I can sit here and say many marvelous things about the reason I’ve decided to switch to electronic cigarettes, but I’m sure since you are spending the time to read my rants, raves, and endorsements of many of the best e-cigarettes on the market, you already know I’m a fan of these alternative smoking devices. Well, it will come as no surprise to you that people around me tell me all the time “Andy, it’s just great you found electric cigarettes because now we can go home after hanging out and not smell like crap.”
People often write in and ask:
“Do electronic cigarettes smell?”
The answer is NO….not one bit. NO foul odor. NO lingering effect. Just vapor…and goodness!
That sure does make me feel better, and also a little be disgusted with my old habit of smoking traditional cigarettes. I mean, how embarrassing is it when you visit the home of a non-smoker and you bring that foul, nasty smell with you, and even intrude their home with that nasty smell? It’s not pleasant, and it’s not proper etiquette. People that don’t smoke don’t want to be around someone who has a foul odor around them, especially that of cigarette smoke. At places that are considered more proper, like Church, it’s just rude to come in smelling like a chimney of tar. I’m very happy with many things about electric cigs, but the smell not being around is probably the number one thing that I do feel just great about.
There are many things that I sort of save money on exponentially with e-cigs, one being, of course, cigarettes. No more boxes, cartons, lighters, etc. But, since I’m on such a roll about the odorless advantage e-cigarettes bring to the table, I may as well mention some expenses that are pretty much about a tenth of what they used to be now that I smoke the odorless cigarettes.
One that comes to mind is dry cleaning. I don’t have to bring in all of my fancy shirts and slacks for constant cleaning, because I am not trying to rid them of the foul smell of tar and cigarette smoke! This is a big savings, and one that I know adds up over time. All those trips to go fetch my clothing, GONE. The aggravation of being on their schedule, GONE. It’s pretty cool knowing I can have a smoke and not have to worry about removing my clothing or wondering where I would be going later, and if I’d smell like I was just locked in a room with 12 smokers.
Not having that lingering odor is also good for my kids. I want to lead by example, and if the smell bothered them (it did) it made me angry. So, with that gone, I can rest now knowing my kids won’t be looked at differently by others or have a nasty smoke odor around them, something that brought great shame to me. I mean, what kid deserves to have a foul odor of tobacco, something we teach them to stay away from, following them around at school? That’s just awful…..glad those days are over.
Sorry to rant, I just like to remind myself that sometimes the smell being gone is enough for me to justify all the time I put into this here blog. Sometimes my family asks me why I spend so much time online now. Well, it’s because I have to fill the time it used to take for me to fetch my clothing from the dry cleaners! lol.
