridges) I have a whole pack that will not work. I have e-mailed them twice and have recieved the same form instructions that do not make the catridges work. Again, e-mailed them and have heard nothing back. I like others who have left post here, do not relish the thought of dishing out more hundreds to another company but am being forced. Wish Safecig could get their act together. I feel robbed.
Still don’t have my order from 3-3 and still no response from customer service. They are now way, way over the line called totally unnacceptable.
Finally got them today. Only 12 days. That’s an improvement so I’m hoping they’re starting to get a handle on things. I really hope they are because quite frankly their e-cig is amazing. Just pretty worthless if you can’t get cartridges. Ordered more last night for my wife so I’ll see how that goes.
Ordered refills on Friday 3-11. Emailed them today at 11:00 AM to check if they have been shipped and received a reply from them at 4:00 PM saying that they have been shipped on 3-14 and are due to arrive on 3-21 via UPS ground. I verified this through UPS tracking via their website. I did not select expedited shipping because of the additional $21.00 cost (they no longer use USPS or it would have been only $6.00 to expedite). Since they state on the Safe Cig website that free shipping would be between 5-8 days (business days that is!) all seems to be well at the Safe Cig.
The Safe Cig is by far the best ecig I have ever tried !! Ordered on Monday and received my kit and refills in 2 days !!! Thanks for restoring my faith in electronic cigarettes, you have secured a customer for life.
Well, I got my new safe cig on Thursday night and that is the last time I had an analog cig. I love this thing and am on my way to ordering refill carts. I don’t ever want to run short. This is the first time I actually believe I am going to be a non -smoker. My family is so excited and happy that I have quit. I also see why so many say they don’t ever want to smoke analog again after using e-cig. Thank you so much for steering me in the safe smoke direction and if anyone is waffling about what to get I highly recommend the Safe Cig. Makes me feel like I smoking an analog without all the guilt and poison.
Apparently and thankfully Safe Cig is back on top of things. The carts. in my last shipment were great. The order I placed on the 15th. shipped on the 16th, shows in Louisville, Ky this morning (Sat. 19th.) so will deliver Monday. Faith restored I placed another order. Well done Safe Cig.
Definitely back on top….I ordered Saturday. Actually shipped on Saturday and delivered in Indiana on Tuesday. Free shipping, USPS.
Sweet!
I tried 5 differant brands on Ecigs in the last 3 years and I have to admit that the safe cig is by far the best brand I have ever tried. I wish I wouldnt have wasted all that money on the other junk I tried. Their customer service is also the best I have ever delt with. Thanks for the directing me to the best !
I will agree that the SC is good, I’ve been using then for 4 months. Ordering and deliveries are timely (they did run out of Traditional about a month ago and I had to scramble to change the order to Classic).
That experience and having a battery go bad has taught me that they have VERY poor customer service. On the 3 occasions that I’ve had an issue (and they were relatively small issues) they failed at each one…that is very bad customer service.
When my current supply of batteries (I have 3 left) fails, I will NOT go back to SC. They’re product is to expensive not to have good customer service; and the lack of a phone number to calls proves to me that they really don’t care about you after you spend your money.
Kevin,
Thanks for sharing your experience. Why do you say “When my current supply of batteries fails…”
I’m not sure what you are getting at?
Hi Andy and everyone!
Thanks so much for your very quick response to my questions, Andy. Based on your reviews and recommendations and the great posts by other “e-smokers,” I have just ordered the Safe Cig Pro Starter Kit. I am hoping that this e-cig, along with the Chantix I’ve recently started taking, will help me quit for good.
Thanks so much to you, Andy, and everyone! I look forward to reading the thoughts and opinions of others. I’ll let you know how my “smoke-free” journey plays out.
I have used sc for 2 months, without a hitch. Fast free delivery to Texas usually in 4-5 days. Reorders easy. Carts don’t leak. And, last about 2 packs worth each. Very high quality product. I’m very satisfied.
I have to agree with Kevin on this one. Their customer service is great when you are giving them money. When you have problem, good luck! I wasn’t all that thrilled with my new Pro kit, but, with the hassle they have created to return it, and their 25% re-stocking fee, I’ve decided to order a higher nicotine level cartridge and give it another shot. I will say, when they finally answered my “claim ticket”, because you can’t talk to a person, when all was said and done, they thought maybe my cartridges were faulty and did issue me a coupon for a free 5 pack with my next order. So, we shall see what happens! (With the 24 mg, I am hoping for a good throat hit, because the 14′s aren’t “doing it” for me!!)
Hello, just wanted to say I quit smoking in 2010 thanks to surgery. I hate to admit it but I miss the social aspect of smoking, smoking when I drink, an after dinner smoke talking on the phone, the habits are never ending.Giving up smoking not easy but habits are harder to give up..lol. So, I decided to go vapor just to tame my habits. OMG..the search was over whelming.. who to believe who to try etc. So I came upon your reviews and I have to say you narrowed it for me by four. I am going to try safe cig..with no nicotine menthol and a case to feel like have a new pack..lol. Will let you know how it goes..testing it out with a drink and some friends..LMAO. ..Thanks again for the help. Nansea
So SafeCig is for sure good to go on Orders? Can anyone give me a fair assessment on which cartridge I should get. I am a Menthol Smoker. Marlboro (Greens) Full Flavor. I’ve sample a few menthols from other E-cigs and they were nasty. Almost minty in taste. Any input would be great. Also is the 24 mg really as strong as they say? Is 18mg a good place for a filter tipped smoker to start?i
My last 5-6 orders have shipped same day or at worst next day. I typically order late Thursday night or wee hours Friday morning. They ship on Friday and usually deliver to me in Indiana on Monday or Tuesday using “free shipping”. I’d say they are definitely back on top of supply/shipping. If you smoke menthol then that’s the flavor you’ll want. While I’m not a menthol smoker I’ve been told their menthol flavor is about the best. I was full flavor filtered and ordered 18mg. with my starter kit. Immediately ordered 24mg feeling like I needed a bit more. After about 4-5 weeks dropped back to 18mg. Based on my experience if I were starting out again I think I would order 2 in 24 and 2 in 18. Just my opinion though. The Safe Cig has been great and a quality product they stand behind. While my wife and I and other customers (based on their customers/fans posts on their face book page) have been noticing some inconsistencies in the cartridges (some carts. last 18+hrs., others 6), they are still the best compared to some other top rated brands I’ve tried. I would highly recommend Safe Cig to anyone and have to many. Many of my wife’s co-workers have their kit now and all are very pleased.
So, I finally made my decision on which brand to go with. I just placed my order for Safe Cig. I want to thank you for all the information that helped me through this overwhelming choice. Before I found this site I was very confused.
I got the deluxe kit, that was the best value by far. As a Marlboro Light smoker I picked classic 11 and 14 mg. I will let you know how it goes.
Thanks again to all of you and Andy:)
I’m a 40 +yr smoker, Small cigars the last few yrs due to the Price of my Kools. I bought the deluxe starter kit and got 2 @ 24 and 1 @ 18 – both “Traditional”. I LOVE the safe cig, but think I may have been better off going Classic instead of traditional, and buying the 18′s and 14′s. Wow, you get a lot of vapor…and NO Button to push! I ordered Late on a Tue night (Wed Morning) and they were in my mailbox Friday.
Andy, glad I found this website, I believe it has helped me. I am ready to become an e-smoker. I am a heavy smoker, 2 to 3 packs a day, Marlboro Light 100′s — so after reading your reviews on several different products, I am guessing that I should go with the SafeCig brand, DeLuxe or Pro Kit, 18mg (please correct me if you think I’m wrong). Now my question is do I order Traditional or Classic — which will get me closest to the Marlboro Light flavor/taste?? I am ready to place an order but would appreciate your confirmation or suggestions.
I praised and recommended Safe Cig as soon as I started using them, up until now. I got the starter kit and within 2 weeks one of the batteries just stopped working. I sent it in and they sent a replacement which also failed one week later. How long do I have to do this? They also offer NO COMPENSATION for what I feel is a very major inconvenience. When they work properly they are the best, but I can’t stand these defective products and bad customer service.
That is really unusual. My wife and I both bought deluxe kits (3 batteries each). Safe Cig is known for their exceptional state of the art batteries. Our six batteries and 4 chargers have been flawless for 5 months. They must have gotten a bad batch. Sorry for your troubles.
I bought the Deluxe kit, but did not like their Traditional and Classic flavors. I smoked Marlboro Lights and Pall Mall Lights. Their Traditional flavor tasted like a sweet cigar. Their equipment is first rate, good batts and carts, but I had to return the kit in 3 weeks, paid to ship it back and 25% RESTOCKING FEE! So much for “money back” guarantee. Customer service was quick but gave me stock answers, did not read my message carefully.
I am vaping Red flavor V2s now, tastes better than SC, also shopping for another brand as backup and to get out of those cig pack like portable charging cases.
Hello everyone.
I am from Canada and I have been doing so extensive research on the e-cig. I am very excieted to get started. I believe that I have made the choice to go with the safe cig. But I have a few questions that I hope someone could answer,…….
I’m sure that no one has smoked an ultra light Canadian cig. But that is what I smoke. With reading the reviews I’m a little worried that if I go too low with the “mg” I will be dissapointed. Stephanie had mentioned that she smoke Marly lights, that is what I smoke when I visit the USA. My concern is the ammount of vapor and the “throat hit”. I want to make sure that I feel it!! What “mg” does anyone recomend.
Thanks for everyones time
Danielle
I am on this website today looking to switch FROM The Safe Cig. I am sooo fed up! They have the most inconsistent shipping- one week i’ll get my order in 3 days, and the next week it will be over 8 days until I recieve my shipment. I cannot be without cartridges for days on end like TSC has left me, and I find myself more frustrated than anything. Their customer service replies with these auto-answers, and not really answers your specific question. I have spent OODLES of money with this brand, and am getting nothing but frustration. Any suggestions? I smoke traditional flavor, and like the big “hit.” Premium brand looks pretty rad, and has my fave color- purple as a battery color choice. Do their traditional flavor carts provide a good “hit”?
thanks for the help! ;0)
Hi everyone! This may upset some people, but I really, really just want to give anyone considering The Safe-Cig a heads up about their customer service. I sent back my starter kit in mid April. (It was WELL within the 30 days – it was only a couple of weeks, if that.) After about 12+ e-mails back and forth, my credit card was FINALLY credited today, after nearly 60 days! When I sent a “support ticket” to find out how to send it back, I got a full page “sales pitch/lecture” on how only .01% of people don’t like their product, I should give it more time, they know I’ll love it, etc. (FYI – it took them 3 days to respond to my ticket.) I didn’t want a sales pitch, I simply didn’t like their product. Also, they charge a whopping 25% re-stocking fee. So, if you are thinking about getting a safe-cig, keep in mind if you don’t like it, be prepared to wait an eternity for your refund, and plan on losing 25% of what you paid. If you do like it, I’m sure it will be fine! Please don’t make the mistake I made – READ their return policy very carefully! I just want everyone to know how they operate. Have a great day everyone!
Lisa
Hi Lisa,
You are a long time, active commenter here on my blog, so it’s always great hearing from your experiences. Sorry you had such a bad experience. At least you were provided your refund, (albeit late) some people haven’t had that success with other brands.
Safe Cig, if you are reading, hopefully this is an isolated incident.
Great review. I used to smoke Marlboro menthol’s before i started vaping and I couldnt be happier with the results! Cigarette clean for over three and a half years! Safe Cig Starter kits own
Hi Andy,
Thank you for the info about the podcast! Also, yes, I really hated to “bash” the safe-cig, but I just wanted everyone to know my experience just in case! I also hope mine was an isolated incident. I would much rather be posting positive comments rather than negative. And, again, it was completely my fault for not thoroughly reading their return policy! Thanks again and I hope everyone has a great day!
Lisa
What is the difference between the traditional and the classic tobacco flavor? I am buying this for my brother and can’t decide.
Hi1 Andy, I was just wondering why my premium brand e-cig batteries are getting so hot to even touch them? I called Premium, and all that thy said was to try and clean the batteries (which I did) and still had the same problem, I’m so afraid of having a FIRE! These batteries are only 31/2 months old. I have been “smoke free now for 8months now, also there carts ,the last 2 batches were terrible, some good others dudes and if Iwere lucky I only vaped 14 puffs on ONE cart, are Premium brand e-cigs getting greedy and putting and filling up carts only half? I go through 2-3 carts per day! when I first started e–cigs 1 would last me 24 or more hrs. Whats up ??? called and complained and received the same response as usual. I’m so fustraded, I was a good customer, and want a good product carts, batteries, that supposed to last and hopefully not catch fire!!!!!It actually will burn your hand and u could not handle the battery until it cools, somethng is “fishy going on with this company” Please advise me and keep up your good work! Michele on fire in FL. lol
I’ve now been tobacco free for over 6 months. My wife for 5 thanks to Safe Cig. We both got deluxe kits so between us both we have six batteries and have had no issues. Chargers and batteries have been flawless. Service and shipping have been excellent with the exception of a couple screw ups by the USPS for which I can’t blame Safe Cig. I would highly recommended Safe Cig and have to many. I’ve finally settled on Traditional as my favorite flavor as I think it taste more like a real cigarette and having a little stronger flavor than the milder & sweeter Classic I think it’s more satisfying. Awesome product!
Where to begin.. Ordered safecig, they were great at taking my money but everything else so far is a fail! I never received an email with a tracking number even after I emailed them to tell them, all I got was an email saying the post office must have used a barcode and that the barcode can be read by the post office so they no where to ship it. WTF? lol. Then I paid for express shipping which they guarantee 2 to 3 business days. Well its been 6 days now. So far I am not impressed, hopefully my opinion will change when I actually receive my order.. If I receive it.
THE SAFE CIG IS THE WORST COMPANY. MY ORDER WAS PLACED ON 7-3-11, IT IS NOW 7-12-11. THE TRACKING NUMBER (WHICH I HAD TO ASK FOR) SAYS IT LEFT NEVADA 7-6-11, NOW 7 DAYS LATER IT SAYS ARRIVED AT INDIANA..I AM IN FLORIDA!!! AT THIS RATE MY PACKAGE SHOULD BE HERE NEXT MONTH MAYBE..PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS, THEY HAVE NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT PHONE NUMBER, NOW I KNOW WHY..THIS COMPANY SUCKS!!!!!!
Yikes. Pretty harsh words for the Safe Cig Customer service, Will. If anyone at the company is reading this, perhaps you can respond.
It’s always bad reading about bad experiences, but they do happen at companies of all sizes. Hopefully this is an isolated incident and isn’t a repetitive theme as I’ve never had issues with TSC.
Hey guys,
Have been doing my research and have been thinking of the transition between the real thing and ecigs. My search has led to The Safe Cig and Blu. I like the looks of Blu, but haven’t found the consistency in user reviews compared to the TSC. Any help would be appreciated as I will be making the purchase this week. It’s time to kick the habit for good for the sake of my health and the health of my family. Thank you for any answers.
Will, same problem here. My orders have been going to Nevada, then Indiana, Tennesee and finally to me in SC. It takes double the time to receive my orders now. They used to ship USPS from LA to Atlanta GA then to me in SC and it didn’t take long either. It’s very frustrating and like you said….NO customer support.
I love the product, it helped me quit smoking…I’ve not smoked a tobacco cig in 34 days with the help of Safe Cig. But, I must say, I have been shopping around for another product because the shipping really sucks now.
Ben, I used to smoke Marlboro Reds so the Safe Cig was a good strong cigarette to go to. I personally get more out of it than a Blu. The Blu, for me, didn’t have the throat hit that I needed…it’s a cute e-cig though.
Just wanted to say that I’ve never had any problems with Safe Cig…although I am upset that they have changed the shipping so things take much longer to get to me.
As I said earlier, I love the safe cig. It’s a really good product and for those that are trying to quit smoking and need a stronger e-cig, one that gives a good throat hit and has a lot of vapor then Safe Cig is for you! It doesn’t have a sweet taste…thank goodness!
Regarding SafeCigs: I am happy with the quality of the smoke. I have had a few cartridges that did not work at all, but on average a cartridge lasts 24 hours. My problem is the time it takes standard shipping orders to reach me. I ordered on 6/29/11 and received the cartridges 7/13/11. Not acceptable!! I am looking into 21st Century brand that can be purchased at gas stations. Anyone have comments about them?
Hi Wanda,
Thanks for your input and comments. To answer your question, never heard of 21st Century. BUT, most gas station brands are disposable by design and are good for about a pack of smokes (usage wise.) So, getting them long term isn’t that cost effective vs. cartridge replacements. Keep that in mind.
Hey Andy,
I noticed the Safe Cig site has taken the ad down for the new Micro Cig. Do you know if they are still going to release it?
Thanks!
Regarding shipping from Safe Cig. I’m in Indiana and typically place my orders on Thursday nights or Friday a.m. I was always impressed with receiving my orders on Monday or Tuesday every time with the free shipping. Apparently there have been some problems with the USPS around July 4th and for a while after. Several orders have gone from L.A., then three Nevada locations, San Francisco, Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Lexington, Ky and then finally back to Indiana for about 10 and 11 day delivery. My last order though was back to the norm. and passsed up the previous order. I’m hoping it stays that way. Safe Cig was and is still shipping next day except for the July 4th weekend was an extra day. I understand. Everything else has been USPS issues, not Safe Cig and it was FREE, first class shipping, not priority mail. The only problem I’ve had that’s actually with Safe Cig is their recent attempts to upgrade to a better tracking system that didn’t work and then went back to the original tracking system which did work. I can live with that as long as it doesn’t become a weekly thing. The USPS has taught me to stay a little better stocked and then it is a non-issue.
I’ve tried several other brands and experienced every problem from batteries and/or chargers that didn’t last two weeks, 40% dud carts., horrible shipping and lost orders with no customer service. I’ve had a V2 for several months now and the fastest they have shipped an order was 3 days. 5-8 was the norm. I call them to make sure what I want is in stock, order and then when I call 3 days later am told that product has been out of stock for a week. A friend we introduced to e-cigs (Safe Cig) has gone e-cig nuts and I don’t even know how many different brands he now has. He even mixes his own juice for some of the “drippers”. Still, the one he has on him 24/7 is Safe Cig and maintains (as I do) that it is the one most like a real cigarette and the most reliable.
I left a bad review several days ago about the safe cig…I finally received my first order today and I must say, I LOVE IT (although it did take 2 WEEKS TO ARRIVE). I hope THE SAFE CIG people read these reviews. I just wish they would just be able to ship their product quicker. I feel like now I need to order their cartridges at least 2 weeks in advance. BUT I MUST SAY THEIR PRODUCT IS AMAZING! I do not think I will ever smoke another real cig again, thanks Safe Cig, but PLEASE work on your shipping times!! Thank you.
My shipping for Safe Cig is back to normal…yay!!!!
Rick – I agree, the USPS has taught me to stock up also.
Will – Yes, I love my Safe Cig too! So glad your enjoying it! Happy vaping!
I have had a good experience with the product itself, but they can’t seem to get shipments to me in NC in any kind of timely manner these days. My last cartridge order took 3 weeks to arrive(6/27-7/18), leaving me sucking on lozenges for a couple of weeks trying not to smoke a “real” cigarette. That was with the 5-8 day free shipping. I placed the current cartridge order on 7/11 and paid extra for 3 day shipping. It has been 10 days so far, and they have not yet arrived. I haven’t received a tracking number for it yet, and contacted their support via their website several days ago, but have only gotten a response that the order is processing and it can take up to 48 hrs to process. It has been 240 hours and counting… It did show up on my credit card statement within 48 hours though. I don’t want to deter anyone from trying an e-cig, as I have had a good experience with it, and was able to make the switch after 17 years of smoking. I am very frustrated though, to be left hanging without refill cartridges. It is a good product, but at this time I would recommend going with a different brand.
I have been using these for a year. Not 1 real cig in that time. I have had a couple batteries die & I have emailed them & they sent me new ones without a problem. 1 time my shipping took a long time, but I got them right before I ran out. I order way before time now. Overall a good product
I have been using Safe Cig for almost a year. Have had the shipping problems everyone spoke about here, but they seemed to have fixed that problem. My batteries however are a problem. I have purchased 5,of the 5, I sent back three that failed or over heated ( really bad!) 4 batteries are now bad, not working or very little life in them. Now I am down to 1 battery and looking to maybe try a different brand. The last straw came with my last order, I had three cartridges fail out of the box, no draw what so ever. It is such a pain to send thing back, so I am looking for something better with regard to Quality that lasts, I don’t care about the warranty just give a product that works, Please!
Just for reference, I get about half a day on Safe Cig cartridge, then they go to that god awful taste of burning fiber. I heard Green Smoke lasts the longest per cartridge, can anyone let me know if you had used both and what you real comparison is?
Thanks,
mark
I have been using Safe Cig for about a year now and I highly recommend them. I tried 2 other brands before finding Safe Cig. Blu did not generate enough vapor for me and the battery drained too quickly. Green Smoke w/ battery was too hard to draw vapor after short usage but I liked their USB smoke w/o battery.
Safe Cig has had the best vapor production and battery charge I have found so far. Their menthol was a little minty but now I actually prefer it to some other menthols vapors I have tried. At one point SafeCig was having trouble getting cartridges shipped, so I substituted Smoke Anywhere cartridges I got at the mall which works in a pinch, their Newport flavor were less minty and far more expensive.
I have had 4 batteries replaced by SafeCig without any trouble. I have 7 so that I always have extras when they get a little older and don’t hold a charge as long.
I got my safecig a couple days ago and while I have to admit it is nothing short of amazing – it’s irritating my lungs and throat. Perhaps I chose too high of a nicotine level? It’s hard to imagine for me because I used to smoke Kool greens (stronger than blues), and most recently Marlboro Menthol regs. Or could it be that it’s something I have to get used to?
I’m sort of confused, P.W…..
You call it “nothing short of amazing” but then cite irritation. Are you not liking the Safe Cig?
What level of nicotine did you choose?
I would highly recommend staying away from The Safe Cig…while it is a decent product, shipping times are outrageous and my battery has not been working right from day one..My cartridges were also not lasting long at all, I was going through 2 a day and I was a 1 pack a day person…I am now back to “regular” cigarettes which sucks but I have just placed my new order with V2 after reading so many reviews…And it is so nice to be able to pick up the phone and call the company when you have questions or concerns…their customer service is excellent while The Safe Cig has no customer service number at all…Do your research…if you do choose The Safe Cig just pray you never have a problem and need to talk to any anybody, because then you are just plain out of luck!! Good luck to everyone and I hope which ever company you go with you are successful in quitting smoking
My husband and I wanted to quit smoking, but we both enjoy the social aspect of it. We decided to try an electric cigarette, and Safe Cig was the brand that I chose. I’ll be completely honest, here.. I did absolutely NO research. Aparently we’ve gotten lucky, because this thing pours out vapor almost equivilant to a traditional cigarette. Battery life is about 24 hours, and a cartridge is equal to one pack of smokes. The menthol flavor is very similar to Marlboro Smoothes. I love this thing, and I’m quite pleased with the product. Delivered to Omaha, NE within two days of placing my order.
I purchased my Safe Cig started pack in February and loved it. Didn’t smoke a real cig the whole time I used it. Then when it was time to order more refills, no stock. I ended up smoking real cigs again. Fast forward to July. Ready to try my safe cig again. The cartridges were not the same as they were before. I only smoke about 5 cigs a day and these new cartridges barely lasted 1 day. No where near the 1 pack they are supposed to last. I contacted customer service and received no help at all. The live chat person could barely type in English. I am determined not to go back to real cigs but I am on my last cartridge and they have been out of stock again for more than 3 weeks. You cant even place them on backorder. I use the 6mg menthol. The only menthols they have in stock are 18mg or 0mg. I guess it is time to switch brands. There are alot of new brands out now. Would love to hear your opinions on which brand I should switch to. I just dont know what I am going to do tomorrow when this last catridge runs out. Soooo dissapointed with Safe Cig!
I started with SAFE CIGs about two weeks ago, am very impressed, have cut my tobacco use in half and expect to go further. SAFE CIGs was out out of my 11mg refills for quite a while so I just refilled the cartridges. They say you can’t do that that, but you can. Simply pop-off the the white cartridge lid and drip your juice in, and then replace the lid. Works for a few refills.
My wife and I have been using Safe Cigs for about 8 months. While we loved the product and have had excellent performance out of our 6 batteries all this time the customer service I’m afraid has really gone downhill. My last two orders reminded me of the issues they had back in February. Out of product and won’t admit it. Send an e-mail (4 days after ordering) asking WHEN they expect to ship and get a response 2 days later saying they are sorry for the delay and will ship as soon as possible. Notice their response did not answer the question. It never does. I send another e-mail asking if they have other flavors or strengths in stock that I could change to or cancel. They finally offer an option after I told them I was about to write off Safe Cig.
If they would just be up front and tell me they are out of what I ordered and offer an alternate instead of waiting untill I complain and threaten, there would be no problem. I’ve changed to V2 and put the Safe Cig in a drawer. I’m also using a three pc. system by JoyeTech. While definitely more maintenance it cranks out the vapor. I’m done with Safe Cig.
What ever happened to “The Safe Cig MICRO Edition” that was announced during this Year’s July 4th Holiday Weekend? In addition to Tam’s question and Andy’s replies?
The short answer, nothing….
In fact I was contacted by Safe Cig to do a review of the Micro, which I agreed to. However, haven’t heard anything since. We went back and forth about some potential advertising, so perhaps the terms weren’t agreed to on their end and they went another direction. At any rate, when I’m able to get ahold of a Micro I’ll gladly order it and do a review for everyone. Keep checking back, Eagle.
Hi Andy,
Well! Today, 09/16/2011, I “ordered” the SAFE CIG’s “newest” Classic MICRO Pack (7 Refills) (2 Batteries) & (1 Charger).
I will COMPARE “my current” ORIGINAL Safe CIG Package with the above “newest” SAFE CIG “MICRO” Version. For now, I will not have to CHANGE to a different E-CIG Company.
Hi Andy,
I rec’d the SAFE CIG Classic MICRO Pack on 9/19/2011. Used the first one on the 20th, and I am still using that first one today changing the battery only once.
Prior to the above I was a original CLASSIC “11 mg” NICOTINE (Lights) user. The above Classic MICRO Pack is “18 mg” NICOTINE (Closer to REGULARS, I guess).
I am very, very impressed with the DESIGN PACKAGING and the PERFORMANCE of the above Classic MICRO Pack. It is “like smoking a real cigarette”. Even better than my “original” CLASSICS “11 mg”.
For now, I will continue using this “latest” SAFE CIG Classic MICRO Pack, but my wish is to eventually have MICRO Packs (REFILLS) that contain “11 mg” NICOTINE.
After doing a LOT of research online, I decided to go with the safecig starter kit deluxe. I ordered refills in 24 and 18 strength–and usually smoke the 18′s at night. I thought I’d prefer the Classic flavor, but it turned out that I like the Traditional better. I always did like a strong, full flavor cigarette though… and the occasional slim cigar.
I ordered these mostly to smoke in the bedroom so I wouldn’t get smoke in my non-smoker husband’s face, and to smoke around non-smoking friends. It NEVER crossed my mind to quit, or think about quitting. I loved smoking, enjoyed smoking, and not even the government could shame me out of delighting in them.
The “fire safe” paper made it terribly annoying with all the dropping ash, re-lighting, funky smell, coughing, bad taste in the mouth, and foul smelling smoke… but still I puffed on happily. I guess the real turning point was the birth of my granddaughter. I just really don’t want to smoke tobacco around her.
So I got the safecigs to use when visiting, going on car trips and such. I love them! How nice not to have to “chug” the smoke to keep it from going out & be able to smoke in a relaxed way like an adult again!!! Great, smooth flavors, good throat hit, no worries of the coal dropping off, long battery life. I’m looking forward to adding the micro if the reviews are good & think (oh wow, I NEVER thought I’d say this)… I’ll phase out the regular cigarettes.
I’m ordering new refills tonight, so we’ll see how shipping goes on that. I’m thinking positive thoughts and hoping for good things.
I am new to the e-cig world. When visiting Australia this past July one of my friends had a SafeCig. She recommended I give it a try. I placed an order for the Original Deluxe Starter Kit (menthol 18mg) on 09/21/2011 and it took until TODAY 10/05/2011 to be shipped. I sent the usual “Where’s my Order?” email and they replied 3 days later with “We ran out of the refills”. Because I really didn’t want to wait any longer I ALSO ordered the Micro Starter Kit (menthol 18mg) on 09/28/2011. My order was shipped that same day! However, it has been 7 days (5 business days) and each time I click on the USPS tracking email, all it says is: “September 29, 2011 – Shipping info received”. So I have no idea where my Micro order is. I also just received an email (like 5 mins ago) that my Original Starter Kit has been shipped! Very exciting…Just dislike this waiting. I really wanted to stop smoking regular tobacco cigarettes but because I like smoking I can’t just stop…waiting for the e-cigs to make that happen.
I hope to submit another feedback like this in a month or two with my success, pending all goes well.
I do have a question for Canadian orderers of SafeCig – how long does it take for your order to be received? I am in Central Canada.
Hi Serena,
Not sure about the Canada question – perhaps someone from the Safe Cig (or a customer of theirs) can answer that….keep checking back.
Unfortunately this is a product that depends on importation of parts and components. The business is BOOMING…..from the largest brands to the smallest, supply and demand are tough to manage. Inventory management is very tough – and 100′s of thousands of people are working in China to create the end product. That’s how big this has gotten! So, yes, unfortunately at times there are shortages, it’s the nature of the beast. My advice to all electronic cigarette smokers is to think ahead and keep plenty of cartridges on hand.
I would never order from this company I requested a refund for mine and returned two days after recvd and still no refund…… I returned and they recvd it on Aug 2nd I had it sent with conformation to see when they recvd it and still no refund I have emailed the company 5 times all they say we are working on it and they refund dept was down for sometime well still no refund as of today and they even say they have recvd my product back on Aug 2nd well over there 30-45 day refund policy……
Hi Andy,
Today, I heard a story (from one of my relatives face-to-face) about The SafeCig’s Company’s REFUND POLICY.
“Tonya”‘s October 7, 2011 (at 9:45 am) COMMENTS are “all” TRUE!
This relative couldn’t even get through BY PHONE, except for a RECORDED MESSAGE which stated The SafeCig’s WEB SITE ADDRESS! And, “add-insult-to-injury” The SafeCig Company “claims” they DID NOT RECEIVE THE RETURNED PRODUCT! The RETURNED PRODUCT was INSURED by the United States Postal Service.
I am deeply DISAPPOINTED with The SafeCig Company mainly because I RECOMMENDED them to that relative. Can you CONTACT them and try to find out what-the-heck is going on?
Hi “Eagle,”
Send me your name, address, and order number. I’ll send it on to a rep there.
Thanks Andy. I will contact the relative. Obviously the decision to send name, address and order number (to you) will have to be made by that relative. Guess what? Another relative (to my relative) had exactly the SAME RESULTS with The SafeCig’s Company REFUND POLICY. This seems to be snow balling.
I did mention your Web Site to my relative during the face-to-face conversation on October 9, 2011. Personally I hope my relative does decide to contact you, and in addition to the other relative to my relative. Again, thank you for your offer to help.
Hi Serena
I live in Vancouver and I received my order 8 days after I placed the order..have you received your order yet?
The only complaint I have about the safe cig is that they seem to run out of refills every 6 months. I am now down to 4 packs of 6mg menthol refills and am not able to get them right now. They just got in the 24, 18, 14, 11 but no 6 or 0mg. I have weaned myself down to the 6 and of course they don’t have them! I am starting to go into panic mode. I DO NOT want to start smoking real cigarettes ever again. I am a 37 year smoker. They really need to do something about their stock problems.
Update. Went on SC site about 1 1/2 ago. They “seemed” to have restocked (all but the strength I needed 6mg). So I was resigning myself to ordering the 11 to tide me over. Well, lo and behold, when I went back on the site (after visiting this review site) nothing was available except for the menthol 14 and 0mg. Did they actually restock or was there such a rush by everyone to order that they ran out again in an hour and half????? I think SC should spend more time on their stocking issues and less time on making their site “pretty.”
Andy where are you when we need you?!?!!??!
Hey Joyce,
What do you need? Your last question was asking if The Safe Cig re-stocked inventory. I can’t answer that question. I’ve tried but emails went unreturned.
I ordered this product while stationed in Afghanistan. I promised my wife I would quit before I came home.
Got the product, and it worked great. Didn’t smoke from the time I started using it. The battery, however, would not take a charge.
About a week in, the battery was completely dead.
I emailed the company about a week after it broke, and they said they would mail me a replacement. I waited three weeks for delivery before emailing again. They apologized and said they were mailing a replacement immediately. I said no big deal, and waited another three weeks for delivery.
I emailed them AGAIN, this time including the importance of my quitting and that I have now been waiting almost 2 months for a replacement.
They said they were mailing me a replacement.
It has now been 4 weeks since the LAST email.
Their customer service is a joke. I can’t believe a company would treat a customer this way
Hi Andy
Apparently neither can The Safe Cig customer service answer that question. And forget about them answering your e-mail. That doesn’t happen anymore with them. It seems as if they are spending too much time on making their website look fancier instead of taking care of their customers! Look at the poor guy above and what he’s going through. Just a note – I have ordered some refills from a company called The Magic Mist. According to review sites I visited their Sliver brand is supposed to work with the safe cig. Will let you know if they really are compatible and how they compare hit & vapor-wise to the safe cig brand.
Hi Joyce,
The safe cig has gone way down in customer service in recent months. It’s unfortunate, but I guess they are happy with their customer base or whatever as they just don’t seem to care about new customers.
Best customer service these days is V2 Cigs, Green Smoke, and Bull Smoke. I refuse to suggest people buy brands online that won’t back up their product. I hope TSC turns things around.
Hi Andy,
Thanks for your article on E-cigarettes. Very helpful!
I’m almost ready to order, but I’m hesitating between two brands: The Safe Cig and V2 Cigs. Can you help me decide? I think you like them both, but V2 Cigs seem to be your favourite.
Thanks,
JC
Hi JC Morgan,
Get V2 Cigs, hands down the best brand. Use “AndyG15″ for the rest of October and click through a banner on the site – it works every time.
Hi Andy! I got a disposable e cig today and I think I can kick my 35+ year bad, bad habit. I have been reading your site for a number of days trying to decide which e cig to buy…it won’t be Safe Cig after reading about their poor customer service. After just one puff of the disposable, I know I can quit…the sensation of smoking is phenomenal and this is just with a disposable! I am gonna wait till Monday and order theV2 with your 15% discount and the website 20% off on Monday. Think it’ll work?? I really want your favorite, Green Smoke, but they are pricey for refills…and if I decide, it looks like I can make my own refills with V2. Am I thinkin right?
Hi Lia,
Thanks for stopping by. Monday is a HUGE day to save. Come here, click through a V2 Cigs banner, and use my discount code. It WILL work with their sale as well! I’ve already confirmed this, in fact I’m loading up on cartridges as well.
You CAN make your own refills with V2. I don’t do that, I like the pre-assembled and filled cartomizers personally. Green Smoke is a close tie for second BUT you nailed it – it’s a little pricey for some consumers at the moment.
Hi Andy,
Thanks for your input. I will let you know if the Sliver (The Magic Mist Co.) refills work. I think I may end up having to switch to V2 or Green Smoke. I talked to TSC phone order line yesterday and was told that they wouldn’t have my menthols in till end of next week. When I did their “Chat” online I was told no later than Monday. Of course, that was what I was told the week of the 17th. The big reason I may use Green Smoke over V2 is that I can actually purchase these refills from our mall smoke shop which is less than 3 miles away from me. Honestly, you prefer Green over V2??
No, I prefer V2. Where did you read that I prefer Green? Perhaps you read an old entry or blog update. (I used to smoke them exclusively until I found V2.) I still HIGHLY recommend Green Smoke, it’s just out of a lot of people’s price point from what i gather.
Andy:
Just was reading your V2 reviews. I found it interesting that V2 also seemed to be having problems with their menthol stock. Maybe you can talk to your inside people at V2 to see if this is just a coincidence or if maybe there’s some kind of bigger problem with the menthol production out of China.
Hi Joyce,
To my knowing they don’t have any fulfillment issues at V2 as of today, but I’ll go ahead and check that out for you. Stay tuned.
Thanks Andy!
I agree Green Smoke is a bit pricey but since it is available in my mall it could come in handy when I need refills in a hurry. But in the long run I will probably get the V2 (price & your recommendation probably wins).
I really, really hate what TSC is doing to us. It truly is THE best brand out there. Especially when you consider the price. Great value for the money. It also kills me that I have invested hundreds of dollars in TSC and now I have to start over. Will keep you updated on those The Magic Mist refills. Yeah, they still have not arrived (even though I paid extra for overnight shipping). So maybe I got burned for $50.00. They have been stuck in their Illinois post office since the 28th!! Thanks Andy, you’re the best.
Hey Andy one more thing. I’m pretty sure I will be going with the V2. If I wait till tomorrow am I right that I will get your 15% and their 20%? Total of 35% off? And your code is ANDYG15? Thanks again!
Yes to all Joyce. You MUST order a kit for that AndyG15 to work, however.
Sorry Andy. Need to ask I hope my final questions!!! How long do the V2 batteries REALLY last between charges? They advertise that it will last up to 1 week. This is very important to me since V2 says it takes 3 HOURS for batteries to charge. Also length of battery – which is the closest to the safe cig battery length? Do the cartridges look just like what they show on website? I was hoping they would look like a regular cigarette (brown)? Hope you can answer soonest so I can order a kit tomorrow. Thanks again!!!
Hi again Joyce,
The V2 shorty is the closest to the Safe Cig battery. The cartridges, and all other devices and accessories, are exactly as they appear on the site. No bait and switch!
The battery lasts a week, minimum. I put them down and pick them up weeks later and they work.
Hi Andy,
Forgot about one “other” MAJOR CHANGE to the The Safe Cig ORIGINAL Product.
The REFILL ORDER will contain Seven(7) REFILLS (similar to the MICRO) instead of the “older” Five(5) REFILL ORDER. The PRICE is HIGHER but “very reasonable” for the Two(2) EXTRA REFILLS you will receive.
Hi Andy,
Looks like a previous comment of mine is missing (a long one). It could have been accidentally caused by me by sending two separate comments back-to-back). It is to long to remember to repeat here in the same detail. I talked about The Safe Cig’s MAJOR CHANGES to their ORIGINAL Product and their CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Several days ago I too sent an E-MAIL (about a battery not working), and have not received a reply. So I experimented with that battery by RE-CHARGING again OVERNIGHT and using a NEW REFILL, and low-and-behold it started to “work again”.
I can only think of two possible things that would cause the MALFUNCTION. We had a POWER FAILURE while the battery was in the CHARGER. Another reason could be (far fetched as it sounds) a NEW REFILL “not working” in ONE BATTERY but “working” in ANOTHER BATTERY (I have three batteries and two charges).
If I do eventually receive a REPLY from The Safe Cig “I will then CANCEL” my BATTERY REPLACEMENT “request”. I want to see if The Safe Cig’s CUSTOMER SERVICE “improves”. Not too mention “improving” their RE-STOCKING of REFILLS.
So far I am very happy with “all” of their E-CIG Products including the DELIVERY TIMES after I place an order. Only once did an order take more than FIVE or SIX DAYS (but I attribute that to the U.S. Postal Service).
Hi – Just wondering if u can suggest a brand of e-cigs that are similiar in taste to newport lights. Thanks in advance
Green Smoke menthol, hands down. See my Green Smoke Review page for a discount code.
Hi Andy,
I happen to SEND another E-MAIL (on a different issue I had) to The SafeCig. I also mentioned their CUSTOMER SERVICE particularly about answering CUSTOMER E-MAILS, and about CRITIZISMS appearing in “other” WEBSITES and BLOGS which could affect “losing” NEW and EXISTING SafeCig Customers. The following was their REPLY about CUSTOMER E-MAILS.
“We have had a problem with our system which caused many emails to get lost
on the system, we didn’t receive emails and if we did our customers didn’t
receive our response”.
I received the above REPLY the next day. Coincidence? We will see.
Hi Andy and everyone,
After using the Safe Cig for about 6 months without a, I have now run up against some similar issues as other “SC” users. I have been trying, without success, to order 18mg Traditional refills, which seem to be out of stock.(???) I have emailed them with no response. I’ve noticed, (as you mentioned, Andy) that they now have all these weird “flavors,” which I am leary of, because I don’t like sweet or flavored cigs. Has anyone tried any of these flavors and if so are any of them close to what a full strength Marlboro or Doral would be? Thanks so much for your help!
Hi Kathy,
Even with all of my “past critisizims” about The SafeCig’s CUSTOMER SERVICE I just ordered three(3) of their “MICRO” SafeCig Products (A Wall Charger w/MICRO USB, a MICRO Battery and a MANDALAY “MICRO” ReFILL (18 MG)).
The above “extra” WALL CHARGER and “extra” BATTERY will be used so I can always have a CHARGED BATTERY “immediately” for “both” of my ORIGINAL & MICRO “REFILLS”.
I took advantage of The SafeCig’s VETERANS DAY “20″ % OFF on “all” ORDERS.
I could be wrong but it seems to me that the MANDALAY (Both ORIGINAL and MICRO) are “popular” just as the TRADITIONAL and CLASSIC’s are. So I figured I would try the “MICRO” MANDALAY (18 mg) REFILLS at 20% OFF.
Andy,
Thinking of trying to turn my mom onto ecigs for her health. She smokes capri 120 menthols. Is there an ecig on the market that is long and skinny like the capri? Think that might help her with the mental transition….Thanks.
Andy,
What e-cig brand would provide a flavor most like Marlboro Red 100′s? I am thinking about purchasing e-cigs for my husband who has smoked for over 30 years. What e-cig company would you reccomend I try?
Marlboro Red 100′s? I’d use Bull Smoke personally, as they offer three different types of tobacco tastes ALL in the 16 and 24 mg levels that will give you that “RED” feeling. The Ranch Hand is the one you’ll want to order, in my opinion. that way you can try all three flavors in different strengths.
Andy,
TODAY IS NOVEMBER 22, 2011. PRICE IS NOT A FACTOR. CUSTOMER SERVICE AND QUALITY ARE VERY IMPORTANT FACTORS.
WHAT BRAND DO I PURCHASE?
Fab,
V2 Cigs!!!!!!
I have been a customer of the Safe Cig since Christmas of last year. In that time I have not had any major problems with supply or shipping, with the exception of last February and early March, when they had routing issues from one of their off-shore suppliers. In fact I usually receive my orders within 3 or 4 days; and that is with free shipping. IMHO I feel that some of the recent issues over the past month have been due to a complete overhaul of their original ecig to incorporate the flavors introduced with the Micro. They have also redesigned the packaging to resemlble the Micro and have transitioned to 7 per pack of refills rather than the original 5 pack. If anyone is still trying to order the original 5 pack (which is still posted on their web site) they will find that certain strengths are no longer available. As of this morning The Safe Cig was fully stocked across the board with 20% off for the entire weekend. That includes their original three flavors. Hope this helps.
I have been a customer of the Safe Cig since June 2011. Initially I did not have major problems with supply or shipping. But my NO PROBLEMS with SUPPLY could have been attributed to my SELECTION of the Original CLASSIC’s 11mg., which seemed to be always available. I am now using the Original CLASSIC’s 6mg. I am also using the MICRO CLASSIC which (for now) only 18mg. is available. I have also used the ORIGINAL & MICRO “Mandalay” FLAVOR (18mg.). I agree that “some of the recent issues over the past month have been due to a complete overhaul of their original ecig to incorporate the flavors introduced with the Micro”.
However, “some” of the Safe Cig’s FLAVOR STOCKING is “still lacking”. In addition to ANSWERING “inquiries” by Safe Cig CUSTOMERS. They still have “a-way-to-go” in “catching-up” with those INQUIRIES and SOLVING Safe Cig Customer PROBLEMS.
Hi Andy & everyone who uses The Safe Cig:
Well it has been a few months since I last posted. Here are my observations of TSC. Their customer service still STINKS. The new 7-pack cartridges do NOT last as long as the old ones and no wonder – they are much smaller than the old ones. I used to be able to use one cartridge a day and now I have to use 2 in a day and I haven’t been using it more than I was before (to be sure, I counted every time I used it). So for the money, it is not working out for me. The battery life also stinks – my batteries only last about 2 hours a piece. When I last posted I was about to buy the V2 and I did. The battery life is much better (about 4 hrs for me). The customer service is absolutely the best. And the refills are comparable to what TSC USED to be. So I have to say that for the money and the great kit options V2 can’t be beat. It takes them a little longer to ship and you have to pay for shipping but at least you know ahead of time whether the items you want to order are in stock. A V2 rep told me to do a chat with them any time I am about to order to make sure what I need is truly in stock. So far I haven’t had any problems with them. So, all in all, I would have to recommend V2, hands-down, over The Safe Cig. I am very disappointed in the turn that company has decided to take. I am sure there are MANY TSC customers that feel the same as I do and have now switched to another brand. I’m saying quit The Safe Cig and go V2 all the way. Thanks Andy for all your help. You do not steer anyone wrong.
Hi Joyce,
We’re all disappointment in the Safe Cig. They have turned into an awful company and they owe a ton of people advertising money from what I hear around the industry while their owner is partying in Hawaii on Facebook. Pretty bad stuff if you ask me. And the customer comments speak for themselves, just look around, people are bad-mouthing their customer service everywhere.
I do what I can to keep people informed. Anyone who thinks different, please read my archive and you’ll see that I’m the only blogger who tells it like it is and reports factual evidence going back to 2009.
Thanks for your kind words, Joyce.
Yes, SafeCig has lousy customer service. (Although, they have been pretty good about replacing batteries.) Their biggest problem is a total lack of quality control. Maybe 1 out of 5 cartridges perform decently. I, for one, will NOT spend another dime with them. Compared to other companies they might be moderately priced, but that does no good if you have to throw away most of a box in one day. Sad, as when a cratridge performs correctly, they have a decent flavor and draw, even at lower nicotine levels. Too many of the other companies have flavors that are too sweet or there is a harder draw. Regardless, one of them will get my business as SafeCig has the worst quality control and you end up wasting a lot of money and getting turned off to the value of electronic cigarettes. .
Hey everyone! I’ve been away on a Consulting job for a while! I’m back. All comments held for moderation will be answered shortly. Lots going on in the e-cigarette world. Podcast will be held at the end of the month – with some very special guests!
Thanks for everyone who has helped make this e cigarette review site what it’s become today.
Yours in health,
Andy
Hi Andy,
First of all, Thanks ALOT for the effort you put into this site! Its a major help to anyone trying to find a good product.
I did research about a year ago and decided on the safe cig after reading your site…at the time the reviews were alright. I had a good experience…but then i didn’t have to deal with customer service. I fell off the wagon and am ready to climb back on. I went to their website and ran across out of stock issues so I came here to check out the comments and really don’t want to go back to them. Would you know if the V2 or Bull cartridges are compatable with the safe cig battery? I just don’t want to spend all that money again buying the extra batteries that I need cuz I’m a heavy smoker.
Thanks
Hi Kristy,
Thanks for coming back to my site! The Safe Cig battery is NOT compatible with either cartridge. What I’d suggest is getting a new kit. I really am bearish on the Safe Cig brand and there are a lot of things behind the scenes (rumblings, if you will) of how their company is really falling behind on providing good customer service. If I were you, I’d buy a new kit and chalk it up as a loss. Bull Smoke’s kits are $59, and if you use “15″ you’ll save $15 off the purchase price, plus you get 5 free cartridges if I’m not mistaken. It’s a great brand with superb customer support.
Thanks again for coming back and do let me know if I can help you out with anything further.
Just want to let all know that as much as I preferred Safe Cig they screwed up!!!!!!!! We are all addicted to nicotine as that is why we are using this product. I have several times ordered my refills and was told that they ran out and did not get their order in time! I suffered greatly waiting weeks for my refills! Hell, maybe they have helped me in some extent quit? Not happy! Going elsewhere at this point!!!
Tom,
We keep hearing this about the safe Cig brand, and it’s a shame. In 2010 and even early 2011, they were a great company. I don’t know what happened other than a key employee who left that I personally know. Certainly disappointed to hear this.
Hello, Does anyone know what has happened to Safe Cig? I have been a loyal customer for nearly two years now, even through all the shipping and customer service malfunctions. They have a great product, just very poor execution and supply. I would just order early each time I knew that I would be in need and every new flavor I tried (because my favorites were never in stock) was agreeable. I placed an order last week just the same as every month….
And now, the website is gone. There is only voicemail at customer service and no returned emails. Have they gone under? Did the plant explode? Seriously. I have been checking the news and every review company I can find to see if there is some information out there.
I, clearly, am changing to another company (going to try South Beach this round), but I would like to know where my money went and if I will ever see it again. I never place an order less than $100, so it’s not chump-change (to me, anyways) that can be just “lost”.
Thanks!
Wow, let me look into this Hollie. I’ve documented the problems there for over two years, and I know they started a new venture called “Seminole Cig” but to totally abandon a brand that was doing very well, that would shock me.
I’l be back soon with updates!
Safe Cig is not out of business but going through some business reorganization. I have heard their site will be back up shortly. In the meantime Safe Cig manufactured our electronic cigarettes, Seminole Unconquered. We have the same flavors and our refills work with the Safe Cig batteries. The only difference is the label. We are taking orders, fully stocked, and happy to help Safe Cig customers. You can reach our customer service team at ecigcustomerservice@gmail.com or by calling 800-319-5224. We look forward to helping Safe Cig customers get the refill flavors and strengths they like with the new Seminole logo.
Dave,
Thanks for the update. Please share more information with me via andygraysreviews AT gmail.com. It’s sort of odd you visit here with a Yahoo! email address and handle customer service with a gmail, I must stay. Usually customers want to see an official email at the domain name of the company so I would hope you get that going soon in order to save some face here.
Come back soon with more info for us.
